There's been a lot of hoo-haa about this. But GT4 had "locations", 20 locations for GT5 means the same thing. What did we have for 4? Europe? North America? Dirt/Snow?, etc.
Ignoring the obvious fact that GT5 won't have less tracks than GT4, no dev will decrease size content when you have an infinitely better hardware platform to work with.

While this is true, it didn't really change the experience for the worse - not for me anyway. Having said that, if GT5 really does have anywhere close to 1000 cars, I for one find that both welcoming and, to be honest, a bit ridiculous! Most of us will only ever race a tiny percentage that are our favourites, but at least the options are there I guessThat's not exactly true. GT3 as debut game on the PS2 took quite a hit in the car number. From 600 to 200 or something like that I think.
