Big News: Indy Racing League cars & tracks in GT5

A couple of years back, both series raced on the Montreal circuit (before it was IRL). Back then F1 was 8 seconds faster. Don't know exactly where they went with the rules after that.

In 2009, F1 cars were about 100 kg lighter and had 100 hp more, so that's an uneven playing field.

It would be even more interesting to race them with the Panoz DP01. Those turbo open wheelers just sound like a lot of fun.

we have to wait 4 months cuz of marketing.

How can he get the issue of february if we are in january ?
It is really strange... can some other guys go to buy the magazine and see if it's really true ?
It's all too good to be true...

Didn't you see the images? Would be pretty hard to fake those. ;)

I can't speak much for other magazine categories, but this is how they have released for as long as I can remember! A magazine released in January is for the February time-frame.

Besides, do you really think those images were made up?!

Thanks Digital-Nitrate for posting the pictures.

If all that comes truth (weather/night racing/1000 interiors/good online) I salut to Mr Yamauchi.

I'm now officially (again) considering importing Japanese version...(well if online is "region free"... and there is more than 20 tracks...)

This is indeed great news; I was starting to think that after all these years PD had somewhat lost the ball on this one, I'm glad that we won't be getting a GT4 in HD but a proper sequel that innovates (at least for the GT series).

Having a night version of EACH track is awesome, and weather effects is even better. Those two things just made GT5 something really special to me. Sure, IRL and Nascar are cool too, but weather and day and night cycle is what really matters to me! Damage on all cars is awesome too!

Hope to see/hear some more details in the coming days...I simple screenshot of a night track in the rain would suffice :)

not saying you are wrong, but i do hope that it is a day and night cycle, not just a day time version and a night time version.

Well, night version for all tracks is already good enough for me, as long as the day & night cycle is available in 24hour races or other endurance races. :)

A simultaneous release has been suggested previously, KY has given a date for Japanese release and said EU and NA would be shortly after.
If it was a simultaneous release (all released on same date) then Japan would be released first followed by EU then NA several hours after each other. Sorry, just being optimistic.

EDIT: Sorry, he's only given month, not date.

An off topic question: Is there any online store that sells this magazine and sends worldwide? i'd love to have this poster (and unfortunaly, i live in Brazil)
What is more interesting to you, the mag itself or just the poster? I might be able to help if just the poster. PM me if you want to chat.

I think you just didn't expect the link and are just being picky:sly: He proved his point, just accept it.
Being picky? That link only showed that Kaz assured us the games will be finished at the same time. The post I replied to wrongly said that he PROMISED the game will release in US and EU shortly after. That isn't what Kaz said at all - he simply said that the release SHOULD be close together. To cap it all off, I did not lie - all kinds of things get mentioned and "promised", yet disappear into that big gaming black hole.

That was using the old Champ Car Lola-Cosworth which is much faster than the IRL Dallara-Honda. An F1 car would destroy an IRL car on any road or street circuit.

On an oval though, now thats something GT5 will give us the chance to find out...:D

I'm going to predict F1 still for an oval with Monza-wing setup, the difference in power is going to be tough to beat, even with lower drag.
Of course, it all depends on which era of F1 car we get, if its just the F2007 it will be closer than the 1980s turbo era qualifying specials with over 1000bhp.

If any real F1 car (Other then the F2007) is on GT5, then it'll likely be from 2007-2008 since apparently, none of the 2009 cars are available.

Check out his last post if you, for some reason, don't believe me...
For the benefit of the lazy, I did just that!

Maybe I'm sometimes sarcastic or ironic, or I have tendencies of dark humor. Sorry for that.

However, I'm just a human.

I don't understand why you think I bashed anyone, I just have a statutionary right to be pro or contra about anything here, as well as the right to justify my stances.

Example above was constructive irony.

But because you're not the first in the last month that accused me for bashing - and I was just trying to give my view over flood of new topics and such that we discuss over and over again every few months because people are ingnorant about "search" button or reviewing posts history allthrough the community - I'm getting out of here.

Thanx for your inputs, if you think - and many others as well - I was rude and basher because I tried to clean the mess that loops like Wall Street directors, than I see my presence here as irrelevant.

Enjoy your stay, I hope this is going to be a better place without my bashing.

See you when I'll have something un-bashing to offer, regards.
I can't say too much because I do not know how far this goes back or who has been involved, but it sounds like he just spat his dummy out through frustration. I reckon he will do a Schwarzenegger.

I suspect you will be right. I certainly know how Amar may feel as I too have had a few run-ins with a small group of posters here and have had to take an occasional break from even reading the forums just to keep from taking it all too personally. It especially gets ugly when some people go out of their way to spread their personal agendas by disguising opinions as facts and attempting to mislead unsuspecting readers and then resort to flamewars when they are called out for it... fortunately in the case of GTP (unlike many popular opinion based forums) they are the exception and not the rule. 👍

You are so right about "opinions getting passed on as though they are facts" being detrimental to forums. A certain member over at the PS3 forums is terrible for it, and causes no end of arguments.

Anyway, like many others I'm sure, I hope we see him back soon.

I think I know who you are talking about.:P

I don't even go to the PSN forums anymore because it's so bad.
