Just watched a cuple of clips on youtube. Horrific accident, probably could have been avoided too by the sounds of it, a safety car would have been a pretty good idea considering the circumstances.
Hopefully he recovers fully from this, only time will tell I guess and in the meantime we have to hope that the doctors and surgens give him every bit of care that they possibly can.
Oddly enough, (this will sound terrible but it isn't intended) the accident could have been so much worse. He could have hit the marshall, or hit the centre of the JCB rather than the rear. Hitting the rear was horrible, but hit the centre and it wouldn't have moved, it'd be like a brick wall.
The FIA have got a lot to learn from this incident and I imagine that the enquiry will be huge.
The FIA are getting a battering from the media apparently, like there's so many questions...
1) Why wasn't the safety car deployed immediately, it is supposed to when a non-racing vehicle enters the track limits.
2) Why were green flags being waved (don't say they were at the first Degna because they were but at that corner they were being waved as Bianchi came round the corner)?
3) Why wasn't the race start time brought forward due to the extreme weather they could've encountered?
More questions, but I can't remember lol
Yeah, it was a stupendous accident, like you said, what if he had hit the middle of the recovery vehicle?...
...
Also, what if the recovery vehicle wasn't there to retrieve Sutil's car? Would Bianchi of even slid off the circuit? Would he of caused marshal casualties?
The FIA and stewards cannot just rest this as a 'racing incident', it's too serious...
Seriously though, I really wish he'll be okay
especially after a diffuse axonal injury
