WILL LESBIANS HAVE SEX WITH TAXPAYERS?

I'd better go pay some taxes, you know, just because...

Tsh, you're an American student import, you don't pay real taxes. Just silly old VAT.

Please ignore that I'm on the dole.
What? You mean I have to wait until I graduate uni and get a job to have sex with lesbians?

COULD CHAVS INFECT THE BRITISH PEOPLE WITH AIDS?

ARE YOBS RIPPING OFF COMMON SENSE AND DECENCY?

IS BRUSSELS MAKING THE MEMORY OF DIANA OBESE?

WILL BRUSSELS INFECT THE QUEEN WITH AIDS?

I think that site has a code where it converts actual DailyMail.co.uk headlines into these randomised headlines. I don't think I'll be able to breathe if I tried using that.

This Daily Mail-o-matic thing is jolly good fun!

HAVE GAYS GIVEN YOUR HOUSE CANCER?

WILL THE GERMANS GIVE THE QUEEN DIABETES?

HAS THE HUMAN RIGHTS ACT DESTROYED COMMON SENSE AND DECENCY?

Wow.

Since when did the BBC allow openly racist political parties to air party election broadcasts?

I just watched such a broadcast by 'Britain First' - can't quite believe what I just saw.

Where's the line? Who draws it? What's their mandate - as a bias-free, state-funded national broadcaster - to determine what information about parties campaigning in elections can be hidden from the public who would vote based on that information?

Banning one political party from airing an election broadcast is a precedent to ban as many others as you like if you don't agree with their message. Which would be all of them except the one you do like...

Besides, it'd probably do "Britain First" more harm than good to have their idiocy exposed like that.

I'm with Famine on this. Same goes for the furore over Nick Griffin appearing on Question Time.

How does one arrange for such a broadcast though? If there's a fee involved, I'm curious to know their sources or backers.

Long story short: If you prevent a party from getting their voice heard, or censor their message, you're only granting them free martyrdom. And that tends to benefit them in the voting booth.

I once saw a play called 'The Hostage' by Brendan Behan...

During one scene where an IRA officer is talking, a side character appeared on stage and said "The words of the IRA officer are being spoken by an actor"...

They're such perfectionists those provos that they used professional voice actors at all times. Perhaps the balaclavas made them sound like they were mumbling.

Here's the Trust code. It's a thorny issue, personally I believe that any party eligible for an election has a right to set out its manifesto.

Democracy is filthily unpleasant, let's remember that :)

I've never understood the problem with that. If the man wants to go on TV and confirm himself to be a fat-headed berk then he's welcome to as far as I'm concerned.

"Better to keep your mouth shut and have people suspect you're an idiot, than to open it and remove all doubt".

BBC radio reported overnight that a tremor has come to UK politics, with UKIP taking over 25% of available votes outside London. They say that if this sort of momentum is sustained through 2015, it'll amount to an earthquake.

The vote across Europe is still being tallied, but a similar tide seems to be rising against the EU.

That's literally true but very unlikely to happen.

UKIP haven't made any council gains at all and the Conservatives have lost a few. The overall balance remains pretty much the same with New New (Classic) Labour (Ed not Dave) making the strongest gains. (Hums Red Flag cheerfully).

As far as the England/NI elections go they don't mean a whole lot for the elections; Britons often vote against the government-friendly candidates and vote 'fringe' parties in. Remember that this isn't for governmental or national power, it's not that kind of election. UKIP did pretty well at this point last time.

That said, I believe Britain will hang its parliament with the General ballot next time around.

At the current rate UKIP will have at most 5 MPs in next years election. Not really huge.

Exactly, and added to that the impetus from this election rarely carries through for "fringe" parties. The word "fringe" so often begs the word "lunatic" in front of it, doesn't it? :D

UKIP appear to be gaining support in my area.

If you read their website, I'm struggling to think of people I know that wouldn't vote for them, based on their headline policies. My area is a consistent Conservative stronghold by the way.. Labour supporters seem to be switching, or being replaced by, KIPpers.

I think it's all a load of bovine testicles personally. I just want a party that represents my opinions :D
