To be honest I don't watch those channels (or visit that website). I'm glad his baleful influence over the broadcast-watching masses has been diminished, though. Every cloud has a silver lining and it's an ill wind that blows no one any good.

Not sure what the nurses etc etc are supposed to do when they get off their 14 hour shift and find the pumps are dry...!

Bloody toilet rolls all over again.

Selfish idiots have emptied all the petrol stations in our area in a few hours, because of panic buying.

Not sure what the nurses etc etc are supposed to do when they get off their 14 hour shift and find the pumps are dry...!

As of Sunday evening not one petrol station i drove past in Sheffield had diesel. A couple had unleaded but they also had huge queues. I was down to under a qtr tank on Saturday morning and needed to drive up to York. Had to go 8 miles out of the city before i found somewhere with diesel, and even then it took me 20 minutes to get to a pump. It's ridiculous!

As far as I've read, there wasn't a short of petroleum products, just not enough drivers to lump it about. So a run on the pumps depleting current reserves actually... has created a petroleum shortage and a lorry driver shortage.

I can't think of it but I'm sure there must be an old metaphor about creating your own avoidable problems; inaction and normal behaviour would have been fine but doing anything has completely effed it.

Amid all this, the news of several energy suppliers going under recently doesn't bode well. I may not live in the UK but people's energy and heating bills going up just before winter approaches isn't something I want to happen, especially if they don't have any real say in the matter.

Anyway, he has a whole-life order for:

• Using his position as a police officer to:
  • Falsely arrest Sarah Everard
  • Imprison Sarah Everard
• Her kidnap
• Her rape
• Her murder
• Dumping and burning her corpse

Apparently when arrested (and there was CCTV footage of him "arresting" her), he claimed an Eastern European gang made him kidnap her and give her to them because he'd "ripped off" one of their escorts.

And now we have to have the discussion about how solitary members of the public should respond when detained by a solitary police officer. So thanks for that, you utter ****.

That's really difficult to impose, because then you have to specify exactly what that uniform is, and suddenly you open up the door to countless wrongful arrest opportunities (i.e. they weren't wearing a hat, it wasn't buttoned correctly, the footwear was incorrect)
