Tried this TT just now again, found a few more techniques that helps, should be able to do a mid 2:01 if I get a reasonable lap in but a bit tricky to get car in that perfect zone.

I only got gold for the full lap time trial. I didn't bother to do the others. Do you have to get gold trophies to access the event?
Might just need to get any trophy but if it still does not unlock, probably Gold is required

Gave the Bonus event a try and I managed to get a 2:04.841. What techniques do you have? I realised that with this car, you can brake much later than you think and a lot of time can me made up simply by braking later for all of your corners to get that 2:01 we're looking for 👍 .

After watching immortalpilots laptime of 2:01:9xx, i managed after 2 laps to slide my way into 26th position with 2:03.3xx. I like the feel of the car as it feels realistic. But to make a fast lap there is some really heavy braking and acceleration, almost powersliding out of corners. That for a fact only works on like, carrera cup cars and nascar in real life. As far as gt cars work, sliding is not of the techniques to go fast.

Like i said, impressive feeling ingame. But to drive fast, it is nothing near realistic.

If you see my replay, you can see some of my techniques. Messed up last sector, otherwise potentially could have beaten IMMORTALPILOTs time but I know I got enough pace to beat that. Probably see later on today low 2:01s or even 2 minute times though. Luffield is probably the trickiest part for me to get through it consistently. Just found another way to do it which is faster, probably technique needed for sub 2:01 but difficult to do getting car to slide around it quite tightly. I can see now how I can do sub 2:01 now but will be hard to do.

I ended up running a 2.08 in my spotting lap, when I started pushing it I got about 2.6 ahead of my original ghost.. until a millimetre of my tyre went onto the green turf before the final 3 corners and I got an invalidated lap.

So my time will probably end up staying there since I can't be bothered dealing with the penalty system - I'm not too bothered, it's not bad for just doing a couple of laps and there's no point in trying to reduce that time .

Very nice car to drive though, the new aerodynamics felt awkward at first but I got into the groove of it after a couple of laps and you can certainly feel the improvements.

But the thing is that there is horrendous understeer and when you step on the gas in an attempt to get it to turn the car doesn't even turn until you turn the steering wheel more and then you have difficulty controlling the car.

Ran a 2:05.354 after a few laps. Could definitely go faster if I wanted to put time into it.

I like how aero does seem to come into play more at high speed, I definitely feel more grip the braver and faster I approach the fast corners. On my own I was tip-toeing through Copse around 95 mph, to sustain smoothness, but then I watched some replays and realized the faster you went the better it could stick, to a point... so now 100 through there's easy. Similar story goes for M-B-C (Maggots-Becketts-Chapel).

But then there's the problem of being able to easily control wheel spin and make it faster. Coming out of Brooklands going through Luffield it's especially evident. Multi-apex it like in the GTA qualifier, but now as soon as you short shift to third you can just floor the hell out of it, do some light counter steering, and literally burnout on exit for a much faster launch out of there.

You can do the same in Stowe. Vale and Club too, to a degree.

So yeah, lack of tire wear really makes this annoying, besides that, I'm really loving this first sampling of GT3 in GT6, looking forward to more and driving it in the final product, with tire wear on of course.

Oh and racing them :D

Managed to get a gold trophy after 10+ attempts. Still getting used to the new physics, but I like it.

Here's my 2:08.172 run: (Dualshock 3)

Not ideal, but I'm happy. ^_^'

I also find the car understeers horribly, even after changing steering sensitivity, but managed a 2:07 with relative ease.

All the fast USA guys must have jobs. I didn't think there was any way I'd still be in 2nd this afternoon.

Maybe tonight, we might see some aliens turn up to set times. I wonder if anyone will get under 2:01 today. I think my best sectors are only good enough for a low 2:01 but I know I haven't nailed middle sector yet that well. Annoyed with myself for messing up on last sector again for a potential 2:01.5 .

2:06.017

I know there's one or two seconds to improve if I only take a better line

I'm using a DS3

Oh, heck yeah! This is more like it. A real Race Car with race tires and downforce on a high speed track. Gave it a cursory run then didn't want to stop. Had a 2:05.8xx with relative ease after a half hour. I'll be going back for more.

Yeah, there's exit understeer to deal with but the high speed downforce feels nice. Going to have to go back and run the car in GT5 to compare. Here it has a believable feel, not a generic on rails feel like so many GT5 race cars.

edit: Didn't realize this is a different car than the Schulze GTR in GT5, doh!

Hi

I have got trophy in all the events, but playing GT3 Academy 2013 Final Bonus Event, The gold trophy doesn't seem to be registering for me...
Are you having the same problem? What is wrong?

Hi Guys!

Im not sure what is the best line to follow in the third sector... im killing the exit speed. My best lap time so far is 2:04.3. If I correct my worng line maybe its possible to go under 2:04.00. Any suggestion??

Regards

Got an embarrassing 2:08.6xx, (gold is good enough for me... I guess...) and exited to find I didn't have gold. I checked all my other trophies, I saw the above posts earlier today (they were still there). So I did it AGAIN, and got gold again, but it didn't register.
Funny, people got to this event early, and it was fixed almost immediately. People have been having this problem since it was available, not to mention all the time they had to prepare.
