I tried racing with you guys earlier but it wouldn't let me connect until after qualifying started. By then I didn't have time to wait for the next race before getting to work :(. Tonight I'll start working on India.

Hey Guys,

Looking forward to tomorrow. I'll only be tooling around and staying out of the way ;)

Here are the finished sox:
simBOOT_SOX_Group_grip.png

You will have the choice of heel grip or toe grip for each foot based on your driving style. I may throw in two sets for whomever is leading half way. Two toe grip sox and two heel grip sox :D

See you on the track,

What's a good lap time at India ? I got lapped earlier in a 12 lap race around nurb with JCM and others :embarrassed: so it looks like I'l be practising a lot tomorrow. It's not like I've got a big exam to revise for or anything ...

I did 5 laps at India with the driving line on and got a 1:22.8xx, so I think a 1:19 is probably as fast as possible for top drivers, though I could probably get a 1:20.

Wish I could race with you guys tomorrow, stupid time zones :(

Off topic: I'm thinking about restarting my career, again. I'm in my second season of my all expert career (no driving line) and I'm driving for Red Bull. I'm just really bored. I've gotten pole every race, and the only times I don't win is when I make a mistake. Then I just finish lower on the podium. Last season was way more fun. I was in a Force India and I got 8Wins, 7Poles, 278points, and drivers champioship clinched in India. I remember lots of things from that season, like when I spun and killed the car while leading at the last lap at my home race in Montreal. I had a good lead so I was trying to get fastest lap, took too much kerb and spun into the armco. When I got my first pole (Monaco), when I hit an invisible wall while leading at Spa on lap1. Good times :)

If I do restart I'll drive for HRT. It's slow, but it's got oversteer which is really fun. I'll do 20% races, and I'll try to get a win :)

When you get so good it can be a bit boring. When I get the McLaren/Ferrari offer it will probably lead to me getting bored of 1 player if I win everything.

Yeah, my first career on F1 2011 I signed for Williams and won the championship on hard, then signed for McLaren and went to expert. As I improved I started getting bored of dominating and early on in season 3 I got bored and restarted.

I've done two careers where I started with Caterham. I'd love to do my whole career with Caterham but the car will never improve, it's really too bad. I did win 2 or 3 races on expert in my second career at Caterham, but I've since improved. Maybe I'll be able to get a pole in the HRT now? I think I'll just start my new career at HRT right now :)

Agreed, Once I get a Ferrari/Red Bull/McLaren I'll start to get boring and I'll just try to win PSN trophies but other news, Career Update:

Spanish Grand Prix (Catalunya):
Qualifed for 2nd
Finished in 1st

Notes: .08 seconds off of pole damn you Jenson, but any who, the qualification was the best in my season so far but once the race started Jenson tried to be aggressive at those cluster of turns in Sector 3 causing an accident between Jenson, Alonso, Di Resta, and Schumacher so it was just me, Heidfield, and Hamilton fighting for top 3 while everyone else is left in the dust.
P.S. Wished I had KERS on or I would've left them in the dust

Good idea. Go try win a championship with HRT on expert.

hehe, should be exciting at least :) It'll make tracks like Korea intresting :) I've totally got this.

EDIT: on a side note I hate racing online with the French :banghead:

Well, maybe I have a shot at a championship in the HRT after all! The car feels really fun to drive, and in fast fuel mix I can compete wheel to wheel with Sauber's!

I qualified in 13th, 1.7s back from pole, 4.8s faster then Liuzzi :odd:.

I got a good start off the line, and passed a few cars in the first two corners. In the braking for turn 3 I took a good line and ended up fifth. I followed closely behind Massa, and in the braking for turn 12?? I got past him for 4th. I couldn't keep up with Lewis, Jenson and Britney, so I decided to save fuel and tires.
I did a good job keeping them behind me (without weaving), and then the pitstop phase started. I came in on lap 5, and didn't get held up at all :) Alguesuari was on a good strategy though, and he ended up in front of me after the pitstops were over. I stayed in 5th place for the rest of the race.

Qualifying: 13
Race: 5

It probably looks like I don't have a chance to get the championship, but I'm not too sure. I came 5th in the Force India and went on to win the title fairly easily. Should be an exciting season :)

I cannot contain the excitement so I must let it out:

Monaco GP:
Qualified for 1st 👍
Finished 1st

Notes:
Surprised I qualified 1st by .04 seconds ahead of Webber considering this track is completely different from GT5 (I really mean it) but anyway the race is the only time I manage to pull away from the pack and set off the race's fastest lap time :D and to add more good news next is my favorite track *drumrolls* "Circuit de Gilles-Villeneuve" better known as the Canadian GP :)

P.S. I believe I got lucky I think it will end at Nurburgring :nervous:

Congrats 👍

Yeah, I'm now unable to drive Monaco in GT5. Unless I'm in a Volkswagon Bus I will crash into the chicane

Hey Guys,

Is there an optimal way to set up your wheel in the menu for a DFGT?

Thanks

Jcm- A great performance for a HRT car (I would be last if I tried that) 👍

Indy- Ditto, I managed this feat in my first season too, you can get into a good rhythym at Monaco but the key is to qualify first as overtaking is tough here.

simBOOT- I didnt change from my GT5 set up and found it to be fine. Havent even looked at the wheel settings TBH.

ALL-Its race day and I havent had a few friend requests, please add me if you are in as I will give away your place to a reserve if you havent by 6pm GMT.

I'm dreading Monaco...

Gonna practice for India / Buddh tonight. What's the easiest way to practice on a track?

I guess just select Grand Prix from the menu and select India. Do some hotlaps and then a race with the AI on legend, thats how I am going to prepare if I get a chance 👍

Ah right, that's what I'll do.

What time do you think we'll finish the race tonight? Is there a qualifyer before the race?

PS: Updated sig.

Time for some practice, I'm going to aim for a top 10 finish tonight. I doubt I will be able to do any better.
What's the situation with the AI?

Etid- Nice Sig 👍

Pagey- AI are in for this one and are set to professional, if you want some company message me ill be on in 10 mins, if not I will carry on with my 1p game :D

I think im just going to do some time trials to get used to the track first :D I still don't know it yet properly.

Making sure I have this correct. 8:50 gmt. = 3:50pm est. (eastern standard time)

Making sure, that is In British Summer time right?
And i think that is simBOOT.

Hey PAWEL17,

I have no freaking clue :D

I tried the gmt time conversion but it confused me to all ends.
Basically I am on New York time but I live in Florida.

Can anyone advise what is the race time for New York, USA time?

Thanks so much.

Ok, it is now 1523 in the UK check the time on this post and you will have your answer. Confusing no more  :)

Good luck tonight everyone and a few pointers

1. No rage quitting
2. Go easy on the other drivers, try and get them on the straights unless you are immensely faster.
3. Be patient until I start quali as we have to wait the full joining time.
4. Please let me start the race as we need to give people time to put set ups on etc.

Looking forward to it 👍

Ok then I was correct 3:50pm Eastern Standard Time.

Thanks for all of your patience, I will return the favor on the track when I get blue flagged :D
