It's not worth it because I'll be spending money I could put towards a better TV.
Fair enough, you're saving up for a funky $1200 HDTV. That's cool. I think myself and others were just questioning your simple statement that because you didn't have $1200, therefore you weren't buying a HDTV. By all means, save up $1200 and buy a really cool HDTV.

If I thought it was worth it, I'd have saved up $1200 before buying a HDTV myself.

Anyhoo, I finished the game myself a couple of hours ago. I really liked it. I liked it so much I've already started a new game so I can mop up some of the stuff I missed and improve on my achievements.

Got to the Neptunes part and I'll admit I'm kind of bored. The gameplay is getting old fast (hack, shoot, search), the vita chambers remove any incentive to avoid death so there's no challenge unless you manually reload after you "die" (which I can't be bothered to do and shouldn't frankly have to do), I can see the plot twist a mile away (won't spoil, although if you didn't guess you probably haven't played other certain games).

It's a well presented game, but I was hoping for the next Deus Ex or even Oblivion to really capture both my imagination AND interest. Blatantly overrated in my eyes and the "bandwagonners" it's generated is annoyoing - might even end up being traded back in while I can still get a good price.

I doubt it's my taste in games as I've enjoyed many similar (Deus Ex, KOTOR, SotC), was just looking for some fresh gameplay and a less predictable story.

Ah well, no big deal, but thanks for finding that out... and congrats on finishing in hard!

I assume the ending was the same as well? If so that's a missed opportunity.

On the upside, I bet there are a lot of hidden Easter Eggs in the game, as the developer's seemed to have a good sense of humor. 👍

Same ending.

FYI, if you save all Litte Sisters, you get the "good" ending, but if you harvested any, you get the "evil" one (which is very poor in my opinion).

I played the demo last night and I really liked it, I think I'm just going to pick it up for a rental though because it doesn't seem like it's all that hard.

Yes, I forgot to say that it really isn't that hard. If you really think situations through you can kill enemies pretty easily. The end boss I was expecting to be pretty tough on Hard, but I cracked it second try.

Still, one of the best games I've played on the 360 though. It's just not going to have a huge replay factor.

I think the game can be played through twice (I'm on my second play through) as you can miss a lot on the first play and getting all the achievements will take some time (still got something to photograph). And I enjoy it enough to play at least twice. But to play it again after that, well if you could've played with ALL plasmids etc from the beginning then I'd play it again. But twice will be enough for most people. Luckily it lasts quite well, if you don't rush too much.

I agree with that and I think thats the same for most FPS shooter campaigns where your by yourself. On easy its at least 15-20 hours to beat. Much longer on the harder difficulties. I have also heard some people complaining about the guide arrow. That can be turned off in the options.
Bioshock is definetly one of the best FPS single player campaigns I have ever played. Its right up there with Half Life 2 for sure. I beat it on Friday and definetly plan on playing through at least one more time. 👍

Yes, that would appeal to me. Playing again through from scratch is bit repetitive and boring so I'm possibly not going to finish it the second time. Pity, I'd love to play it through a second time with enough of an advantage to make it worthwhile.

Meanwhile, Guitar Hero 2 is still eyeing me up!

Wow. Just got this game and expected to see some good insight on it in this thread.

Instead I find a bunch of ridiculous comments from console fanboys. Even if I'm 3 years late, I still must say.

IT'S A FREAKING VIDEO GAME CONSOLE YOU NERDS! WHO THE HELL CARES WHICH ONE IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER!
