Best car for "Nurburgring 24h"endurance race....??

I don't think X1 would be a good car for any A-Spec 24hrs endurance...concentration can't keep up for more than half a lap on the 24h layout.

Bspec would be x2010. And I haven't nor will I try the 24 hour but I would just use my favorite car that was still faster than the competition.

For last race of A-spec consider to using one of these
A: Audi R8 Race Car '01
B: Peugeot 908
C: Sauber C-9

What will be your choice ?

If it's doable in the C9, then that might be my choice for A. I'm afraid B will probably get the X

Actually Sauber C-9 was my GT4 record breaker even the " Nurburgring circuit "
Especially simplify 5 gear box and stable chassis
But can't refuse to try some thing new..???

If I were you I would check the laptime of AI & use an underpowered car that can be 4 or 5 seconds faster than them. Not for making it competitive's sake, just save myself some stamina...I would use a stock R390 GT1 or even a GT2 class car say Viper GTS-R/C5-R or fully modded GT500 cars. LMP/Group C are just too tiring to handle it 24 hours.

Actual result of " Nurburgring 24h" in B-spec

1: AUDI R8 Race Car '01 , AVG/lap time :7'58,578
2: Mazada 787B Race car '91 AVG/lap time :8'02,328
3: Pescarolo C60-Peugeot AVG/lap time :8'05,164

A-Spec. Arta Gariya '08 fully tuned and blown.
B-spec. Peugot 908Hdi

I've tested the JGTC and GT500 cars and they are too quick for the competition. Especially the Xanavi nismo Z.
Plus the arta has awesome yellow headlights that flash. I did the LeMans in the redbull. But, I really love the Nurburgring and feel that this race
and the way it's structured on the PS3 is really a disservice to the spirit and competition of the actual Nurburgring 24 hour race. Le Mans has historically been a
race between the big boys of motorsport. Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, Ford, Porsche going really fast down the mulsane. The Nurburgring is a different style of
car, and a different driving sensibility. I don't think the GT5 experience is at all pleasant being forced to do 8:20 laps in hyper powered Le Mans group c racers, or against them if you choose a lower powered car as I recommend on the first line.
Speaking of which, you can use a really much slower car if you start the race in the wet, because you'll be able to pull a considerable lead, I haven't done the math on how low you can go
but the Arta is 496hp 1175kg and 587PP. That's with a stage 3 engine and turbo. Pulling 180-190mph down the main straight.
Now the real question, am I ready to actually do this? Hell no. Not in any car. It's monumental. Mental being the keyword.

I've tried both the Mclaren f1 and Zanusi MP4-12c and it's possible, barely, it's just when it starts to rain, due to lack of down force it becomes much harder. Also tried in a fully tuned Scuderia but again due to downforce imbalance between it and the competition they are faster in some of the higher speed corners. Especially after the Bergwerk Section. Though after the Karousell you can catch up due to over slow driving of the other cars. Haven't tried S2000 GT1 Turbo... Not really a street car though is it.

Old thread I know, but I just wanna chuck in something... a few of these LMS Prototype cars are red herrings on the Ring 24 challenge, atleast in B-Spec mode. The AI, your drivers included, are pretty bad at judging a pit stop for the tyres and so the overshoot by one lap... I could walk to the next lap quicker lol

I have noticed that the AI nails it with the Audi R10 TDI Race Car, seems to get the pit stops smack on everytime and so it leaves the far more powerful cars in it's dust by the end of the race. It finishes several laps ahead of the rest of the field.

PS. Using the F1 or X2010? Tut tut... like using dynamite to move cow off the road! XD

I won it a-spec using the CLK Touring car, was having a great race with the 787B and was winning by a couple of minutes after 6 hours then it rained and ruined the race. The AI are useless in the wet. If you don't want to just walk away with it the CLK is a good choice.

The CLK is one of my favourites. Great that you used it and won it with 👍
You fully tuned it right? What tyres did you use?

I'm going to race the 908 at Le Mans and the McLaren tuned to GT1 class for Nruburgring to keep tradition. GT Cars for the Green Hell, and Le Mans cars for the, Orange Hell?

Well the wife has gone away for 3 days, so It's time to tackle the 24 hrs at the ring, after testing everything in the game just about, I'm leaning towards the bently speed 8, but I've never driven it at night, can anyone tell me if it's headlights are any good?

It needs to be a car that you respect and apreciate, as 24 hours with the wrong car will drive you nuts!
So select a brand you like and think of Endurance races as 'km/mile rack ups'. So which car engine do you want to break in?

choose the car that you are most comfortable with doing laps subconsciously. Also, one that can be forgiving for the occasional input error, and also easy to get back on track if spun out, and to have a peace of mind to lead by a good 2 laps at least into the 11th hour,

For myself, this would be a Vaxhaul or opel Astra touring car, BMW GTR Racecar, Mclaren F1 racecar, 908FAP, Renault Trophy Lutencia racecar, Alpha 155 TI, to name a few.

If I had the time to sit this through, and a trusty wall circuit breaker, I'd do this every 24h I can get!
