Can someone explain how this game is still fun?

It's only better after years worth of free updates. GT Sport didn't even have any single player modes to speak of on launch.
And they didn’t feel like changing that with GT7? The cafe is a tutorial dedicating missions to getting wings or wide body mods. They didn’t think people would want hundreds of races or themed cups for high level cars? You get the Redbull X2019 for gold licenses and it’s not eligible for anything.

Paying $70+ dollars for unfinished games is god awful and I regret doing it.

There's also raceroom racing and assetto with mods. Assetto is dirt cheap if you wait on sale. iracing should have the cleanest racing in theory, but the dlc model is just atrocious there
Neither of those have an online scene here in Oceanic region unfortunately. ACC might be the only other option. I have it, but not played it yet.

I don't disagree with you there. This game had potential to improve upon mistakes and mishaps made with the last one. It's an over-glorified beta test.

I was responding to this comment below, though.

Exactly. The single player on GTSport is even better than GT7. The ONLY thing GT7 has that Sport didn't is the ability to let you buy a turbo charger and a bloody exhaust etc. People get so hyped about buying parts. GTSport gives you the ability to tune all the perimeters already.

GTSport>GT7

You are right about GT7, @FoxMulder, but this user was comparing GT7 with GT Sport, after the latter received countless updates and QoL changes and wanted to point that out.

Ah yeah, for me if the ping is acceptable I'll race anyone. I'm not bothered what region in particular. ACC on old gen is dying, might be better on the PS5 but PC is clearly where it shines. I'd have mentioned PCARS2 but I don't know if anyone still plays that one online but it did have a surprisingly good safety rating system, I'm sure the simulation level still holds up with a few mods.
