It's looking for an argument rather than just accepting it as an accident. When adding the description of the item, it makes sense to run from the top down - if it had an old man-style elasticated waist, then that would come first.
It reminded me of when Halfords had complaints from customers because they used 'girls' and 'boys' to describe bikes, claiming that they were being discriminatory against girls.
