Btw, the reason for my crash was I went alongside Mike going into the fast right hander on the straight, his car came across me and we locked together and spun into the wall. Had a good start as well, 10th to 5th :/

but if you haven't overtaken me on the back straight, and i have the inside line into the chicane, where am i supposed to put my car? I was simply on the racing line, pretty much the same line you would take whether someone is behind you or not.

Stay till the end next week if you can m8. It makes it crap when we lose 3 people in the first lap!

In the corner after that we were still alongside, but I was on the inside and you were on the outside. I backed off a lot because I didn't to repeat what happened with Pagey, and because you took that corner as though I wasn't even there.

Now that i did not see. I thought i had the racing line and you were behind, i didnt even get the funny white arrows to show me where you were (i use the onboard TV cockpit cam) so i just took the normal line. I was third last after your and falcons lil 1st turn incident as i had to avoid you both, come DRS I overtook people from both the inside and outside after the long back straight, thats why i couldn't figure out why you couldnt make it stick before that chicane, and so i took my normal racing line into it. If you thought that was aggressive you shoulda seen me n indy at season opener in Australia on the last lap, we exchanged the lead on almost every corner.
I'll try and be more accomodating next time, but please make the move before the corner as it is hard to know where someone is going into a chicane from a DRS zone. Maybe i need to look at my defending style as this is the second time someone has complained about it.

This is another accident i was lucky to avoid, i had DRS too but you guys were so close to each other i delayed opening my DRS coz theres a lil kink there and if you are not careful you open too early you can spin. The safety car came out just as opened my DRS and i saw you's two in the wall, and decided to pit on that lap, only lost 2 positions and had a fresh set of primes, that was probably the wi ning move for me as i managed to leap frog everyone that was in front of me when they made their first pit. Lady luck was on my side as i coulda been taken out in any of the three major incidents

Can I suggest that people try practicing with the Racing Line switched to FULL so that can see the Route that someone would take around each track.

I am not the most serious racer and do this just for the enjoyment of spending time with like minded people having a friendly but fair bit of competition. I do take time to practice and setup my car so I can get in the action......

From my point of view I was setting myself up for the left hander at the end of the back straight when I'm hit, get spun ,get a blowout on the front left and a drive through! I wasn't weaving all over the track just following the racing line.

This is not GT5 with the damage turned off or a demolishion derby. Closing speeds can be way different to the car in front. The cars don't take knocks very well and a half chance mistake can spoil the race for more than just one person. The races are not always won in the first few laps so patience is needed :grumpy: Tapping side pods will nearly always result in the car being hit spinning out.

Excactly^^

It is difficult to 'educate' everyone into the same way of thinking so I will just advise everyone to be courteous and considerate next week.

Wise words Mike 👍

One thing I have noticed is that people tend to ignore what the other driver might do. For example I've seen a few cases where people have stuck their front wheels on the inside of the car in front. Knowing full well that the other car is going to turn in and take the corner, yet they seem to think that because they are on the inside it must automatically mean the other car can see them and it must mean he has to give them room. They then moan when their front wheels are hit and they are spun out.

If you are going into a corner behind the car in front, it is 90% your responsibility to make sure you get through the corner cleanly with no lunging moves down the inside. The driver in front has the right to the racing line and 9 times out of 10 he has absolutely no idea that the driver behind is making a move. As Lewis Hamilton found out to his cost a few times last season with several broken front wings and a fair few penalties as well!
Obviously the leading car cannot weave or block, or intentionally run the other guy off the road, but he is entitled to take his racing line. Within reason of course.

he is entitled to the line if the car is behind, but some people seem to think the same when cars are beside them.

Yeah I know, that's what I meant by the within reason bit :)

Sorry about missing last night, it was last day of school and I was out. Doesn't look like a missed a particularly good race though. Never had any problems with anyone here except SKD.

I think we should say who's causing the issues as i don't think anyone is deliberately trying to wreck anyone. Maybe they're being too aggressive and need a kick up rear and told to calm down.

Tyrrell- You missed a poor race. It was very lonely out there with no AI and there were some poorly excecuted moves.

SM- I am flat out at the moment but hopefully will get a lobby sorted sometime soon mate 👍

Maybe leave just the Torro Rosso's on ? Never had an issue with them as there not dangerously slow, don't know about anyone else.

the speed is the same because the cars are set to equal performance.

Buemi lags like mad for me for some reason.

You sure that applies to AI too ? They never seem to be in the crowd of AI cars with the 3 bottom teams and they always seems to be further up the field and only slightly off the pace, well my pace anyway.

I think for the next race ill make up the numbers to 20 (ill drop the HRT's/Virgins and see how we go 👍

Hmm i find the McLarens to be faster on the straights (IMO) e.g JCM couldn't overtake me on the back straight even with DRS. The downside of that though is that i hardly put my revs all the way up except for 2 laps and that was only because i had a lean mix behind the safety car.

On a side note, maybe we should record the races somehow, and have the secret stewards look at every complaint. Preferebly select stewards that were not involved in the incidents as it is human nature to try and get other guy penalised if a steward is involved. Just a suggestion.

OP updated, please check post 2 and take heed of the warning, we gotta keep this clean guys its for everyones enjoyment 👍

Artmann- Recording is the only option I am afraid.
