Ok, no worries, I guess its just practice then and luck.
Sorry about that, I did feel a bit guilty

I didn't even hear ya. Or rather understand. A bunch of Brits speaking into my head set makes a jumble I can't really understand :-D

Thats good then, I was moaning because you didnt get out of the way but realised after that you didnt have to as it was a corner. My bad, just the heat of the moment.

No prob.

On a different note, I just found out I have to work the next two Wednesday's. I hate it when they change my schedule without talking to me.

Some good races last night. Need to make sure I'm more consistant.

Australia race we did I was in first for ages then went to pit and hit the wall that seperates the pits from the track  totaled my car.

Did quite well at the Montreal track until I hit the wall on turn 3/4 and spun to left hit the other barrier and got a puncture and lost my wing.

All in all enjoying it, great fun, no lag online at all with 8 people so lets hope its good with 16. 👍

Flooder- Are you about for the pre season? (its this monday) Ill sign you as absent for the season opener, its good for everyone to keep me informed if they cant make it 👍

Etid- I was unlucky for the first two with collisions in turn 1 but some good racing in all and a couple of podiums.

We learned a few lessons last night about settings. I have a list of actions to take if the pre season is a mess with the AI/Human opponents. We can tweak the settings to improve things as we go along e.g. less AI, AI skill setting, No AI, low collision setting, no damage etc. I wont implement these in one go of course and some may not be introduced at all, we will see how it goes first.

Yeah, I'll be there for the preseason.
And it really sucks finding out I have to miss a race right after a prize for attendance is announced. Oh well.

Dont worry. It is in the rules that we have to drop a race from the season so I will check with Randall if the 100% includes the dropped race or not. Ill let you know. Ill confirm you for the pre season in the 2nd post.

ALL- If you cant make the pre season please let me know as not doing so will adversly affect your reputation points!

I won't be there for the preseason.

I think I'll be there for races 4-16, with the exception of one or two of those, as I know I'm going away on holiday but I don't know when.

Oh no - Ive just noticed the poll at the top... I can't make sundays because I run my own GT5 series on sundays, and sundays is currently winning. Doh!

GO WEDNESDAY GO, GO WEDNESDAY GO,GO WEDNESDAY GO, GO WEDNESDAY GO!

Its all in the wording, I was just checking availability for extra sessions. This championship is on a Wed guaranteed mate but the pre season is this monday. Can you do monday?

F1 Career:

Race 3 - Shanghai:
On hard diffculty

Qualified 13th then finished in 10th. I was in first for ages but got caught up by Webber and Hamilton then lost my wing and put me back to 17th but I got back to 10th not bad. Baring in mind it was my first rainy race. 👍

Thats still a good result considering you got damage. Its better to have a good race than just 'Vettel' it from pole to win. I will have to start updating my career status again, so far I have had 8 wins and a 17th place finish but I switched from Professional to Legend after race 6 so if you crash badly you can kiss 1st goodbye :)

I tried a race on expert at Melbourne this morning. Barely managed to win. I still just can't find speed around there.

F1 Career:

Race 4 Turkey / hard:

Practice was trickey, first sectors quite tough on this track and with traction control on you lose a lot of time through the long left hander in sector 2 so I qualified 13th which wasn't too bad.

Race was terrible worse so far. Got off to a good start down to 7th/8th then got an illegal overtake penalty so I had to do a drive through. Put me back to 13th then I got another penalty I can't remember what for and got a 20 second one. Then minor damage to the front wing on the last 2 laps so I had to go defensive and finished in 17th. Then the 20 seconds put me in 19th...

Very annoying.. But Catalunya next which looks quite tough too but I have only had little practice for it. Looking for a top 10 qualy spot.

Catalunya looked bad to me too but ended up being my preffered track. It is quite easy to memorise so you should go well if you stay out of trouble at the start (not easy :scared:)

I have just been offered a contract from Lotus Renault! I fancy taking it, does anyone know if the car is much superior to the williams? I am guessing so but dont want to accept in case McLaren offer

Turkish Grand Prix
Qualified for 13th
Finish in 4th

Notes: Love this track but with not good aerodynamics could give you some trouble here but a good battle between me, Massa, and Sutil

The Lotus-Renault is about half a second faster then the Williams, yet has a tendency to understeer. Oddly, the Lotus-Renault is slower then the Sauber by a little bit, as well as the big 4. The McLaren is the fastest (about 1.5 faster then Lotus), so you should hold off as long as possible.

Just so you know, the AI times aren't based on the actual car times. In season 5 you could see an AI HRT win the championship. If you signed for HRT that season, you're car would be 4-5 seconds slower then your teammates :(

Indy- The AI on a difficult setting makes this game much more interesting than GT5 in 1 player doesnt it 👍

Jacques+jcm- Strange that, I recall the LR being much better than Williams for the large part of the 2011 season. Sauber were similar over the whole season, from what you both said ill not accept and hope for an offer from McLaren (or Ferarri/Mercedes).
HRT win the championship!

NO SPOILERS PLEASE for those who havent seen it. It was an interesting race today and very entertaining I thought :)

Your right Brett, the difficulty is far more difficult than GT but it makes it more fun but its frustrating in your rookie season when you have little upgrades on your and no KERS and the DRS wont activate for me :banghead:

It can be very frustrating, you are not getting DRS because you have to be less than 1 second behind in the detection zone. You dont get it very often in a race unless you are following someone. See you for the FGTC final in about 15 mins :D

Same with me Indy. The Team Lotus car just feels so much slower than the other cars. Had a nightmare race at Catalunya...

Race 5 Catalunya on hard:
Qualy: 24th
Race: 17th

Practice I got a -10 grid spot penalty so qualy was pretty much pointless as I tried to get as I has I could but could only manage 14th. Race was bad too. Had to start from back but was doing well I got up to 13th then I spun towards the end and put me back to 17th...

Monaco next and after practice I can tell it's going to be a very trickey track. Not looking forward to it.

Monaco is an absolute nightmare. I always give up on it in career mode. Will be interesting in this championship.

I love Monaco! My favourite track :) I always do well there. Hated it in F1 2010, but I love it in F1 2011 :)

- And the Lotus is the slowest on the grid.

Monaco is actually pretty good but you do need a little practice as its the odd one out in the calendar. Real easy to lose your nose cone :(

Looking forward to racing tomorrow, reserves stand by as some of you will be needed :D

What's a good lap time at India ? I got lapped earlier in a 12 lap race around nurb with JCM and others :embarrassed: so it looks like I'l be practising a lot tomorrow. It's not like I've got a big exam to revise for or anything ...

I dont know to be honest mate, with the FGTC coming to a close I havent practiced for India. Will have a run around tomorrow daytime though. The guys from the other championship will probably destroy us in S1 but its all a good learning curve :D
