NISMO 400R -

one of the fastest of the "Normal" cars
one of the fastest "Hard Tuned" cars
one of the fastest Race Modified cars

... and looks awesome no matter how you use it :-)

With slipstreaming, it topped out at over 270 MPH.

Thye had slipstream in GT1!

so thats why i topped 420kmh in my suzuki special model on gt2...

anyway the fastest car on gran turismo is the 80's skyline r33 :) or the r32 iam not sure. its like the r32 but a much more powerfull better looking car. over 900bhp, it kicks.

the car with the most hp is the GTO. it has 930hp if i can remeber correctly.

but sadly we only saw the GTO in GT1, now we get this 3000GT peice of crap :grumpy:

Hey no worrries, ddue. In GT2 you stil get to cheat plenty ...that's what the Suzuki Excuso is for.

As for my favorite GT1 cars, the Cerbera LM Edition (green and white paint job, but i think it also came in maroon and white) was by far my favorite car. It wasn't as fast as the others like the 1992 Mitsubishi GTO twinturbo (which was another favorite, and a beast).. but the Cerbera by far had the best handling of any car I had driven and suited my style VERY well. I got very fast lap times with it.

Cerbera not as fast as the others? I tested all the Race cars I had and the Cerbera is more than 1 second faster than all of the other cars I have, including the GTO (which was just in the middle of the pack in the comparison). (I don't have the FTO yet btw)

Ok, driving styles can differ, but I don't think lots of people agree with you if you say the Cerbera is slower than 'the other cars'.

I think he meant in top speed.
But the TVR was quick around a track and mine held lots of fastest lap records in my game.
The FTO is also very good for average drivers to set fast lap times but a well driven TVR will beat a well driven FTO.
A 1000 hp GTR or GTO race modded car will be faster at the test track.

Hmm, yeah, now that you mention it, he was talking about a normal GTO, not the LM version  Hmm, I need to sleep, 2 mistakes within 3 hours is not a good sign.

The FTO LM was a very worthy car, yet it saddens me to see that no one has acknowledged the Cerbera LM: ample power, handles like it's on rails - a true classic. I could run race after race without even touching the brakes - that car almost drove itself.

It's perplexing as to why this one was omitted from GT3 - the Cerbera Speed 12 is close (after much tweaking) but no cigar.

:odd:

I thought that the Cerbera LM was way too skittish, It would bounce on the way into corners and then spin on the way out. Unless of course, you set yours up perfectly, I usually leave my cars with their stock set-ups. The FTO LM is easily the best car in the game. Great acceleration and handling thanks to four-wheel drive traction. And it looks great in both colours. Shame they've changed it for GT4

And there lies your problem. You gotta mess around with settings (lower dampers, stabilizers, and springs) before the lightweight Cerbera stops bouncing.

GTO LM Is My Fav Car And Its Also The Best Car. BELIVE ME!!!!
It might be your fav but deffineately Not the Best! The yellow or Purple Concept Car will beat it hands down on 99% of GT-1 Tracks! The GT0 is only Successfule on the Test Track!!!

The Concept only has ("half the Horespower") Also!

The three fastest cars in GT1 are the Concept car, Cerbera LM and GTO Twin Turbo. Which one is the fastest is up to the driver, tuning and/or track. Around SSR5, the three cars were able to put out laps whithin a few tenths of each other.

The FTO LM may be easy to drive and look great, in that way it could be the best in the game, but in terms of raw speed, it cant keep up. In fact, Id rank the FTO LM as 8th fastest in the game behind the RX7 LM, Del sol LM, R33 Skyline GTR (fully tuned) and NSX typeSzero (Fully tuned) (in no particular order). Thats the results of my testing, others may get different results, but there is still little chance that the FTO LM could beat a cerbera LM, the cerbera is a faster car.

You should try a couple of other Skylines (GT-R'89 as lightest, but also the new Vspec with more and better power) and the new Supra RZ. The Supra RZ does well in maximum speed competitions. Turbo lag on the Skylines is worse than on the GTO's, however.

We need to clarify between 2 things.
1. Fastest lap time around a track.
2. Fastest in top speed.

For 1 the LM cars are best.
For 2 the Race Modded Skylines, Supras and GT0's are best as you have 1000+ HP.
Exception to 1 is at the High Speed Ring and Test Track.

I tried a R32 Skyline. Don't remember which one but it had a calsonic blue paintjob (like most can get) with white rims. It wasnt as fast as an R33 and handled much worse. I didnt even set an official time at SSR5 with it as It was really slow at Trial Mountain, not even close to times set by my other tuned cars and LMs.

The Supra RZ set a time about a sec slower than an FTO LM or RX7 LM. Its really fast but overpowered and being rearwheel drive made it hell to drive. I bet someone with more skill could set a fast time (not as fast as a cerbera or GTO though). The 4WD GTO and Skyline can put full power down exiting corners but with the Supra id just spin out.

Two things wrong with what you said.

Firstly, no cars in the game have 1000+ hp, the GTO, R32, R33 and Supra have over 900 but not 1000.

Second, A fully tuned GTO or Skyline isnt useless on a real track, their handling may not be that of an LM but they make up for it with crazy fast acceleration in between 100 and 200 mph. As long as you dont let the revs get to low, you can achieve lap times as fast as any LM on most tracks.

I have not played GT1 for over 24 months now, But I remember tuned R33 and tuned Supras with 1000 + hp. Or is that with GT2 or 3??. I will however agree with 900 HP +.

The only tracks I could get times close to the LMs is as I said Test track and high speed ring so I will disagree with you on that point.
The tuned Skylines etc just did not corner as fast.

Based mainly on the Grand Valley 300...
  • Fully-tuned race-mod GTO'95MR is faster than the GTO LM.
  • Fully-tuned race-mod Supra'95RZ is faster than the Castrol Supra GT. (new Supra RZ should be slightly faster still).
  • Fully-tuned race-mod R32GTR'89 is faster than the Nismo GT-R LM
  • Fully-tuned race-mod Impreza'94WG is very comparable to the Impreza Rally Ed
  • Almost anything is faster than the Chaser LM

The Cerbera LM and the RX-7 LM are very good. The Concept Car with aero is ridiculously excellent. All NSX's are hard to drive. Turbo-lag on tuned Imprezas tends to contrast sharply with pleasant characteristics of Rally Ed. The Silvia LM is easy to drive, and pretty fast, but not stupendously so. I never found the FTO LM or del Sol LM to be as outstandingly excellent as some people suggest, but I never really used them much, either.

My diary (follow the "Grand Valley 300 Results" thread)

This is somewhat unscientific, because my ability was different at different times. Okay, so maybe I can't get the proper limit of cornering on the LM models...

But I did manage the following interesting challenges...

Glad you mentioned the silvia LM, its very underrated in speed, and the easiest to drive of all the LMs. I agree with most of your points, except that a tuned impreza is comparable to a Rally edition, I found the Rally Edtion to be a good second faster in my testing, (Though my testing doesnt take into account tire wear). Id also like to point out that while i agree that the NSX's are hard to drive, they can be very fast. Especially the typeSzero when fully tuned (Its alot faster than the NSXR LM GT2).

I used to test the FTO LM and the Cerbera LM around the high speed ring religously back in the day, I always wanted to know which was faster, I used to do a time trial by first using the FTO to make a lap record, then i'd switch to the Cerbera to try break it. I found the FTO to be ultra fast off the line and ultra stable under cornering, but the Cerbera while being relatively slow off the line had better acceleration and the higher top speed, it also felt alot lighter. In the end I have to say that the Cerbera was probably the better car by far! I always felt to make a fast lap when using the FTO that I needed to drive the thing at the absolute limit but with the Cerbera I found I could make a mistake or two and still get the thing around the track just as fast if not faster than the FTO. I'd also say the CRX Del Sol LM is alot faster than the FTO aswell, maybe even faster than the Cerbera, I recall after going round and round the highspeed ring in the FTO for about an hour and setting what I thought was a pretty damn great time, I then tried the CRX and beat that time on the first flying lap I did with it lol. So one of these 3 cars would be my bet, i'd also say that a fully tuned GTO TwinTurbo or Skyline might have a chance of being up there at the top aswell, though I never really tested these two out properly.
