It doesn't matter which is better, you're not in the Top 10 in the Championship points so you're not locked in anyway.

Obviously it's better to be locked-in, but you aren't.

Then can I race just at 7h 30?

No, you have to go through Pre-Qualifying, which means arriving for 7.

If Pre-Qualifying is cancelled because not enough drivers turn up, then you can take part in the races that are meant to start at 7.30, but will start earlier if Pre-Qualifying is cancelled.

Locked drivers are just for drivers which are on top 10, right?

You sure there nothing else your like to ask rolo, come on you must have another question for him.
I would join in but I can't think of anything to ask him.

I was going more for getting some timed laps done too as I usually do, but yeah if there's time for a little bit of racing. Pits would be good to assess the lag.

I make it 4 laps.
If say there like 6 of us then maybe up to 6 laps with a pit stop.

I hope that you two can both race this time. 👍 It's horrible when connections mis-behave like that.
My Isp is normally paid just after my pay day, but they changed it to Saturday, of which I have no money till my next pay day (20th D: ) so I called them up and they just said, unless you can pay you have no net till 20th, then I cried myself to sleep (jk ofc).

Don't tempt!

OK, I did some times earlier until PSN decided I'd played enough for now:

Ford 1:29.477
VW 1:29.570
Renault 1:29.580
Peugeot 1:29.588
Volvo 1:29.750

well damn, I am in 30.5ish with vw, I really don't know where I am loosing time. I do use pad, do you use wheel? (I am not digging setup just driving style)

Line and flow are very important round here, especially in Sector 1. A lot of the corners need slow entry speeds and fast exit speeds.

I use DS3 and auto gearing, pretty much the most basic setup you can have.

I think that explains it all, some body got lost!

break in a straight line then turn in for me also rarely use full break or steering.
ps:just git dumped so am in a frustrated and annoyed mood.

-Do you let the flow/run free in the corners (no brakes or throttle) so you stay tight in the corner until u see a clear line for the exit and then power out?
-or is it better to stay on the throttle as much as possible?
-or should u always either be on brakes or throttle and minimize the gap in between?

Hey Rolo, I have some free time this month so if there is still space I would like to join you (again) for the last few rounds? :)
The car I would prefer to use is the BMW. I am aware that I need to do the pre-qualify race thing to get in to the main rounds.

Also I am interested in joining the one-make series thing on Tuesdays, I take it that it is of a similar procedural format?

Thanks

I am in manual, and I do try use racing line slow entry fast exit I just can't get myself on a flow I guess. (I miss my Srt4 -cries-)

I break as late as possible but early enough so I am slowed before the corner, I then feather the throttle round the bend then control my throttle level out of bend until I know I wont understeer off. When defending I use tight line so I park on apex to keep people behind me leaving little gap, and make my car wide on exit. On attacking I break late and switch under like I always have :P

Sure, there's space for this series. BMW is cool, what's your entry name going to be?

Also OK for the one-make, although I will have you make you a reserve at this point so I can't guarantee space there quite as much. It might be alright tomorrow though, I'll have to let you know. What's your car number and entry name going to be for that? Tuesday series format is a little different - there's no Pre-Qualifying, it's just a straight-forward 16-person lounge, with three races. More details in the OP of that thread 👍

You might need to send me a PSN FR again. Welcome back though :)

I thought I had a pace advantage but looks like the ffs are closer than I expected

:sly: It's gonna be a good one. Concerned about the Volvo (unsurprisingly) but I'm sure Ian can work miracles!

That was one bitch ugly car, lol Decently competitive though.

"bitch ugly" is an understatement ;), still wish I would'a been serious from race one and wired my connection. Would have been in the fight for champion ;) but yeah its not that I miss the car its that I miss the grip, VW is a lovely machine 10x more fun to drive, but for me at least, the sweet spot is just un-findable xD

OMG I am in love with the new custom rear wings <3

Shame you can't use them here :sly:

Honestly, I'm glad I banned aero now - all of these possibilities with custom aero seems to complicate things so much. The parts could just be cosmetic but how could you be sure they didn't affect performance?

Ikr mate, Am glad you removed them too, some cars benifeted a lot more then others from it

 Cheers mate, no pressure there then. 👍

Do you know what? In all honesty I have no idea how on earth I'm getting the Volvo around these tracks, it has to be the worst car on the grid, yeah it's quick down the straight but point it at a corner and it turns into a trembling wreck and heads for the nearest gravel trap. I have no idea why Canyon originally chose this car.

I'm even slower than your Volvo times when I'm doing my own testing, but come race time something just clicks.

I would have asked for an extra 20kg weight reduction to help with the lap times, but I don't want to be too quick down the straights and upset anyone. The car is an awkward one to spec and tune.

i am still outpaced by bmws on the straight -.-

It's not THAT bad, just lacks a couple of tenths which race pace could mask to be honest. It's definitely not great, one thing I can definitely say for Season 8 is that the Volvo and VW will not be returning. It's Sector 1 where it struggles, which is where most of the corners are. Switchbacks are nasty for the Volvo.

Peugeot's also rubbish down the straights. Also the worst car off the line lol, pole is pointless when you're 6th by Turn 1. :sly:

Already got replacements lined up for two or three machines, it's just a matter of getting them right. I think I'm basically there but just need to make sure of one or two more things.
