of course the general idea is that they'd be used in city, not on highways. I don't think that anyone would be so stupid to get on highway with that kind car-shaped object. if they need to get out of the city, public transports exist.

On a week I can drive 100 miles to hang out with friends, pick up two sets with wheels and tires, coilovers, freshly painted stuff and other car parts.. From now on I'm gonna try carrying it on the bus.. :)

perhaps, but 21 years old don't have such a burning need to impress their friends or girls. I still do think that government should provide a dieselpowered 2-stroke moped car for the first two years for those who have acquired their license, so they can accumulate experience without getting into trouble.

/facepalm

They don't? I'd easily get into trouble with a diesel 2-stroke moped car though.
Good suggestion, let new drivers sit in a tin can that goes half the speed of everything else so they are overtaken by everyone making dangerous situations on the road.. Good suggestion indeed....

Despite my generally disagreements with your views, you are on the money here.

New driver's will be dangerous no matter what. The real solution is better training.

One last thing, since all four of us will now have 86s, my cousin kyle, brother dustin, friend corey is buying the sr5, and I, we were thinking just for fun we should have a team name! I was thinking something with "Leftys" in it since we all happen to be left handed, any ideas?

Rolling Guy.:P

I'm amazed that the car still had parts on it when you came back. Those things get stripped instantly here by people on the look out for parts.

I went back today to grab a few parts, hasn't even been touched, been there since last Wed. Ended up getting the oil cooler off it and the bvsv valve I broke for $12 bucks, not bad I guess. I am surprised none of the other 86 owners in the st louis area jumped on it, it was posted on the forums. Some of the **** off it is worth some money. We're gonna finish gutting it on saturday.

I guess i'm an idiot cause I really don't get the "Rolling guy".

Rolling Guy was the name of an all AE86 Corolla team from the game Tokyo Extreme Racer on the Dreamcast and in its sequals on PS2 and Xbox 360.

I haven't updated in a while but a few things have happened.

So I got everything back together, put the oil cooler on I got from the junk yard and took it out for a test drive, and I like. I definitely like the manual steering compared to the power, much more feedback. Engine felt quite strong for a stock 4age although the only thing I have to compare to have been worn out high mileage 4a's. Only problem with the engine itself is it's a little noisy at the top from around 3k and up, a little pissed about it and hoping I just need to adjust the valves.

Swapped in the GTS seats, fixed the horn, and got it licensed & insured. Finally I could get it out on the highway. Felt pretty good, bumpy and noisy as hell, the hatch latch doesn't work completely and it doesn't fully close.

After about 20 miles of test driving just as i'm returning to the shop I notice the heat gauge starting to rise, son of a ..... Ended up having a coolant leak from one of the hoses that runs to the heater core so since the heater doesn't work I just looped it. That's 2 (including the oil cooler hose). Drive the 75 miles home and don't have a problem. A few days later I take a friend out for a drive, get back, pop the hood...sweet another. Just a bad o-ring near the thermostat housing, I was completely broke so I had to wait till my cousin could give me his o-ring kit. Fixed it today, that's 3.

Tonight on my way back from a local drag/drift event, 5 miles from home and the heat guage starts to rise again, pulled over immediatley, I don't care were I am i'll walk before I overheat an engine. Now it's leaking out of a small short hose under the intake, appears the clamp just isn't fully on, easy fix right? Wrong, not only is it one of those spots that you can't turn the pliers, but the freakin clamp is junk and won't open far enough to put it on! More than likely I could have just filled it with water and made it home but a friend wasn't far behind so he just towed me and there she sits. I'll run to the autoparts store tomorrow and hopefully it will be a simple fix...and that's 4.

I just wanna use my GPS and find some good roads!!!

Congratulations, nice car! 👍

Just need to lower the car and is perfect.

In my opinion a carbon hood and trunk will fit very nice. :D

or how about being unique and keeping the bodywork as it is, just lowering the car..? IMO, not every Corolla should look like they're from certain cartoon that promotes reckless driving..

Rolling Guy.:P

Definitely Rolling Guy. :P

And whoever is fastest is Rolling Master. Or Rolling Guy #0, their choice.

Rolling Guy was the name of an all AE86 Corolla team from the game Tokyo Extreme Racer on the Dreamcast and in its sequals on PS2 and Xbox 360.
NERDS. Sad thing it I know two more guys who would know exactly what you're talking about, and they go by the names Race Idiot and MistaX. Bunch of nerds, jeez.

The new pics are looking great Casey. The ride height is curiously higher than even mine was, but that'll be fixed soon, I'm sure. And Rolling Guy should definitely be your team name, lmao.

That your opinion and I respect!

I like carbon parts, and I think some of them fit very well in AE86 body.
