Ha! Fellow moto gp rider Lorenzo responded to Rossi's challenge with a blistering lap time of 5.58!

A saw that pic but there's no proofs he really used Race Hards and the stock Pagani. I highly doubt it. And we are still not sure about Rossi's tyres. So at this point my only advice is: to hell with them, go out tune your Pagani and beat Lorenzo :)

Vale & Lorenzo are online now having a lap time battle on the nordshleife in Zonda R , Lorenzo has just tweeted a pic of a 5.54 lap time

WHAT! Where?! Is the room Italian? Did they post their PSN's?

No, Rossi tweeted that he did a 6'14 lap of Nurburg in a Zonda R and offered the challenge, Lorenzo responded to it and got a 5'58.

Damn... well thanks for stopping my mad dash to find the room xD

Also, this thread should probably go somewhere else now then.

After some laps with DS3 in arcade mode (with the arcade car) with everything off, ABS=1, Racing Hard Tires, brakes 5/5, i did 6:38:xxx...i give a chance that some people with DS3 and the above settings will do it in about 6:30, sounds right?..... and i will give -10 secs to a Steering wheel user about 6:20....(even though that the lower you get the harder is to find another mSec)
I am really starting to have doubts that it is even possible to do a lap 6:14:xxx with the above settings.
Someone should tweet him and ask him about settings .....or even better tweet him
"Post a video & settings or it never happened.
P.S.Welcome to the world of Gran Turismo!"
lol

This^^^. Video or it never happened. It's not just because he's famous that the rules doesn't apply to him.

Had a go and did 1 lap at 6:21.118 I feel sure i could get 4 or 4 seconds quicker. and im sure there are guys out there that can blitz Rossi's time. Stock with R/H.

Fully tuned and setup with R/S 5.58,459

This is stpu[id. No one knows the settings and car they are using.

They could be using a tuned Zonda with RS tyres and SFR on

Lorenzo just got his fingers sewn back on a month or so ago. He can't even please his girlfriend yet, so I doubt he can play GT5 at a top level. Who knows maybe it is good therapy.

Funny that these guys arent playing the MotoGp game. That is because that game sux and has garbage physics. They should add bikes to GT5 / Gt6/ or Tourist Trophy 2 hint hint!

I am pretty good at the Nordschleife.....
I did a 6'27.606 on my first clean run.
That was my second lap.

I could shave some time off, and I think a 6'14 would be possible on RH's, but you would have to be good and you would have to be ultra clean and fast.
13 seconds off of that lap I just pulled out is a big ask.
I can see it on RS's.....
As for 5'43..... not on stock settings.
No way.
44 seconds faster than me?
Nope......

I'll have a go with RS's.......

:irked:👍

EDIT: 6'09.873 using RS's.......
That was my first lap.
I won't bother with another.
I think you'll find Valentino is using Race Softs.
Even so, doing a 5'43.xxx is still highly unlikely, unless some further tuning has been done.

I have saved both laps, if anyone wants to quibble, though I doubt anyone will.

:grumpy:👍

From Lorenzo's twitter account (and I am surprised no-one has not already posted this as it was an earlier tweet)
"New lap time: 5.48.7. but this time free settings (without limitations)"

I would define that as anything goes. It is also implies that the earlier times were based on some 'limitations'.

As to MotoGP riders playing GT5, no real surprise there as they clearly like playing with cars; eg it is well known that both Rossi and Super Sic drive/drove Rally Cars. They would probably prefer to see more Rally rather than MotoGP events in GT5.

guys, look at his tach, its not a stock zonda r... redline at just under 8k?!?! a stock zonda r redlines just over 7500

Tire wear and fuel use are both disabled as well. The screen shows that he's midway through the second lap, so both indicators should show changes if they were enabled.

What is that blue indicator within the gear number box? I'm drawing a blank on what that means and I'm at work so can't fire up my copy of GT5.

Look at Lorenzo's screen at the right bottom... That Zonda has a Turbo, he probably has the stage 3 turbo installed...

No wonder he's so fast... 👍

Thank you, this is what i mean 👍
If i have posted the exact same thing (zonda r 6:14:xxx) i would be burned at a stick.
No one would even have bothered to try it before asking for proof, set up/settings, controller used? and all the normal staff that i should say/post if i wanted to put a challenging into play.

Now we are in a totally pointless witch hunt to find out what number46 used.

that tt2, gt5 tt dlc please

I just tried this quickly and I could only do a 6'30.
I can reach 6'27 maybe but 6'14 no way.
Maybe Dan Holland can do it :)

I would be surprised if someone on this site couldn't compete with Rossi and Lorenzo's times. After using the Arcade Mode car with RS's my first clean lap was a 6.23.911. I certainly don't consider myself anything special in relation to the top drivers on this site. (Dan Holland, where are you?)

I hope polyphony are taking notice and are looking into the possibility of enhancing possible celebrity lap time challenges in the future (particularly in an effort to eliminate any setting issues). I think it could be done with some kind of dynamic seasonal event support where the "Celeb" has a chance to reply or update their time throughout the duration of the challenge.

my two cents

Would be happy to try if we ever do find the right settings.

I'm no Dan Holland, but I fancy myself a good chance to beat Rossi :sly:.

I am pretty good at the Nordschleife.....
That you are 👍, though again without knowing exactly what it is.. too hard to challenge.

Maybe it was the arcade Zonda R?

I'm pretty sure that Lamentino(some one calls him like that in Italy:sly:)had used R3 or R2 tires!

ma non ti vergogni? vieni su un forum mondiale a sputtanare un orgoglio italiano come vale? scommetto che sei un tifoso di quello sfigato di biaggi. patetico

I would also like to see the setting he used, i did 5:52 in a bone stock Zonda R (oil changed)on racing soft tires, adjusted downforce and gearing, im curious to see if i can match his time.
