I'm surprised you guys even have to ask.
Tires are open run whatever, so who's going to try sports hard!

Grip is set to real and fuel / tire wear are on as well.

"On" is not an option , it's normal, fast , or very fast . To bad you cant set the fuel separate from the tires. I guess you'll use normal .

Yeah. So BK. Normal, fast or very fast?

On 'Normal' the tires last about 15 laps at a track like Spa. I think they'll run around 9 or 10 laps with these power levels at Sarthe.

I dunno, Ill test it and let you guys know soon. This must of been in an update recently because last time I played it was on or off.

Yep, they've changed the tire/fuel options in the last update along with the physics. Good luck!

I'm tweaking the regs a little, If anyone wants to pratice / race online ect ect. Let me know.

Paginas stop lurking and just say your in, You can get Chinese food on a different Saturday.

finally found the thread, so when do we start :P

It's one race on Dec 1st. Check OP

I've been test out the cars with no wear on trying to get them even for La Sarthe and this weekend ill get testing with wear on done as well.

I have the Bentley, Audi & Peugeot even in terms of performance but I'm not finished yet with the GT-One & 787b.

I've come up with this for now.

Bentley Speed 8 640 HP / 940 KG

Audi R8 640 HP / 950 KG

Peugeot 908 650 HP / 930 KG

GT-One 630 HP / weight ?

787b - ????

Any of you guys headed to Austin this weekend for the F1?

No, we were going to but then Able F'ed it up for all of us. :grumpy:

Car regs sound good. I've not heard of this slow, fast or very fast stuff though for tyres lol, guess it has been in an update.

Aw that's too bad. Had the pleasure myself to go to Silverstone this season, where Luffield was the place to be :sly: But Austin looks truly awesome, first new track on the calendar I've properly looked forward to since Singapore's first race in 2008.

I hope I'm not too late for this? I could come in a .... well, pretty much anything, but I think I'll snag a 787B.

Shut up **** lol

Yea sign me up don't care what car

edit: Take the 908

I've done some testing with fast Tire/Fuel wear on and with racing softs you can get maybe 5 laps (including the out lap) from the car & tires. Can anyone else besides me confirm this ?

Not too difficult finding the thread, but turning on the PS3 is when you've got nothing exciting to do with it at the moment.

I'll have to go update the game some time soon, I think there's been two or three updates since the last time I had GT5 running.

Just a quick question: Is there a set release date for pCars yet? I just read an article the other day about it and the writer was extremely excitet about it and said it'd eat GT5 and Forza like a dog eats a bone.

I'll have to check out this new wear thing going on... haven't played in months.

I'm driving back from Austin now.. Will be home Thursday and do some practice then.

The 'Normal' rating for tire wear/fuel consumption actually lets you turn consistent lap times like they do at LeMans. You still can't go 11 or 12 laps at once though. 'Fast' is about 6 laps, and 'Very Fast' is 2 before you'll need to pit.

I like the new tyre load indicator, except it shows my rear tyres are burning constantly.

I supppose you are testing on soft tyres?

I think the fastest wear rates should be fun. More pit stops hence mores strategy in a small race

Theyre way too fast. Youll last 2 laps at sarthe and have to pit like 6 times. Maybe not exactly that but itll be a high number. I think 'normal' will be the best setting.

I've been driving around with the 'Fast' setting and it is a little quick my (rear) tyres disappear. Normal is probably the best option and is probably similar to what we've used in the past.

Compared to reality, GT5's pitting is quite buggy, so it'd be a good idea not to have too many pit stops as it'd make a race of too much chance.

^ This is true, but I like pitstops :(

I've been busy so I have not finished playing around with normal / fast settings.
All my regs for cars and settings will be posted on Sunday morning.

Allin and mike46 may be switching to the Bentley. Not sure just yet, mike gets to choose and I'm under the impression he was considering it.

This track with these cars. This is awesome. I'm really hoping that most of you will show up and make it an epic race. Razor, Seth and I were all pretty even and we had some great races!

It's great we don't have penalties for the race, because even if we knew when we would be cutting, a mistake where one go wide could result in a 10 second penalty plus the automatic penalty you get when you make a mistake. For the qualifying, good!
