Its all experience mate, you will be up there after a few more races I am sure, nice to have another Ddraig Goch on the main roster (will be up soon 👍)

My report:

Qualifying: 3rd

Not too bad but I had an invalidated lap on the options after an initial run on the primes so a a pretty good lap to get third but didn't have enough fuel to do another lap.

Race: 2nd

Made a reasonable start but scale managed to get ahead, managed to get back at the end of the long straight but overshot so lost a place to Indian. Was able to keep up while passing Sandman using DRS on lap 3. Made a stop for primes and had solid pace despite running a lean mixture and not making mistakes. Made my final pitstop on lap 17 for the options where I just kept closing in on Art but Liuzzi got in my way on the penaultimate corner which cost me the win, was only 2 seconds behind at the end with fastest lap so no complaints.

Definately looking forward to the season start!!!👍

Needs more Americans, less British, and more Tacos :D

Tyrrell- Aha, I will change it next week 👍

Falcon- Great performance 👍

Indy- No you mean needs more Welshies and less gosh darn Americans and tally bally ho Englanders

so i was looking back over my work schedule, and i think i can make the first race. I'll let you know for sure by the 27th.

Anyone have problems with me lagging?
I got spun in the first corner, and i have a feeling the culprit was the AI. Then i got taken out during the race. And then spun again.

I didnt see you after my 6th incident  so i have no idea. Hopefully you were ok, home GP next 👍

Was a good race all in all, spent the 1st 10mins of qualifying laughing at berty destroying his car with 14mins 59seconds left for qually.
I got held up by the AI on my 2nd hot lap when i was half a second up in sector 3 so i abandoned that lap.

Race was ok, got a good start and managed to be out of the DRS zone when it was activated. Got held up by a few AI backmarkers and got a bit of a nudge while lapping Flood, luckily i didn't get any damage. Seems the only way to get past the AI is to overtake them like humans, leaving them plenty of space as they can get pretty aggresive. I was managing my fuel and tyres towards the end as i pitted a little early from the primes and that McLaren is a gas guzzler, didn't switch to a rich mixture and didn't get to use the DRS not once :( We were lucky there was no safety car, with lag sometimes u can hit it by mistake as its all over the place or if you get a drive through, the system won't recognize it and you will have to do it twice.

I also noticed lately that even using standard mixture, the whole race, you drop from +2 laps to -1 over the course of the race. That Never used to happen to me before. And i had to drive at least 7 laps in fuel conservation, and never used rich fuel mixture once.

Thats odd indeed, I used rich for about 6 laps in total i think, the rest were standard. At the end of the race i was still at +1 laps i think

I had some problems with DRS as well, it worked perfectly for the 1st stint. But after that it didn't work once when it should have, the one time it did come on was when I had a completely clear track around me and was 30 seconds behind the car infront, and the nearest car behind was 9 seconds

I think the fuel has more to do with throttle and gear ratios then most people think. In the last game F1 2010, it was thought that they just based fuel usage on (or at least mostly on) the fuel setting you're on. I'm starting to think otherwise. At certain tracks people use more throttle then at other tracks, and everyone has slightly differant driving lines. I might brake earlier and get on the throttle throughout more of the corner while someone else might brake really late and get on the throttle just at apex (or even slightly after). So while these lines could be equally quick in the course of a race because (I'd conserve more tyres), I'd also use more fuel as I'm on the throttle longer. And also I think the gear ratios have something to do with it. The faster accelrating gear ratios use more fuel, I think...
...I my understanding of how fuel consumption works is correct, which it probably isn't

In the other championship, I did around 5 laps on rich (1st,2nd,and 3 more going for fastest lap) and about 5 on lean. I typically go on lean for the final lap on a set of tyres and on the first lap of a new set; as well as at the end of the race. I typically end up switching between -1laps and optimal thoughout the final lap. The rest of the race is on standerd, and I manage to make it fine.

Also, on the AI. I see that after experiencing them, people are starting to want them out. If you guys continue to get full/nearly full grids then you might as well turn them off.

Just curious, what time was the pole/who got it.

Ahh, stupid AI :(

I qualified in 6th in Malaysia in my HRT (1:31.9), but then with 20 seconds to go, on the back straight, Di Resta decides to turn right into me, while I'm going flat out! I break his car terminally, and get a 10spot penalty! I'm really upset, so I decide to restart quali, as the penalty was so unfair! I can't find the time, and my fastest lap is 4 tenths slower. Now I'm 12th on the grid! I'm going to restart again and again, until I get a 1:31.9, and then I'll stop and take whatever grid spot that is, because it was such an unfair penalty. This'll be the only time in my career where I restart any session. I know I shouldn't, but come on, it's an HRT!

In my Force India season I qualified 13th here, and went on to win. I think I probably crashed in quali back then, and now Force India is sending their drivers to attack me as revenge for doing bad in quali last year in the first 4 race

Sad to hear about PAWEL. Resigning from both F1 series :(

EDIT: Well, I ended up accidently getting a 1:31.4! 5th on the grid! 1 spot up on if I hadn't gotten the silly penalty! Crazy, oh well, here goes the race :)

EDIT2: I actually won! HRT is awesome! And with that I'm now 2nd in the championship with 35 points, 1 behind Nico Rosberg. It also means that HRT is 3rd in the contructors standings, though I doubt it'll stay like that. Still, championship seems like it's maybe possible :)

Pawel - No don't leave there where not that much lag issues, I'm already upset you left IndyCar :(

Race Reports:
Euro GP (Valencia):
Qualified for 1st
Finished in 1st
Notes: Press are really interested in me and set a record of most amount of successive wins (4), me and Hamilton battled it out but eventually tore his front wing trying to pass me at a sharp curve, lots of sharp curves that track

British GP (Silverstone):
Qualified for 10th
Finished in 3rd
Notes: On the majority of you lot's track but anyway, KERS could've been really useful in this track but anyway, Hamilton and Massa took off once we hit the 2nd straight, couldn't catch them and I just hold off Webber and Schumacher and also the win streak comes to a close :( well onward to Germany

German GP (Nurburgring):
Qualified for 3rd
Finished in 1st
Notes: Surprises, Surprises, I got a trophy (Robot-Like Consistency) on this track and witnessed my first safety car period where Schumacher and Hamilton had a collision but after that it was a battle between me, Massa, and Alonso and those two tried to box me right before the N chicane, but I still pull through and got offer a contract renewal for Lotus, but I don't want to be with these guys anymore I want a team that has KERS at this point xD

Hungarian GP (Hungaroring):
Qualified for 1st
Finished in 1st
Notes: One of my favorite tracks when I was lad, I mean this track was where I got my 1st victory in F1 (F1 World Grand Prix for N64) which was based off the the 1997 season but anyway the track for the most was small and a slight problem at the chicane that's all red but I managed to hold off Alonso until lap 7 where tire wear kicked in for everyone and I was able to pull away and pit for the rest of the race without seeing them :), I think I might have a 3rd favorite track.

Good Results

👍

Pawel- I hope you're not leaving because of the lag! It's happening to everyone in this gane, not just you. Maybe it was worse in this race, but from past experience racing with you it's been fine. There's a little bit of lag for everybody in this game, unlike in GT5/F1 2010 where the lag is worse for certain people. Everytime I race with anyone online I have to be careful. I'm not sure, maybe your connection was worse today, but when I've raced with you your connections been good enough :) I hope you don't quit just because you're connections a little bit off sometimes. You're 2nd in the 8th GTP world championship! You can't quit!

Unless that's not the reason you quit, in which case, nevermind.

This^

Australia next. hopefully I will have more luck there :nervous:

PAWEL-If your sure then thanks for letting me know, I am not sure why though

Indy- Your career is going well 👍

Jcm- HRT is awesome? Never thought I would hear that

    Mike put inters on??? Sorry Mike but I think if Brett is going to give out a turnip award for this season you may be eligible haha

In my defence :guilty:I was trying to do option/prime/option on the tyres and if the race hadn't been started early I wouldn't have been doing this on the fly on way into pits! :dunce:

Recon that cost me over a minute in time would have been well into the top ten! Enjoyed the racing but again AI get in way and did strange things on the screen in front of me! Had a good stint on the primes and didn't break a nose so was coming back throught the field after being punted off into the kitty litter on first bend!

REMINDER TO ALL:- DO NOT START THE RACE UNTIL TOLD TO DO SO!

unless you want the risk of a lap on inters!

I'll do my report tonight, got an RE exam today - haven't revised... :L

I will explain my disqualification too. :(

Mike- I tried to repeat myself over and over but some fool started the race anyway! Luckily I 'think' I managed to get my setup on but had no time to adjust my strategy, it was very annoying and I hope it doesnt happen again :banghead:

Etid- Wasnt it too many corner cuts?

I can relate to corner cuts and on our own track, TREACHERY I say, those stewards will pay with there lives and salary :D

Ok, i'll stay, but if issues do arise, please don't hesitate to tell me. I don't want to spoil anyone's day.
Sorry for the confusions, but i've been having a lot of complaints lately, and don't want to cause anymore issues.

Fair enough, I think there will be some lag issues with everyone and in this kind of game there is always going to be multiple incidents.

Right, so we have one spot to fill, I will message the reserves this afternoon.

Sorry to Pawel and anyone else that got caught up in my spin at the start of the main straight! I have to turn some TC on as I was struggling to keep up out of the corners and I almost crashed off the start line with wheelspin.

I started on Primes. First part of the race I just tried to stay out of trouble and made up quite a few position as others crashed or received drive-throughs but that spin cost me almost a minute waiting for others to come past and then not having enough turnig circle to get back to the track without reversing and going forward like Austin powers many times LOL! I only did 1 pit stop on lap 15 and changed to options, but by that stage my concentration levels had dropped and I went into major fuel saving mode for the last 4 laps but enjoyed the race.

Re the fuel - If you consistently change up when your revs are in 'the purple' you will burn more fuel and have to make up for it with lots of time on a lean fuel mix. People who drive on automatic don't have a problem.

Well I just finished my first wet race, and the AI difficulty perplexed me.
I'm not the best in the wet but I had the AI on the same difficulty on as I normally do. And I was 5 seconds a lap slower than pole, so I lowered the difficulty one notch and hey presto I was 5 seconds a lap faster!
So I qualified pole with ease, then went on to win by well over a minute, at Kuala Lumpa which isn't my favourite track either.
