OK.

This means that @canyondrifter is now in a Top 10 locked-in position for tomorrow.

I won't be promoting a reserve just yet as I need to reduce the maximum entry by one to 24, to allow an extra steward to observe Pre-Q. 👍

Updated information for tomorrow 👍

I like your thinking Rolo, great move this. 👍

My BT broadband is running okay so far, no lag issues and both ping and jitter tests are stable. Download and upload speed isn't anything special but reliability is the key. I'm on a brand new phone line (to the pole), new phone number and connection at the cabinbet. Also have a brand new ethernet connection to the ps3 which is the shortest possible length to the BT home hub. So....I should be good to go.

Only real issue is the extreme lack of practice and testing, I've pretty much boycotted GT6 since the Megane issue, so I'm not expecting to qualify tomorrow, instead I'm simply aiming to have a trouble free race without any connection worries.

I'm rather gutted that I'm no longer a steward, because I would have loved a locked in spot on the grid, I had to back out of the Megane series for the good of the grid, I couldn't race with an unstavle connection.....that should be solved now. :D I did well in season 5, so hopefully after a few weeks I'll have a locked in place.....watch your backs.

Great news for Canyon. :)

What colours are people using???

Myself and Canyon were going to run blue cars, but I don't mind changing to keep the grid looking good.

Right then, if you're definitely in Ian, then @AudiMan2011 I guess I have the green light to race for Chivas this season? What colours are you sporting?

You're cool to join up with the Chivas line-up, you're a great match of talent for Street and you're probably in with another shot at winning the team's. 👍

Canyon and I were supposed to be running Blue as our colour, but I hate seeing too many cars that are the same colour on the track, different colours look pretty and you've a good idea who is in the following car at a quick glance in the rearview.

It's a go for you to team up with me. We'll run Liquid Yellow as team colours.
God help the rest of us now. :nervous:

EDIT// Just done another ping test, ping is 26ms and jitter is 1ms. I hope that's good enough.

I've just opened a room for practice, ID 1472-6118-4216-8218-7098

@Ian_83 have you tried online yet? I sent you a PSN

Edit: Room closed. I'm struggling to get into the 36s :scared:

Just to clarify a little something - if a reserve driver manages to be inside the Top 10 then they won't be locked in as they're not guaranteed a race - so the 11th driver would get it instead 👍

Rolo - What times are you getting around Spa with the Volvo and other FF's?

I'm stuck at a 2:38.5xx :(

I was a bit curious about the reserve drivers in the Jack Sears event. For instance can a reserve driver knock out a full timer if they get in the top 6? Or will reserves have to wait until the actual race to be sure there is space?

I appear to be hosting the unofficial BTCC-7 practice lobby. If anyone wants to join please send me a friends request and I'll add you. ;)

If a reserve driver is racing then they have as much right to qualify as anyone else. All reserves will have to pre-qualify though regardless of Top 10 placing or not - it's only fair to the full-time guys. If reserves don't qualify then they score JST points.

Current times for me:

Renault - 2:35.866 (low 36 more realistic since understeer is pretty bad)

Peugeot - 2:35.951

Ford - 2:35.964 - something of a problem car this - a second slower to Les Combes than the Renault, but wins it all back through the corners in sector 2. If you get the chicane right you keep up the time. Was doing 36.8s until then.....

Volvo - 2:36.200 (36.0 possible)

Nissan (from the other day with setup) - 2.36.1 possible (2:36.618 recorded)

Nissan don't seem to draft other cars that well, thought my higher gearing would sort it.

I was toeing Canyon draging him in real slow, And Ian made up loads of time on me.
So weird that a car will not draft as well as others.

Anyway all Nissan drivers pls give feed back on drafting other cars once Spa out the way

Current times for me:

VW - 2:35.075 - spec change imminent before tomorrow.

Tempted to switch to Peugeot myself...

i don't actually know. Because I haven't seem him in 2 weeks ish >.< and he hasn't signed onto psn for 50 days. Ps im struggling in it, getting 2:39.6 average, seem a bit sluggish but am getting there slowly

I'm still here just occupied with college exams, do you have any ideas for the team name Bren?

Team Wangan?
SB Motorsports?

Before GT6 came out they said they had revised the aero so I guess that different body shapes draft differently. The Renault gains loads under slipstreaming (at Spa last week I was gaining people a lot more than vice-versa), but your saying the Nissan is a poor drafter which is odd because a saloon shape is better irl

hey guys im back. tesing complete. Interesting results I think. I feel the FF cars need a bit more help compared to the Nissan. the understeer is not so much there ally as is there better overall speed. Yes they are faster along the straights but I feel they suffer a bit too much through the corners. Still with proper tuning they can be fairly similar in times. I still feel the Nissan has the slight edge though overall as a car despite its drafting weakness. It would probably be best to stick with a time trial tune for it and manipulate the draft as just an extending helping hand instead f depending on it. Let the FFs beat it the straights while you mercilessly massacre them along the turns sections. I see he point of making it fair but in the right hands conserving momentum is key to this race

I have a room open of anyone wants to run a few laps. It's set as 'friends only' so make sure that I'm on your friends list prior to starting GT6.
