Heh heh, I didn't expect you to remember Safari, Shannon, but good job!
Safari for me, most definitely. Incredible rendering speed, excellent stability, tabbed browsing (big plus)... it's all good.
rjensen, how can you possibly say that Mozilla is lightweight?Mozilla carries quite a bit of garbage with it...

Slim Browser, I've tried all the others, this ones a pleasure to use.
Why exactly did you put Safari on the poll? I mean, it only works on Mac OSX and there is an Other option.Originally posted by Sage

Yeah, I've used Crazy Browser before. It was built off Internet Explorer. It's virtually just IE with a pop-up killer and tabbed browsing.Originally posted by BMW POWER
in the past i've used both IE6 and Opera but i'm currently using crazy browser and i find that it works best for me.
Mozilla's good. Trying to find a nice skin for it.Originally posted by Viper_Maniac
Well I just fixed the BF1942 problem. Took me all this time to realize it was just one file that was causing it.Now then, I think I'll install Mozilla to see if I like it.
Mozilla uses less system resources (so you're computer won't get bogged down and operate real slow), it is skinnable, has tabbed browsing (so you can view multiple web pages within the one Mozilla window) and it also supports all major web standards, so most pages will display correctly (unlike Opera).Originally posted by DODGE the VIPER
So, what's new with Mozilla? I still use IE6...how much would the download be?

I just meant that why put it on there if only a few may use it. If it was a crossplatform browser than I would be fine with it being on the poll.Originally posted by GilesGuthrie
I put Safari on the poll.
I did it because it's actually more interesting to find out how many people are using it. You'd listed all the mainstream browsers for Windows and Linux, but had excluded Mac users. This is surprising given that you develop your own web sites: do you care so little about whether your site works on a Mac that you're not even willing to find out how many people are browsing on Macs?
I use IE6 on the PC, plus Mozilla on Linux, and occasionally Opera, usually when I'm looking to resolve an issue that I think may be caused by incorrect standards compliance.

As with websites, I try to make them compatible with other browsers. One thing gets me though, how does your OS effect the display of a web page? I thought it'd be up to the browser.
So you're saying, the only thing that may be effected by the OS is the fonts and sizes?Originally posted by GilesGuthrie
The browser does the rendering, yes. However, all applications hook into the core graphics subsystem, which is run by (and therefore dependent upon) the operating system.
Additionally, different OSes come with different font sets, which can affect your designing, and some will do things such as font smoothing slightly differently, which could also affect your choice of fonts/sizes etc.
