Cars you wish don't make it into GT5

Bear in mind people, cars were probably left out for work load reasons not due to lack of disc space. 500+ cars (if you exclude the variations) do take a long time to create.

BACKFIRE!

geez its turn me off. Because i never see it in real life. so NO REALISTIC

i wish they making a smoike lookin so realistic when their tires spinning.

Well you do get it in real life, just not quite as often as in GT4 :sly: I'd prefer GT4s backfire to no backfire as in GT3. Without backfire on some cars it just looks wrong (Although yeah a backfiring Fiat Panda looks wrong too... but funny).

I agree more or less with about every post on here. But, methinks PD should leave out most or all of those goofy tiny Japanese cars that have something like 21 horsepower & the races that go with`em. If Japanese dudes like`em so much, they can have`em. If I had to drive a Daihatsu midget:yuck: IRL, I`d have driven it off a cliff long ago.

They should have an American Version, European version and a Japanese version as it seems that the latest series of GT's aren't geared towards the Americans as they tend to have the fewest cars. An option to have all the cars, mostly American, mostly European, mostly Japanese should be included.... IMHO, which isn't worth squat.

Which explains why there are so many Skylines and Lancers and what-not.... one base set of physics, 40 differant variations of the same car = 40 differant cars. It's like a Mazda B2000 pickup truck is REALLY a Ford Ranger with differant nameplates.....

don't you people know why YK loves the skylines so much? His daddy used to own one and it was his true introduction to automobiles I believe....

Isn't it also the case that there just happen to be that many models of Skyline. Don't we also have every model of the Lancer, RX7 (except the very first model) and various other Japanese cars.

And speaking of them, it would be nice to have the Dodge Ram SRT-10, or whatever it's called.

Why would you want cars out anyhow?

I can't imagine why they put the Ram 1500 in instead of the SRT-10. All the other trucks in the game are sportified, but they just give you a normal everyday Ram. Wierd decision, which reminds me of something else staggeringly mind boggling. There are two DSMs in the game (Eclipse and Talon), and both of them are front wheel drive only. These cars are famous for their turbocharged engines, glass and tinfoil gearboxes, and four wheel drive. WTF?
The only cars that I would take out would be 2 of the Fiat 500s. I like them as much as some people, and probably more then most, but there's not really any significant difference between them, is there?
(I am also in favour of making Midnight Pearl a colour option for R34 Skylines, rather then a seperate model.)

In a few words: I'm bored of Skylines!!!
There are 52 versions of it in GT4!! that's near of 7% of te cars in game are Skylines.

C'mon guys! How much did Nissan paid Polyphony Digital for that?

If you are bored of them don't buy them. And I doubt that the 52 Skylines are keeping other models out of the game.

Ditch Holden? What's the point of ditching Holden? How can you express Australia's biggest rivalry without the other company? It's like Michigan vs. Ohio State... without Ohio State. Come on now!

i want them to include all the cars of all past GT's :D [as well as with some cars that have wings already, i dont wanna have to replace them to alter downforce]

i believe they funded a lot, because the 350Z's handle beautifully, and so do the skylines.. i haven't tested the other cars, cause i'm not interested in them. I also believe that they didn't like the italian companies, because those cars handle like a$$... maybe they got p*ssed that Xbox got lambo and ferrari? lol.. just speculation.

in concept the gt series was suppose to include all teh cars in teh world, in order to TRY to accomplish this they needed to start somewhere. say this game is made in america, do u think u would start off tryin to model every single european made car first? no, it wouldnt make sense if u model cars u dont have in the us. for one you would need to fly the car to u or u to teh car inorder to take down the data needed.

as for the 50+ skylines, yea tats alot of skylines, but they still left some out, say the gts. they left out the s4 fc rx7, the nonturbos fcs rx7, the 93-98 fds rx7, sa22(fb) rx7 in gerneral(i am a rotary junkie), many of the wrx(there are 7 types of wrxs each different). and tats just the japanese cars i can think of off the top of my head. And many of the cars tat look the same might not be the same, say the nsx. the older nsxs had a 3L engine while the newer 96+(ibelieve) had a 3.2. older ones didnt have powersteering, newer did.

there is really no point in removing cars, they already have the data collected from gt4, models from gt4 probably could be improved for and reused for gt5.

the relationship between nissan and gt has been there since the beginning. its just become blantly appearent now. skylines aside, there is a gt4 350z. this is a real car, no fantasy car made up in teh game, its on sale in europe in limited quantities.

Ford Scorpio, any Renault bar the maxi turbos and clios. Stupid little japanese cars that you could fit in your pcoket.

Ditch anything less than 100hp? These little machines show that you can still enjoy the thrill of driving in a small car. With mini machines, you're talking about the original Mini Cooper, the Ginetta G4, the Toyota Prius... you want to get rid of that? Even the first automobiles had less than 100 horsepower. How are you going to respect automobiles if you don't pay respect to the past?

I'll tell you right now. The two Daimlers, while incredibly slow, are two of the most interesting cars I've ever used in a Time Trial. Yeah, I completed a lap of Hong Kong in 11 minutes with one of the Daimlers, but it is still very fun because you're driving history. Where else can you get a chance to do that except for maybe Grand Prix Legends? And then the modern cars with less than 100hp, you have to remember. They may be slow compared to a Minolta Toyota or whatever, but they are still cars no matter what anyone thinks. Plus, they have an advantage that most higher-class cars don't- incredible turning ability. Since you have very light weight and small engines, they are still nimble around any road course. Perhaps more so than say, a Viper or that damned Cizeta. Then too, Japan and Europe have these small cars and are every bit as fun as a big car.

So, no.

I agree with John. I can see how some people might not like underpowered cars. Unfortunately for them, there are a lot of us who likes variety. Fast or slow, if they are cool and fun to certain fans, bring 'em in! More the merrier. :)

There is no Scorpio in GT4. And for Renault I am quite happy to see the Avantime.
This car was far ahead of its time and is a future classic for sure (especially in right hand drive).

Now if they need to scrap the "stupid" japanese why not getting rid of the stupid useless muscle cars. What the point of a Charger that cannot drive straight ???

To be honest I hope they add even more cars, I love all of them. I just hope they do a better job at modelling. The modelling of the Citroen 2CV is a joke. Anyone who drove one can tell you.

I would like to see Acura CL 3.2 Type-S removed. For the second time, it recieves the prize of "Worst car in GT", 'cause I think it was the worst, or at least, one of the worst cars in GT3.

And, about all that 64 BHP, I understand that there are many people who like to drive them, so, I'll respect their presence.

Ideal HP, is 150, in my opinion.

I think if you want a muscle car that can do more than go straight, one of my recommendations would be either a 1969 Camaro SS or a Barracuda. Like I said, the 2005 Mustang GT is perhaps one of the most agile American cars I've used in competition and only gets better with tuning. Of course, if you want to talk more about American car possibilities in GT5, look for my "American Cars in GT5" thread in the GT5 forums.

I was inspired by the "cars you want in GT5" thread, so I got this idea.

Here's my list of cars I do not want to see in GT5:

Toyota Volts--C'mon, it's a Pontiac Vibe with no changes in design or (if I remember correctly) power!

That's all I have now.

A little history. The Vibe is not built by Pontiac, it's built by Toyota. Pontiac just leased the engine and rest of the car from Toyota. So actually, the Voltz is the other way around. The Pontiac Vibe is a Voltz, not the Voltz being the vibe.

Toyota makes the Toyota Matrix (US) then they make the Vibe for Pontiac and it's the same car, with different styling and it doesn't get the Celica engine, only the base model Matrix engine. (They have since added that engine into the lineup). The Voltz is just the european Matrix, with the styling resembling the Pontiac version.
Not to mention the power levels and such are wrong in GT4. It's 170 hp for the top model that has the Celica engine in it. Not 180. The celica is closer to 180 but the power was dropped slightly for the Matrix/Voltz/Vibe.

Per the "rules" set aside in the beginning of the thread, this car doesn't count as being able to add to the list since it's just another version of a car.

I've skimmed through most of the previous posts and I see people saying things like "I hope those ___ doesn't make it" or "Those ___ takes up too much space".

First of all, why would you want ANY cars to be excluded from Gran Turismo 5??

Yumauchi works hard to get those cars there, and you want them out?
Try to reconsider what Gran Turismo IS...
Gran Turismo has won the CAR-KRAZY hearts of many and it is the first game to ever come this close to REAL-LIFE DRIVING!!

If any of your unwanted cars DO make it in, just don't drive them...Instead, worry about the cars you WANT...Not the ones you DON'T want.
Skylines(in particular) are high-powered Front-Engine Rear Wheel Drive(FR) or All Wheel Drive(AWD) cars that are popular around the world for looks and speed...
They DO NOT need to be excluded, because LOTS of people like Skylines and would hate them to be knocked-out of Gran Turismo...And WHY?? Because you WANTED them out?? C'mon people, no true Gran Turismo lover would want to take certain cars out from Gran Turismo!! Think about it, what would Gran Turismo be if it didn't have cars?? Would it still be a "real-life driving simulator"?? No it wouldn't...

You need to reconsider the facts...Gran Turismo main attraction is the CARS...Why EXCLUDE them...How about trying to get AS MANY AS POSSIBLE!!

Note: This post was not intended to be of any offense towards anyone; it is my opinion and only ask that you give it the right respect, as well as to all other posts.
Thanks,
