I have only driven the final trial event on the controller, but it is impossible to take certain turns at the same speed as you can on the wheel. Why do Gran Turismo insist on making the controller at a disadvantage so you can't have the same turning rotation as the wheel? I have played on the controller on racing games for years now and this is the way I feel most comfortable playing, but it is frustrating when you watch the #1 ghosts take corners up to 5mph quicker than you can, purely because of the steering input.

/rant.
If you are not using E-brake already than that should help. I can imagine it being hard with the normal controller especially as car setup is to understeer. In seasonal TTs with tuning I notice controller setups are usually super loose when driving with wheel, only way to keep up with wheel on maximum level.

The steering angle input for this car is wrong in my opinion. Requires way too much.
The way to drive it also is wrong, you have to drive with rear of car as much as possible so minimising steering and getting back end out and flooring it is key to going fast with this car instead of trying to take corners with a more realistic approach.

Yeah I noticed one time last night that I did a burnout coming out of Luffield and it actually rocketed me past my ghost. Totally realistic. :P

Luffield is key to getting a good lap. You can make a lot of time there through drifting through there in 3rd gear and flooring it .

So, I've improved my time, checked all the other events. They all have green check boxes and gold trophies.

The GT3 event has a green checkbox.. but no gold trophy, even though I've run a 2'04.767 and I'm 49th in the US.

Im sitting in the 200's in the US right now, but I just can't get my head around this car. It seems so incredibly unpredictable. Now, I have never driven a GT3 car, but have driven some high powered turbo'd cars and the understeer/oversteer feeling just does not feel right. The balance can change in the middle of a corner and it is never exactly the same. Could come down to a poor set up but I have no idea.

Same here. Have golded it several times, times show up as gold, but no gold trophy. Anyone have a suggestion? I hate not having it show up.

Many people have brought up this problem, no solution yet sadly.:nervous:

I think you guys are driving this car wrong I recon with at least an hour I can do a low 2:02 without sliding or handbrake I did a 2:04.3 with alot of stuff ups without sliding after my 2nd lap

Tried to win $100 at a uni event today involving mini tricycles and aggravated an injury I had...don't know how long I'll have to stay away from GT for...very frustrating :grumpy:

That 2:02 without sliding won't be as easy as you think.

No, it definitely won't be too easy. I put some time in last night (had to drive automatic since I had to keep the sound down so no one woke up) and am up to 37th in the US at a 2:04.2xx, and with my ability I maybe have a half second left out there, but there does have to be some sliding, particularly at Luffield and Stowe. R1600:, beautiful lap man, been using your ghost and damn you are quick, haha.

I'm on a 2:02.8 without sliding. I have 0.3 secs left in that lap. You won't touch the fastest people without sliding that's for for sure.

Actually i take that back ^^. I just messed up a 2:02.3 on the last turn, had to handbrake that to keep me from running off lol. a 2:02.2 without sliding and handbraking is possible. Thatll be my absoloute limit. You will never ever see me sliding a car round on gran turismo lol

I would love to see a replay. There is not nearly as much sliding in the GTR GT3 as there was in the 370 anyway. Even the fastest times with the GTR there is not MUCH sliding, but there is some. The one place that it is almost necessary is at Luffield.

Im down to a 2:02.6 now. I wont be able to make a world top 10 without sliding and as your not in the UK theres no way to see it lol. Ask one of the other englandites who have watched it i guess lol

Only because the top people from the 370Z trial haven't put any effort into this one yet.

And my internet is down for the next week, so hopefully I don't drop too far.

I would try, but I'm just not motivated enough to do it. :P

Hahah, I wasn't disbelieving of you, just thought maybe you could screen capture it or something.

How do I get a video on here? I can do it when I get in from work tonight.

I found some time to run this event yesterday.

I must say I am really impressed. It is amazing how different this car feels from the tuned Z from the GTA competition. To me, in GT5, the different classes of cars would act differently from eachother but the feel would be similar. For example a GT500 car would take turns faster and be harder to control at the limit than say a miata. But the feel through the wheel would be similar.

In this demo, not only does the GT3 car act differently from the tuned Z, but the car feels completely different. The bite of the tires feels different, the amount of rotation to the wheel isn't even the same linearity. This is very much like if you drive 2 completely different vehicles in real life.

I hope this carries into the new GT6. To me this franchise is pushing toward the simulation side instead of the arcade side. Awesome!👍

Are a lot of people having issues with the gold/cleared not showing for the final trial? I know I've seen a couple and it registered fine on my alt account but my primary isn't showing even after quitting and beating my time and also resetting the PS3 and beating my time. I wonder if the maintenance is scheduled to fix this? :scared:

So nobody cares about this one?

Surprised to see I'm still in 2nd.
I'm more surprised by the times at the top, even though there is quite a few top drivers who have tried this TT, no one seems to have done a lap that is amazing yet.

Haven't played for a few days but tempted to play it again as 1st place is still within reach for me. Practicing for GT Academy must be taking up too much time of the alien fast drivers, hopefully Ti-tech85 attempts this TT and shows what is possible. Sub 2:01 should be possible from what I've seen on my laps before but slightly tricky to get car in that perfect zone to go fast.

Because useing the handbrake more than actual brakes is the fastest way, that's why no one is bothering lol

There is still people who were near the top of the GT Academy TT still attempting this TT though and that kind of style is similar to actual qualifying time trial. This car needs handbrake to get the same effect as last TT did with normal braking due to having much more understeer.

This car is a POS, isn't this car supposed to be a RWD car? It handles exactly as the AWD GT-R of the two previous TT !!!
