But; it seems that yet again PD has neglected desperate cries from their fanbase to update aspects that everyone wanted improved for years now.... They don't have to listen to us if you think of it; GT is the only choice as a racing simulation for all those punters out there with a playstation so the millions are practically guaranteed.

More like desperate whining, if you ask me. I don't see why you have to be such a drama queen about it, going on about how PD has "neglected" us. I mean, really?

It's a commercial product, it's not your mother.

Anyway, enjoy your second hand game. I assume you won't be buying any DLC.

I really believe that, this is, exactly what Sony and PD want, like all great business people they conduct their affairs in a way that pretty much forces people to act in a certain way.. they have it all sussed out.. same with the carrot and minimalistic approaches (tactics) that they employ.

It's all instrumental to a certain degree and does not happen by chance.. in most cases it's more important that the product.

Makes me wonder if Sony looked over GT6's preorder numbers and then decided to give Evolution a few more months to work on Drive Club.............

Just voicing my opinion and the way i'm gonna spend my money that's all. I find "whining" a disrespectful term for thousands of posts on this forums over the years, raising the huge issues with this game which have prevented it from reaching the potential we want to see from PD.

For god's sake man; how hard can it be to give us 2013 sounds, a AI that is competitive, and get rid of PS2 car models as they have no place in a current generation game??

Well i have to say today i went to my local gamestop and there was a COD ghost pre own copy fro ps3

Maybe someone didn't like the game. I myself don't like COD and would certainly get rid of it even if someone gave it to me for free. It's been rare instances were I've seen newly released games pre-owned. Yes, there might be a possibility that you could find GT6 pre-owned a few days after release, but it's not likely.

Honestly, I think all this "GT6 is not worth my money" nonesense is a bit exaggerate. It's not like if the game is $1000, or that kind of money. All this excuse of not buying it is only due to people being sour for not getting the game they exactly dreamed of. I've been there (GT5), and I find it easier just to hope for the worst, avoid getting hyped and be happy with the final product.

Best way to get a message across in these cases is when it hurts someone's wallet don't you think?

You're barking up the wrong tree. Best way to feel that you have personally did your little bit to hurt (...who?) is to keep your wallet in your pocket. As soon as you take it out you are helping the economy - which means helping everybody involved in the economy. Including the chicken farmers, and beer brewers will now have more money to go buy GT6 themselves.

Blame Disney and Ariel!

My point is it's an incredibly simplified, hopeful statement fueled with bias.

I felt that, too - maybe the infection of hype had set in? ;) You know . . . fight fire with fire, pseudo-freakonomics with pseudo-freakonomics and so on?

However, I agree that many members - especially younger folk here that are learning at the speed of light, may learn the wrong things from hype that is carelessly thrown around, and be damned to the eternal darkness of ignorance when they grow up to be adults. You raised a good point. 👍

Anyway, enjoy your second hand game. I assume you won't be buying any DLC.

This is the most important factor; mister dog is going to be using that disc as a very expensive frisbee. GT6 could very well be focused on online activity more than offline. We actually know very little about the whole subject.

You can raise issues without making them sound like eternal damnation.
It's a video game, the amount of suffering it can induce must surely be limited.

Thats where you are mistaken good sir, that copy was already bought once by the original user (nothing i can do about that), i'm giving him my money but he can use that on chicken wings or beer rather than PD having sold an extra copy ;)

If that makes you sleep better at night...

If you don't like the game and you want to vote with your money, don't buy it. Otherwise you just look like a hypocrite.

Yeah Is only 60$+ TAX in my case is 64.70 total. And when they say that car is not in the game, come on they say we will get more cars later on as update and dlc aslo,The 20+ cars for gt vision

A certain feature? There's the AI, the sounds, the standard cars, the crappy event system, the paint chips, the absence of desirable new cars, the lack of a livery editor...

Someone has to start these kind of things ;)

AI is not known until final build.
Standard / Premium differentiation does not exist anymore.
Car list is your choice, I see no issue.
Whilst not a livery editor, perhaps these base models are similar?

You wanna bet 5 bucks on it? :)

I'm fearing lot's of PS2 era models right next to the premium models, will look odd if that would be the case but knowing PD i wouldn't be surprised.

Indeed.

How you mean?

I have noticed some people want GT6 to be something it's not, before it's even released to the public. Good grief, have some patience already. Just for argument's sake, let's say PD takes the necessary time to ensure GT6 is everything anyone ever wanted in a driving simulator, and you are finally satisfied for a little while. Do you know what that would do? It means we would we wait 4 more years for a release date while they make all the various improvements. During those years, spectacular new cars are created by the world's manufacturers and they must be included too or someone will complain. This means more delays while the new cars are added. It also means there is no reason to ever create another GT title because nobody is asking for more.

Sooner or later, PD has to be satisfied that they have done their best to make GT6 a quality game, and make the decision to release it. They have made compromises based on the limitations of the hardware, and the current climate of the automotive and racing industry -- some great features have been added and other issues have not been entirely addressed. The released game is imperfect and the whining begins. Do you understand?

"Disrespectful"? Any person on the internet who does not maintain a certain detached perspective, well... you're gonna have a bad time. And remember, we are talking about a video game... yes there's a lot of passion surrounding this particular title, but it's still a video game. The reason these games are created is for people to play with and have fun. They have other uses (driver training, course familiarity, etc) but the primary purpose is entertainment. So try to lighten up and have some fun.

Either you will buy GT6 new, buy it used, or not buy it at all. I don't really care. And I'm sorry if I was disrespectful.

Don't think i'm being depressed here :dopey:, i will enjoy certain aspects of GT6 as much as you, but i don't think PD deserves my 60 bucks this time. Hardware restrictions and time constraints sound like a BS excuse to me; in 3 years there was plenty of time to implement a revised AI system, ditching the chase the rabbit formula and going for a proper race mode with qualifying + making sure the engine sounds are up to date.

I agree these aspects are not definite yet, so in the best case i may still be pleasantly surprised when the game is released next month, but i fear that will not be the case.

Did you play gt6 already? You seem to know about how the ai will be like, the crappy event system? Judging from 2 or 3 screenshots? Colors can be bought, no one knows what kind of customisation gt6 will have yet, forza is more of a game for you i would say, atleast watch videos of the full version before hating on the game, the car list is not even final.

In the post above you i said:

I am also using the demo as a reference for the final product, not final yes but a pretty good idea of what GT6 will offer.

Why should he pay full price for a game that isn't going to be finished? I'm sure there will also be bugs and if it is anything like GT5 the servers will be laggy. The OP's idea is actually a wise one for anyone capable of thinking objectively.

I also want to point out that you all attacked him personally when he criticized a company and their product. That is a sure sign of someone who is a fanboy. If you were capable of being objective just for a minute you would realize just how ridiculous you sound.

You see? This is excatly what I mean and said before, as to why GT will always stay popular. People don't want to move on, because they know they love the series even when whining or feeling disappointed with it. Talk about proving my point.
GT3 was GT's sales peak. Sales are down over 25% I believe from GT3 to GT5. Ever buy an IBM computer? 5 years ago everyone had a Blackberry, now their name is mud. Markets change, customer demands change. If companies don't adapt they die and PD is not immune to that.

There is nothing yet that confirms colours can be bought. Actually the opposite. We know we aren't getting a livery editor so that customization option will not be there. The car list may not be final but the bulk of it is there.

True. But wasn't it because of GT3's bundles is why it sold so well?

Well let's be honest just for the pleasure of driving into the sunset with one of the best physic systems there is on console, i will buy GT6.

May I suggest waiting it out and just buying the version that comes with all of the first years DLC that I'm sure we'll get at the end of next year.

i dont think $110 is going to do anything to PD, but i can understand where your coming from.

Isn't that mildly exaggerating abit there?

Here's the problem with this: You're still buying the game. If you plan to apply the "Vote with your wallet" method to your decision, then it'll only work if you don't buy the game.

Please, tell me more about this mysterious math that means for certain GT6 will sell more than GT5.
Please tell me why GT5 happened to sell over 50% of its copy's after the first month window when not even call of duty pulls that off..

Because there's a new CoD every year?

GT5 went platinum relatively quickly, and the price dropped like a rock accordingly. You can now buy GT5 XL for $20 including $25 of DLC. These things essentially killed any second hand market and assured that a maximum number of games were being sold new, even if they weren't being sold for much money.

GT's popularity is probably the major factor in it's long tail, but it's certainly not the only factor. With GT being what it is, I suspect there's probably some behind the scenes stuff going on to maximise the raw numbers for GT sales, even at the expense of profits. The image of it being this dominating behemoth of a sales force has value too.

Yeah rather than buying used game you can buy it 1 year later with dlc or something for cheaper. Games drop price quickly too. I am interested in dishonored game of the year edition which was recently announced with all dlc at half the price

Buying a used copy from the initial user is the same endresult financially for PD; -60 € meaning one copy less sold in comparison to me having bought it new straight from them. Why you think the voltures at Microsoft wanted to kill off the 2nd hand market initially with the Xbone?

You are barking up the wrong Peter to pay Paul.
