Back about 15 posts there was some discussion of the Clio. I just finished the Clio Cup last week. It was pretty fun. I originally bought the "Clio Race Car", but when I arrived at the first race it was apparent I had brought a lightsaber to a sword fight. I went back, bought a dark red, stock one. I put on necessary goodies and went back to race. (Race exhaust, port&polish, chip, suspension,trans, diff, Slicks & Super Slicks) I recently re-read Scaff's tuning books and did quite well applying the knowledge to adjust the Clio to my style. The Clio can be set up well but still needs adjustment in driving style. I needed to do most of my braking in a straight line and drive very conservatively on cold tires. I did a couple of the races with softer tires in the rear. I went into the last race at Cote undefeated so I removed the chip, and use T3s all around. (this would foce me to pit more often) I started from the Pole and quickly started to pull away. I probably had a second and a half when I got to the hairpins. That's when the cold tire thing bit me. I spun. Well, I wanted more of a challenge didn't I. Opps, I spun again two turns later. It took me six laps to catch the field. I was still able to run longer stints between pit stops and managed to put myself up front a couple of laps from the end.
I wouldn't mind a Clio as a daily driver, I think I could get quite attached to it if the real life one is anything like this.
I tried the Cobra a couple of times, that one's going to take a while to sort out.
Right after I won the Escudo, I took it to Tahiti Maze to see if it really handled as bad as everyone said. It definitely killed me.
