Best Gr.3 Car ?

I've been using the 991 since release, as soon as I could afford it I bought it. I have over 7000 miles on it. I bought the AMG yesterday and within 5 laps on brands hatch I was 2 tenths off my 991 time (BOP switched on for both cars)

It does have a nicer engine sound, but there isn't as much usable space for decals lol

I'm starting to think I'm the only one who drives the V12 Vantage GT3 in the entire game...
The aliens I met that used the GR3 Mustang on Nurb pre BOP update, are now using the GR3 Aston. I would love them to use the 991 just so I could see where I'm losing so much time to them.

Hahaha, not quite, i have used in 2 races and won 2 races :D, but my most used GT3 car is the Mercedes AMG GT GT3, 11 races and 8 victories :).

Porsche without tuning is a top 3 car
but with tunes that car is average
If you frequent the lobbies you will see a lot of people using the Toyota F1-VGT, and it is really fast. Most of the time they are turning 40.XXX lap times. Haven't got mine that fast yet. Most I have got is a 41 something. :(
FT1 is a lot faster on straights than other cars with specific setup (long 6th gear and low suspension height)
but that car have 1 problem, rev - but there is two aspects of that
1. for beginners, that car is good because is easy to drive even without TCS and other assists
2. for advanced is not that good, because that affect lack of power in acceleration

when considering which car is the best, y'all have to separate it to categories with and without tuning, because that change a lot

i think with setups the Porsche is still one of the fastest cars, at least from what I've seen and tested.
since I bought this game (1.5 months) I do not play anything other than Gr.3 Nurburg 24/Nord (rarely Suzuka or Panorama) with tune and BoP
and I know something about these cars

Porsche is just average with tunes, not rubbish but definitely not even top 5 too

There are multiple ways of setting up or tuning a car that all will result in different results just as there are many different driving styles that at times will favor one car over another in difference.

With the crowd here that frequents these forums just in driving abilities (I am not one of those!) and car setup experience seems as if you are making some pretty bold statements.

many different driving styles
with tunes I only recognize two styles - fast and slow
because 90% cars from that group u can setup for ur preferences (over/under, more grip/speed, etc)

when we talking about non tuned cars then I can agree, because other cars fit to other preferences
I do not like any because these basic settings are poor

Which cars are faster than the Porsche with custom setups, from your tests?

I only drive stock tune, stock gears and bop

I go around ring in 6:29 comfortably in the 991 so I'm not particularly quick, but I don't wear my tires much.
I tried the Amg merc against my ghost and got a 6:28 first try 8-(

I like the Porsche better though.

While I REALLY want to say the RSR....its the M6 that feels the most potent to me. My lap times all seem to be a couple seconds quicker with the M6.

tires rss? fuel/tyre x1?
lobbies or time trials?
that all affect on lap times a lot

Yeh I did my test against the mercedes in arcade mode time trial so I could load my ghost to compare, it was in noon on rss tires. I don't think it has ability to switch on tire wear.

I think time trials are little "faster" than lobbies with realistic settings
my best now on Nordschleife is 6:21:0XX in BMW M6 (rss tyres, lobby with 1x wear, BoP and tune on, rolling start, 1st lap)

I don't know what my best is with current BOP as I only set a comfortable lap to compare against.

I just don't like BMW, I can't get sales rep out of my mind when I see them, I parked my beautiful 991 next to an m6 in a lobby and that thing is huge, looks like a 2 story building compared to the Porsche.

Let me know your lobby settings and I'll have a good crack at it tomorrow in 991/m6/amg and I'll see what I've got.

So today I created a lobby, set to

Nurburgring 12:00
bop
only ABS allowed
tire wear X1 fuel x1
Shortcut penalty strong
Real slipstream

I ran the outlap slow enough not to see any tire wear, 2nd lap in Porsche I did 6:36 with an error when people were joining the lobby, 3rd lap I did a 6:32.439 (on 2 lap old worn tires)

I tried repeating this with AMG merc and was .6 ahead, but made an error when people joining lobby and ended the lap .6 down.

I then put my 1st mile on the odometer of the M6, slow outlap with no visible tire wear, 2nd lap I was 1.2 seconds up before halfway around and the game disconnected me from server! I was the damn host.

I'm only trying to compare cars, so I went into time trial 12:00 noon on Nurburgring and loaded up my 991 6:29.995, 1st lap in the M6 I did a 6:27.418

So out the box, I would say M6 is faster around Nurburgring than AMG, and 991 is slowest.

Ill go and do a balls out lap in my 991 against my M6 ghost.

Edit: 6:28 in 991, I'm miles ahead of the M6, then it comes like a train on the last straight and overtakes me at the blistein sign.
That's a shoddy lap in the M6 too.

Shame the M6 is so damn ugly.

Edit: I wonder why so few use the GTR at the moment. I really enjoyed it yesterday and could easily keep up with the RSR.
Also, the Lexus and Lancer are damn fast too!
Understeers a bit in slow corners and has very poor grip when accelerating resulting in poor launches and tricky corner exit. I'm using it though :D

Hahah i will say the same what, the M6 GT3 is a beautiful car, so i don't agee @JacksHerer :embarrassed:.

I use it a bit myself, but it is a bit slow, or maybe the Audi GT3 have better handling? I used the Audi GT3 in the same race same numbers of laps (Suzuka 8 laps) and with the Nissan i ended on 2nd place, but with the audi i won, but the Audi have 43 more hp than the Nissan.

Not a fan of the GT-R in GTS, it's a boring car and isn't as fast as most other cars and is an OK handler but there are other cars that handles better.

The M6 isn't much of a looker, but it's one of the top Gr3 cars to drive.

I moved from the RSR to the Evo FE. Almost no one seems to be using the Evo, but I‘m having similar or even better results than with the Porsche. It doesn‘t feel as slippery on chicanes and when making mistakes, just more stable overall.

I've been noticing a few of those in the fast times. Nice one :) Anything that isn't the RSR is a win. Getting boring seeing 19 RSR's vs me.

Evo used to be slow-ish, maybe BoP changes made it better, apparently I'm hearing the RC F is also an upcoming underdog car now.

I just finished doing the full Nurburgring Meister golds with all Gr.3 car.

The best results, per section:
1) BMW M6
2) Chevrolet Corvette
3) Hyundai Genisis
4) Mitsubishi Lanser Evo
5) Mercedes-AMG GT
6) Toyota FT-1 VGT
7) Audi R8 LMS
8) Alfa Romeo 4C

I cheated a bit, I had 3 best times with the Porsche 911 RSR but 2 fell recently and I pushed to get the last away.
There is clear advantage in tuning everything to the top, not yet done in the listing above.

Many of the cars are good, some of the cars I also must recommend, on top of the list above:
- Porsche 911 RSR
- VW Beetle
- Peugeot RCZ and VGT
- Jaguar F-Type
- Nissan GTR
- Aston Martin V8
- BMW Z4
- Citroen GT Race Car
- Ford Mustang

To really learn slow in, fast out and pure lines (sometimes frustrating):
- Ferrari 458
- Lamborghini Huracan
- Honda NSX

If you ask 1 car: BMW Z4 (for me a very good combination of fast, agile and stable)

I still like using the evo. As a casual racer i find it easy to race with and easy to replicate the livery as well.
