Great, I'll try that one out see if it's the one I'm looking for.
Thanks! 👍

Yeah, I meant that. Brown or warm gray if you want hehe. I've calibrated the monitor this morning, so it must be more accurated now lol. The color code we gave is the hexadecimal number btw.

Round 3 still owns.

EDIT: Oh I just read you wanted the color of the background, well I just have PSPX, and then I record the screen and then I choose some kind of ink-looking like pen and then click the imported image, voila there is it. Im having a hard time again explaining something. :(

Well it's working for me.....Good luck!

For me too! :D

Yup. Can't tell exactly which color it is too, really. Btw, what monitor you have, alex?

That is what I am using, so should work for you Beerzy. 👍

It sure does. I forgot I could do a 'print screen' and open the image on photoshop to see the color... :dunce:

 That's ok, I already got it. But thanks for your help, though.
And many thanks for the praise on the Prelude shot too!

Ok guys, I did this one to take my gallery out of page 2, so don't expect much. It's more of an experience than a hard laboured shot, just wanted to know what you people think of it.

...And here's a cover for GT5 I made yesterday.
I figured since the game it's going to be a lot more detailed graphically and have highly realistic carbon fiber I'd go with something like this...

Me say NSX is YUM.

The GT5 bit is absolutely unbelievably sweet.
One flaw though. The PS3 case is a little bit 'square-er.'
But still, that's, just, that's insane. Good job. 👍

Great work on the NSX, I did a shot kind of in the same style as that shot, but at a different track and different car. However, when someone does a shot with that type of lighting it comes out well most of the time.

Wow, I love the first picture, the sense of it…the darkness combined with the white stripes on the left, and the red car coming towards, and…what’s this? A new signature? 👍
The GT5 Cover it’s very good also, but I kindly don’t like the 5.

Wow, thanks, Dracwolley!
The PS3 cover is like that, they are not shaped as PS2 covers.

Thanks, mate!
Glad you liked it. I started it by trying something photorealistic, but changed my mind during the edit and decided to do a darker and 'misterious' shot instead.

Hey, LdS!
So cool you liked the shot. What captured me when I first took it was the color combination between car/track. And during the photoshoot I was surprised with how good that car looks, even on an unedited shot.
I still have a bunch of shots from that shoot, one I already used on the NC comp a few weeks back.
The sig I already tried a while back, might bring it back again, it's more aggressive and I like it better, although it doesn't fit most of the shots. But for this one it suited just fine.
Really? You don't like the 5? It was the most fun part of the editing, I love how it came out. :D

Very nice NSX pic! And the covers are awesome as well. Looks like the real deal to me :dopey: And the "*Except Forza fanboys" text woke me up to the reality: GT is the one and the only. I've been an idiot for these past couple of days as I've played Forza A LOT. Shame on me! :ouch:

The NSX is something artistic (In opposite of realism I guess), and it's good. There are a lot of possibilities when doing this, and it's interesting to see what people do. I must do it too, and park a bit the photorealism hehe. In fact, that NSX could be very usefull as backgrounds to graphic stuff.

Your cover is cool man. The car is nicely cut and the shadow doesn't look chopped 👍 I don't know why I think that kind of images fit better in a black background. And notice I'm a fan of white lol. The logo has a plastic feeling, it's coll as well, different of the usual style. Does the 5 number from a font?

Edit. And my monitor is a marvelous Philips 105S5 like this:

http://img.deremate.cl/user/images/1694/16940568.jpg

It can show images at the amazing size of 768x1024px

I really like that GT5 box you've created there. The back of that Zonda is so detailed and the overall layout is well done. Good work mate

That's right, go whip yourself now.
Thanks for the positive comment, I appreciate it!

Thank you very much, alex!
and I never thought of the NSX shot as a background, but you're right, it would look good. :D
On the cover, Glad you like how it came out. The shadow was a bit time consuming and still I'm not totally happy with how it came out, but at least seems natural.
The number '5' is from a font, yes, can't remember the name now.
I tried to replicate the design and light from the original GT lettering, it came out good to me. Could've transformed the '5' a bit on some parts, but it's ok.

Cool monitor. :D At least it's 50x better than the one I was still using until a couple of months ago: a 1991, 14" color monitor by some brand I can't remember now. It blasted a full 640x480 with full color, or 800x600 with 256 color...

I really like that GT5 box you've created there. The back of that Zonda is so detailed and the overall layout is well done. Good work mate

Welcome back, dude!
Thanks for the compliment. I also liked that Zonda shot a lot, but hadn't found a way to use it anywhere until now.

Not many comments on these last shots. Oh well...

Update tomorrow. :)

lol, I talked about my moniton in a ironic tone, but your 14" is also a good enginnering crap lol. I'd like to buy a 22" widescreen. I'd like so many things... :D. Definitely, our monitors aren't the best tool to work on graphic stuff.

Salu2.alexwrc

Well mate...cool NSX...very cool. Sinister looking, but damm good!!! I like the contrast of the car with the rest of the track...amazing Beerz!!!
Covers...damm...now with Ferrari......yep thats a good advertising for people to buy GT5. The original one is brutal, that Zonda makes wonders!!

Well done (once again)...U are surely the best Portuguese guy around here (make us proud)👍

My new one is pretty cool, though. No top of the line, but 19" and a 12**x**** resolution is fine now, won't need more than that for a while now. :)

Hey, Nuno!
Thanks a lot for that praise, really glad you like both images.
You also captured the modd of the NSX very well, it's what I think when I look at it too.
I don't know about being the best Portuguese around, you're pretty good too, and LdS is also learning fast.
And maybe alex is a Portuguese in disguise, and if so, HE's the best Portuguese around.👍

New update: I took my gold Bellet to the ring about 6 months back but only now I got to edit at least one shot. I wish I had used a smaller aperture when taking it, but it's ok.
I tried to go for a bit of realism on this one (on the car, notas much on the scenery), so tell me what you think.
Next time I'll give it a shot with my orange one, but on some hardcore driving instead.

:drool::confused:Cool, very realistic, very nice indeed. I love the reflections and the car itself. And what’s that green thing on the road???

BUT, there is a BIG HUGE mistake (well, probably not that big, but for me is big). How didn’t you think of it? In the lower right of the picture (in the border) it says: nurburgring, Germany, 1969, and the picture is colorful, and not black and white (with a middle red filter)….:indiff:

In spite of that, great picture…👍

The green stuff on the road is some letterings painted on the tarmac, it's from the game.

As for the tones, I also thought of making the shot look old too, but decided that I'd go for a colored look, without sepia tone or anything. Besides, they already had color film at that time. Even Hitler has some color footage, the bastard (not artificially colored). :D

But thank you very much for your comment, glad you thought it's somewhat realistic, it was my main goal with it. :)👍

____

Thanks, TVR. I deliberately went for a classic shot with a peaceful feeling to it.

I love those ligth details of the car, they make it quite realistic! I also love the Ring, and this kind of classic stuff. The color filter works fine to enhance the old and real photo feeling.

LdS, there are color photos and films in 1969. I can second the F1 of the 1950 decade is also in color because I saw it lately, mostly in B&W I know, so I guess some previous races could be in color too.

Thanks, alex! Good to see so many people are finding it realistic. :D

Most of the work on the car was actually dodging/burning, almost no cleanup at all except for a few areas.
I also find the Ring better for this kind of shots rather than action new photos, because I can never get decent ones when using modern cars there. I must suck really bad.

Also thanks for posting those shots, I already saved them to my usb disk. I absolutely love those old racing shots, makes me go back in time instantly. 👍

Sorry, my bad. I thought that colour photos only appeared in the late 70’s.
But they normally are from races, for casual photos like this are normally black and white, with sepia or red filter. Even the border combines more with a black and white picture.
But I like the shot in spite of that detail (that thing of big huge mistake was just to scare Beerz)

Very classy shot mate. I really like the grain that is incorporated to create that old look. The car is real smooth as well, very realistic. Well done buddy.

The Isuzu Bellett is such an awesome car to take around the 'Ring. :D
I like the style of the photo very much, it has a genuine old feel to it and the colouring is spot on for the mood of the photo. The lighting has also been carefully thought through which is nice to see. :)

Thanks a lot for your comments, guys. And Mog, for the more detailed 'insight' on the shot. 👍

Now off to the bad news.

My girlfriend just broke up with me and I'm not handling it that well (and that's an understatement). We were together for over 6 years now and as you may realize, something like this leaves deep scars on a person.
I understand her reasons, but that doesn't mean I accept something like this with a smile, so I need some time to put myself together.

I'm going to rethink my whole life from this point on, and as GTP community is also part of my life, where I spend some time of the day, it too needs to be evaluated to see if it's worth continuing, and if I still have some motivation left to do anything and post here from now on.

So this is where I don't know If I will come back here tomorrow, next week, next month or never again. But even if I don't do any more work to show you guys, I'll try to drop by every now and then to see how things are going.

That's it.

It's either "see you guys later" or "it was great to know many of the people that post here", I still don't know.

So take care, people. Hope this forum goes strong for a long time still.
