Nothing wrong with being lazy sometimes.

I haven't learnt all the tracks either. Actually because I don't race all that often, I start to forget my lines on tracks that I did know well. Maybe if A-spec was a bit more entertaining I'd play GT6 more often, but it's just not challenging anymore, yeah I can use underpowered cars or rubbish tyres, but the AI are still dumb :censored:ers. I want a difficulty setting so that I can crank it up to 11 and make it really hard.

I think that Tokyo reverse works fairly well actually and I totally agree with GVS east in reverse too.

Imagine AI harder to beat than @SkengD...

Well Skeng is about a 9 on the difficulty rating, he can be beaten :P so AI that would be faster would be awesome. 👍 More importantly though is the way in which the AI behave, they currently have no skill at all.
Skeng is 10,000 on my scale

Yeah I agree, the AI behaviour is completely ridiculous and dangerous, it just makes A-Spec too easy or either too frustrating. :ouch:

My scale goes from 1-10. I like 11.

too quick for me lol... for now ;) BTCC-9 I'll have you ;)
Well you've been getting quicker, so anything could happen. If you get too quick perhaps Skeng and I can hatch a plan of some description, we don't like people getting between us. :sly:

@1996mikey2412, with hindsight I should of worked with you to try build up a good lead or at least keep the one we had. It was the first time I've been up front in a competitive race like that and I wanted to keep it that way! Lol. If I'm lucky enough to get some more experience up front, I should be able to think further ahead than the next couple of corners and plan for the race as I'm racing. At the moment its a blind panic trying just trying to keep up with you guys. Not room for much more thinking up there at the moment!

^^ Having a plan can help, but quite often the initial plan goes wrong and a new one has to be thought up while racing. In race 2 I didn't even imagine that I'd get the lead, but as soon as I did, my aim was to quite simply break the draft and leave everyone else fighting among themselves. Once the draft was gone I had a little time to think about my pit stop, getting that wrong can ruin a race (my race 1 pit stop was diabolical, I lost so much time it was crazy).

In race 3 I knew that I had to tail someone that was fast and just hang onto them as best as I possibly could. If I lost draft during the race I'd be going backwards for sure.

Certainly working together on a track like Fuji is the best way to get away from the pack. In a test race I teamed up with @AudiMan2011 and we were just pulling away from everyone else. It worked really well. Just bump drafting down the straights and trying not to hold each other up. 👍

This is why I was pushing you on the straight! lol, you didn't get the hint ;)

Yeah Ian, i get what you mean lol, having a power deficiency just means you may as well ride a bicycle lol

Some facts in any racing race behind the car in front.
So you not lose sight of lead pack.
Race 1 I know my race pace could come down as the guys behind fighting for 4th.
And there was no way I was going to caught 1st and 2nd.

But a staight to alot means 3 places come the braking area, on the inside.
Turn 1 wide line in was best but a car well out braking it's self takes out 2 or 3 drivers.
Down to them trying inside over taking.
I will say yeah I hit the brakes a little late for turn 1 a few times.
Had one little tap on Karsten in turn 1 put us both wide, but mainly my line only took me wide if to late.

P.s sorry for that karsten.

the weak draft while used to keep the racing close somehow it can be counter productive at tracks like monza and fuji.

For example 1st place will be out of draft from 2nd and 3rd and because 2nd and 3rd are close enough to draft each other they can and will battle forever while the car with the gap (1st place) runs away with it .

Ive seen this happen in many series over the years , I guess its just part of the game

I've never been good at taking hints  At the time I was wondering why you were pushing me. Thought it was some sort of tatic to keep your tyres or something. It was only after all the racing had finished and I was thinking about it it occurred to me that's what you might have been doing.

If anyone is able to post up or send me race 2's replay I would greatly appreciate it. Wasn't able to save it due to getting disconnected! 🤬

@rolo912011, is there anything that can be done in the case of dc's such as the one last night. Restart the race with the number of laps left and the cars in order of where they were on the last full lap? Just a thought.

Nope. If you're in a real life race and there's five coincedental engine failures on the same lap, the race isn't restarted for their benefit.

A disconnection is the GT equivalent of a DNF, and that's unfortunate but it's just part of racing. If 8 out of 10 drivers DNF but two finish, that's still a legit race to me. If I go, I don't get points either.

Something that may be slightly interesting... provisionally, if I took one drop score off now, the top 5 in the points would be this:

1. rolo912011 - 97
2. PleaseD1e - 96
3. Giorgio_57 - 95
4. Street-King-07 - 95
5. skengdigi - 94

Then Dustybin_ on 80.

so living in jersey im basically driving with an
engine built with lollypop sticks?

I see your point rolo. Just thought we could have some sort of safety car like procedure.
The issue here is that some people just have a generally poor internet connection and they disconnect regularly. Brendon is a perfect example, his internet connection was just so unreliable he would disconnect each week, sometimes a few times per night if he was really unlucky. Stopping the race and restarting it takes time and not everyone wants to be messing around doing a manual grid and waiting for players to rejoin simply because of their internet problems.

If a driver disconnects from the race then it's a technical issue (engine failure), any driver that suffers engine failure are able to rejoin the lobby and race any of the remaining races.

We do run the drop score system which does help. This season there will be two drop scores, so effectively if someone does get a low score due to a connection problem, then it will probably become one of their drop scores for the season.

Another point to make is this; Because we class a disconnect as a DNF, it encourages people to ensure that they have the best possible internet connection they can, which helps the races to remain lag free for everyone else too. 👍

It could be worse.

I blame it on my Honda engine blowing up in race 2

@Ian_83 im not talking about the odd disconnect here and there. It would only be for the likes of what happened in race 2 on Thursday. Drop scores help but I think once in a blue moon we could have some sort of restart procedure incase of mass dc's not caused simply by one persons poor internet connection.

If everyone goes then yeah the race would be red flagged, although trying to remember who was where on the last lap would be a total nightmare. No replays of course. Depending on when it happens the race could either be restarted if everyone disconnected or just cancelled because of the schedule.

However, 4 out of 14 isn't enough to do that. Neither would 12.

I might be able to play later. I'm about to take the girlfriend shopping and then I've got a little bit more stewarding to do. If I've got time afterwards I'll come online for a while.

I'm trying to grind enough money to be able to buy a Buzzard for doing missions. It would be cool if the BTCC Crew had access to one.

No problems rolo. Just an idea is all. I guess its not practical.
