Hi

I Wonder about the best/worst SuperGT Car According to the Community.

Some User Said they Need more Details..

FAQ

iamjajo
The OP question is a little vague though, so you might add some specifics like distance, with or without tire wear, and whether or not mods are allowed.

Lets say... without Tuning the SuperGT Cars. Setups are allowed :)
If you mean a tuned Version pls say it.. For example.

"If you Tune the NSX it is the ......."

It's more of a question as to which GT300 would be better since there's more variety there.

You can do both. This Thread is about SuperGT Cars.... You can say your Favorite GT500 and GT300 Cars. I didnt include the GT300 in the Pool, because there to much Manufacture and privat Team. And more People know the GT500 Cars.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure on which is my best/worst Super GT race car but I just hope this thread doesn't end up in a heated argument.

Pls accept other oppinions and be Polite Thx :)
It's against the AUP to use text speak, so please don't. Anyway, Honda, no contest. Nsx's are the fastest and most fun, but hard on tires. GT-R is fast but likes to burn through tires too. Nissan Z is pretty bad in my opinion. Average speed and good on tires but VERY boring. The SC430's are easy to drive and good on tires but boring too. The Castrol Tom's Supra is slower (This is very apparent on straightaways) but has a lot of character. The Yellowhat is faster than the Castrol but I don't enjoy driving it as much. There are others that I didn't mention. The standard Supras are even faster, and I ddon't know anything about the R34 car.

Well, that's my quick overview on the cars. But like I said, I much prefer the Hondas

This.

This is very much down to personal preference.

I prefer the GTR’s myself (specifically the Motul and Xanavi). They understeer at first but their behavior is consistent, so when the understeer is fixed, they are always well balanced and never do anything unexpected.

The Honda’s however seem to change from corner to corner, and sometimes even through 1 corner goes from understeer to oversteer and back again.

I can almost match my GTR laps in the NSX, but its so much easier for me to set fast laps one after the other in a GTR.

I like the Calsonic GTR Premium. It's a good all round car and can be set up to get good tire wear. But, my go to car on Suzuka is the Takata Dome NSX.

The Lamborghini Diablo. Great sound, great speed, great balance. Easily faster than the others, apart from the Z.

I don't really mind any of them. Since Honda introduced the HSV-010 in the actual real world though, they've been my preferred make to be honest, but the HSV-010 is still not in the game...

The diablo understeers like a hog.

Tune one to 600pp. you will get destroyed by everyone else

Of course the diablo is the only one that does like 800 hp+

So I guess that makes it the best and worst..

If it understeers then you haven't set it up correctly. It's a great car. I've been quite successful with it in 600pp races.

Personally, my favourite is the Calsonic GT-R.

I think the Calsonic GT-R is cool too, but the NSX isn't Bad. I have to think about my Favorite SuperGT Car in GT5.

Yes the HSV-10 is my Favorite too, but it isn't in GT5 :(

I Hope the comming dlc will bring the LFA and HSV-10 SuperGT Car.

I made a Little FAQ in the first Post...

Mobil NSX can be a really quick drive when you get the setup right.
NSXs do seem to suffer from poor rear grip when not setup perfectly.

I do like the Diablo personally.

I've done a lot of testing for bfgracing.com SuperGT league. This season we are running premium models only, '06-'08 @ 615pp.

In this bracket, the GT-R's and the NSX are more or less on pace with each other around a lap. GT-R's are monsters in the low speed technical corners, where the NSX is better with med-high speed corners and is a little faster on the straights. Generally speaking though, the GT-R will be the car to beat.

The Lexus isn't as fast, but is better on tires and puts its power down a lot nicer than the other two, which makes it a great stable ride for all track conditions, and is a monster on the brakes. Supremely stable and slows down quickly. While at the regulations will make more power than the GT-R, it can't go as fast in a straight line, more of a tactics racer. The '06 model Lexus is the best.

If I were to include the standard model cars, the NSX just cleans up. '00 model being the slowest, '01 being faster, then with '03 model Takata Dome NSX being the best of the JGTC cars.

My personal favourite is the '06 Takata Dome NSX, followed by the ENEOS SC430 Lexus. I enjoy taking slower cars and trying to come out on top.

This is a great thread. As im in the stage of looking at buying 1 of these machines, i know have abit more knowledge on what to buy.

From what ive seen in this thread im leaning towards the Honda NSX cars. I remember from GT4 they were 1 of my favourites. So i might stick with them.👍

I am considering the Castrol Supra but not sure about top speed. Love the look of it, considering the car has been around since GT1 arrived. haha 👍

Thanks. Oliver.

The Castrol Supra is a peach to drive, very fun, but not very fast. If you're racing against people you're better than it's ok. But tracks with long straights give this car quite a disadvantage.

BEST
500: Arta/Raybrigg/Takata NSX

I don't know what Diablo you've been driving but if anything mine oversteers.

For just looks alone

GT500: Epson NSX / Takata Dome NSX '03
GT300: Arta Garaiya / Wedsport Celica

Shame the HSV isn't in this game, would've been nice. Definitely agreeing about the Hondas being generally the quickest out of the big three, from what I've seen the Arta/Raybrig/Takata NSXs more than dominate whenever I host a B-spec remote race. I've seen the Z hold it's own against the new GT-R quite well while the slower AIs more than often end up with GT-Rs as well as the Lexus/Toyotas.

Though I do occasionally see an SC430 somewhat manage to improve its initial starting position.

Same, I find it almost as wild as the Zonda R.

Personally, I love the sound of the '08 GT-R's, especially when travelling towards you at high revs. Un-tuned, Ive always thought the NSX was quicker though. May be due to me using the Motul Autech, which is 30kg heavier than other GT-Rs.

I generally use either a Denso Dunlop Sard SC430 or a Woodone Advan Clarion GT-R, but my favourite is probably the old Castrol Tom's Supra with the 2-litre engine. It's more fun to drive, and feels lighter and can turn in slightly better. Plus, that car was one of my old faithfuls in GT3.
