Best Driving MusicMusic

Whenever I hear this, I just imagine being all alone, in the late hours of the night, driving along on the highway.

I have this song in my driving playlist on GT5...

Of course, who could forget "Breathe" by Telepopmusik? Come on, it was in a Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial a few years ago!

Or anything by Zedd on his album "Clarity" gets me psyched up. But for chilling out... J Dilla, Nujabes, Nomak, Blazo, etc. are all great.

"I Think Im Paranoid" - Garbage (if you don't hear this song in your head every time you start your engine, play more GT2 :)

"Fools Gold" - The Stone Roses

"All You Do Is Talk" - BRMC

"Don't Look Back" / "Long Time" - Boston

"The Twilight" - Cut Copy

"Still Alive" - Mt Eden

"Cliffs of Dover" - Eric Johnson

"Lotus Flower" - Radiohead

"Compliments" / "On" - Bloc Party

"Amor Fati" - Washed Out

"Glitter Freeze" - Gorillaz

"Better Day" - STS9

"The Modern Age" - The Strokes

"River of Brake Lights" - Julian Casablancas

That's a night city driving playlist

In other situations it might be all about: Kings of Leon, Kendrick Lamar, Dre/Snoop, Led Zeppelin, Queens of the Stone Age, Cake, Johnny Cash, VHS or Beta, or maybe even Don Henley's "Dirty Laundry"....you just never know.... :embarrassed:

I have epicly large playlists, been working on transferring them all to Spotify for the past 6 months. My night drive playlist has over a thousand songs in it (a lot of jam albums), so this selection here's just skimming off the very top.

Edit:

I liked:

"Arcade Fire", "Goldroom" (disliked the vocals though), I liked most of "Com Truise" (love synth stuff), "Little Dragon" was pleasant, "Miami Horror" was good.

Oh, wow. I'm in heaven. Thanks bud!

I love that track for sure. Radio Soulwax is a collective of different DJs and producers, really outstanding project. I can put their stream on and just keep it on all day while I work sometimes, you can find their stuff here:

Feeder's Renegades album is full of fast-paced music, I would say that could be a good driving album...

I'd never heard of Feeder until I joined GTP and it seems like a lot of people on here are fans. I've heard them come up a lot. Interesting

I am probably responsible for at least half of the Feeder related posts here. I think most people here like them as they have been featured in the sound tracks for GT1, GT3 and GT4. In the European versions of GT3 their song Just A Day was used in the opening movie.

Well I feel completely out of place here.

As do i, just not into rap.

Here's some of what I listen to.

Zapp & Roger
The Gap Band
Bar Kays
War
Bob Marley
Scientist
The Clash
Mikey Dread
Steel Pulse
King Tubby
Depeche Mode
Nekromantix
Benane Metalik
Sir Mix A Lot
Also some oldies like Brenton Wood, Frankie Vallie, Smokey Robinson, & other classics.

I like listening to stuff like AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, some GT2 music and K-DST from San Andreas. Occationally also some music from NFS Underground, Juiced or if I happen to find myself in a "rally" (online rally, you know) lobby I find some music from the Colin McRae Rally 2.0 arcade modes depending on track and never look back. Or said in a different way, almost any rock or something that makes me reminiscent of a classic game.

Yeah dude those GT2 songs rule, if Sex Type Thing or I Think Im Paranoid ever come on the radio the pedal hits the floor :)

They're meant to be played at clubs or parties.

They do some of the best mixes ever.

Well I feel completely out of place here. I don't like a single song mentioned. My taste is pretty much hip hop.

What kind of hip hop?

Right now I'm listening to MAAD City by Kendrick Lamar, LongLiveA$AP by A$AP Rocky, and a few mixtapes that just came out: Wale - Folarin, Rockie Fresh - Electric Highway, Pusha T - Rath of Cain, and especially loving Saheed & Numonics - Not for nothing right now.

All of it is pretty good "driving music" as well.

I'll contribute to this thread:

Day Drive:

...and a tons of others (I don't want to take up an entire page of music).

Night Drive:

and almost anything by Grum, College, FM Attack, Flashworks, Kavinsky and so on.

Hell yeah man, love the day driving list. Lots of awesome bossa nova rythms and laidback classic pop.

A big cheers to that.
