There seems to be some interest in a list of cars that can compete on certain tracks. I love Sarthe and I love road cars as some of you may be aware. This thread is intended to be a running list of road cars I have WON at Sarthe with. I intend to publish the car, tuner, best lap and overall time. This is intended to be an exercise by a relative amateur and what a baseline might look like for a given car/tune for the beginning-to-average player. I don’t consider myself much more than an average driver.

Assist Settings
Braking areas (they’re so inaccurate, I’m not sure why I still have this on other than my mind drifts at times)
Cone markers (again quite inaccurate, these also keep my mind from drifting)
Automatic Transmission
No ABS/TCS or other assists

Tuning sheets will be hidden under Spoiler tags and organized by manufacturer as I don’t want to clutter up the thread. When you see a ratio listed in the title of the tuning sheet, it is the fuel mapping I used (currently using AT’s), i.e., 6:3 is FM6 = 3 laps. I am starting to incorporate Lift & Coast to cars on the verge of 3 laps, but still using AT’s at the moment, I have indicated where this is the case, but if you see 4:2, it is likely that was under the old standard, so give it a try. Links listed under ‘Car’ will be my adaptation of a given tune (GT Auto parts will only be listed if they alter the PP value from the original tune), links listed under ‘Tuner’ will redirect to the tuning sheets originally published. If it says ‘No tune’, there is no tuning, or exceptionally little, done to the car, outside of possible upgrades to spec up to 700. If it says ‘Not a tune’, it indicates an amalgamation of upgrades with very basic adjustments to the ride height, downforce, ballast, LSD and/or gearbox and can be adjusted to suit personal preference(s). If you have a tune that I do not have published, please submit it to me. Requests for tune testing are fine, just say the word…and hope I have the car or the money to buy it.

My list is very broad and extensive, but my memory not-so-much these days. So I started from scratch. My goal was to feature at least one (road) tune from our repeat tuners. If I have missed anybody, please let me know.

I am now at the point where I want to try and test all tunes and compile a comprehensive list of all applicable tunes. If you have a tune that I have not tested, please submit it to me. This is still (currently) restricted to road cars.

Feel free to curate your own list here if you so desire (they do not have to be road cars) and I will link directly to your list. Creating a list is actually pretty easy and I am willing to assist you if needed.

NOTE: I anticipate 2 pit stops at Sarthe for tire changes alone to account for the weather. As a result, some of these tunes will have a 2 lap maximum with their fuel economy, even at FM6. They will be powerful or nimble enough to overcome this hindrance and still post easy wins.

REQUESTED TUNES (not finding anything in search results):
CHC Nova ‘67
DS 3 Racing ‘11
Peugeot 208 GTi ‘14

A very similar effort on Reddit, although /myckol does all his testing on Hard (and I believe using a MT), whereas my testing is all done on Easy using an AT, FWIW

Tuning sheets will be available upon request as I don’t want to clutter up the thread.
This is the GT7 Car Tuning forum, so it would seem odd to not include tunes on that basis.

Put them into spoiler tags if "clutter" is your concern.

Will do Captain, that makes sense.

FYI, I’m not trying to be defiant, but I quickly realized it will make it a massive nightmare to edit the post if I include 3 tuning sheets for each car. I am separating them by manufacturer instead. Hope that’s OK!

There seems to be some interest in a list of cars that can compete on certain tracks. I love Sarthe and I love road cars as some of you may be aware. This thread is intended to be a running list of road cars I have WON at Sarthe with. I intend to publish the car, tuner, best lap and overall lap time.

Tuning sheets will be hidden under Spoiler tags and separated by manufacturer as I don’t want to clutter up the thread. When you see a ratio listed in the title of the tuning sheet, it is the fuel mapping I used (currently using AT’s), i.e., 6:3 is FM6 = 3 laps. Links listed under under ‘Car’ will be my adaptation of a given tune, links listed under ‘Tuner’ will redirect to the tuning sheets originally published. Requests for tune testing are fine, just say the word…and hope I have the car or the money to buy it.

My list is very broad and extensive, but my memory not-so-much these days. So I will start from scratch.

Feel free to curate your own list here if you so desire (they do not have to be road cars).
Very good idea !!!!

This car is SO close to 3 laps with an AT, if anyone figures out how to make that happen, PLEASE let me know as it would make it absolutely dominant. I’m not sure how I ran out of fuel on my final lap despite having no issues earlier in the race, but I was easily on-pace for a sub-4:05.

I also think this is a very good idea. And I asked for the information in another discussion.

But I wonder about the GTPlanet general forum structure, and its capabilities. What is going to be posted here, with the different posts per brand, if there are questions and discussions on each of the topcics, then it would have been beneficial with a threaded view of the posts. Or what do you think?

The basic topic is what wins at Sarthe. The specific cars would be the sub-topic. That’s why I’m including links, think of the OP as like a Table of Contents in a book. If others were to curate their own lists within this thread, I can simply add them to the ToC.

Nice thread! Used the m3 but not with a swapped engine, just fully updated. Dream car to drive! Will try some of these other roadcars, like the challenger r/t swapped!

Alex put up such an impressive time at The Glen that I couldn’t wait to see what his tune was all about and moved it up a few spots in the testing order. It was a bonus that he left enough overhead PP to kind of tailor it to my style. He did a really nice job with that tune I thought.

Cool idea. I appreciate the work you are putting into this. My 86 and NSX rally cars are my fastest, but any car you post would be appreciated.

Not tonight, but let me see if I can create some form of template to ease this process for all concerned.

Bas, I’m surprised you’re not submitting your P330 and myk, your Escudo. Both are great tunes!

I did not even consider trying to detune the Escudo. I doubt it would be good at 700pp compared to the other rally cars.

For the list I would nominate Praianos Alpine A220. That is currently my favourite one on LeMans. Excellent handling and steering. Good performance. And the sound of an old style manly mechanical car with som klonking sounds. Love it!

Not a road car, I may expand the list later, but for now, at least for me, strictly road cars.

This one is an excellent drive!
But it is no way I assume that you get 3 laps out of a tank of fuel? With FM6, yes. But even if you would change strategy and do more weight reductions as Praiano suggest?
Argggg, triple post. I really need to drink my coffee before starting to type. I have tried to insert quotes after the fact, but never have any luck. Is that even possible?

I believe in all my testing that day with Pra, fuel economy was one of my goals and I couldn’t manage it, but I could be wrong. Now using a manual I’m sure it could be done, but I’m too lazy to switch it up yet. Economy is a funny thing though, I’ve had turbo’s and ALS’ that had little to no impact on fuel burn at times, most of the time they’re a significant detriment. Conversely, IC’s should improve it, but doesn’t appear to have any bearing on it. I don’t even know if downforce or even tires have an impact, they should. Still waiting on some intrepid individual to do the science behind it as it applies in-game.

I love the car so much I just don’t care, lol.

This car needs to be driven like the drag monster it was intended to be. Any deviation from this, including improper tire selection, is basically a death sentence. Maybe there’s a tuner out there who can save this car for track use, but I’m not holding my breath.

If there isn't a thread for fuel economy, maybe there should be one?

Gearbox adjustment was an inadvertent omission (that’s a stock box with only a final gear adjustment), but as far as I can tell, is the only way to squeeze the 4th lap with an AT. I do have a quicker version, but you lose the 4th lap, will post after testing.

A touch of lift and coast may be required for both FM calculations or set it 1 higher and you won’t have any problems.
