He had quite a head start mind as he became King age 4. Though even for a monarch in the 18th century living to 76 is pretty good going. She is (was?) 2 years away from dethroning (hah) Louis the XIV as the longest reigning monarch.
Would it surprise you if the only reason she lasted this long was because she was determined to dethrone him at the top spot?He had quite a head start mind as he became King age 4. Though even for a monarch in the 18th century living to 76 is pretty good going.
Well, it's always good to get one up on the French where you canWould it surprise you if the only reason she lasted this long was because she was determined to dethrone him at the top spot?
I had always heard that he wanted to use George as his regnal name after his Grandfather.King Charlie III imminent

Has been like that in the past.Is it just me or does it look like she's got some kind of trauma going on with her right eye, and her hands probably shouldn't be that colour?

I am seeing quite a bit of discussion that the UK may soon fall apart following Elizabeth's passing. Is that closer to reality or is it still a bit of wishful thinking by separatists?Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth II
Although inevitable, Queen Elizabeth II's passing today is a real watershed moment.
I personally don't think it makes much difference, though it is another straw on the camel's back as it were.I am seeing quite a bit of discussion that the UK may soon fall apart following Elizabeth's passing. Is that closer to reality or is it still a bit of wishful thinking by separatists?
All it took was meeting Mary Elizabeth Truss to make her tap out. She’s seen a lot in her reign and she’s leaving a UK in quite a bit of turmoil.
There's going to be some wrangling for sure, but probably not that. Can we please become a republic now...
Which reminds me, one of those banal but necessary changes that presumably must happen overnight tonight, is the Royal Mail will have to change the machines that produce the stamps. I hope the people responsible for doing this are not on strike or if so return to work tonight/tomorrow due to the circumstances.Well the bereavement cards will be a couple of days late due to the postal strike today and tomorrow.
I don't think Brexit is the biggest problem per se. But you have PMs like Liz Truss who's (am I wrong?) supposed to be the libertarian supply-sider candidate but the first thing she's doing is giving out printed money for heating bills.I personally don't think it makes much difference, though it is another straw on the camel's back as it were.
Brexit, and the Tory politicians and voters that made it happen, however, is like the entire harvest of Ukraine dumped on the camel's back.

Queen Elizabeth II - arguably through her judgement, intelligence and graceful dignity - was hugely respected. She commanded more respect that the entire rest of the Royal Family combined... by a HUGE margin.
I say this, however, from the City of Glasgow - a wonderful but damaged city that is still scarred by sectarianism - where it is currently pouring with heavy rain, and I suspect that the fireworks I can now hear are not some obscure religious festival... though I sincerely hope they are, I doubt it
