I'm hoping it sound like a lightsaber

Maybe it'll play the sounds from the Darth Vader fight, complete with dialogue and everything! Really, how will PD tackle this sound issue? It's like they planned to release the 2X after the sound update to have a proper settings to handle a laser-powered engine or something...

Well, it's something different, that's for sure! Man, I haven't even had time to buy a 2D yet! That car's gonna be crazy, I can feel it.

I can see it now - 2J to 2X - "2X - Jim Hall didn't tell you who your father was did he. Iiiiiiii am your father"

This thread and the laser beam propulsion makes me think of only thing -

"No! You're not my real father! I won't join the dark side of the (fan) Force!"

And those Queen song lyrics fit the car like a glove: it is "Dynamite with a laserbeam" that is "guaranteed to blow your mind anytime". One can only wonder how was the meeting that decided that the 2X's powertrain was going to be the one it is:

"Sir, Subaru made a car based on fish fillet! How are we going to innovate with ours!?"

"Innovate!? Do people think we can't do innovation? Screw them, we will make our car run on lasers! Let's see people complain about this so-called 'lack of innovation'..."

So it's apparently powered by...

LASER! Well, nobody said Vision GT cars had to be realistic or grounded in reality in any way.

@Jordan Not sure if this has already been posted, but there are 13 photos of the concept here....!!!

http://media.chevrolet.com/media/us...cles/chevrolet/concepts/111914-chaparral.html

AND IT HAS THE NUMBER 66 ON THE SIDE OF THE FRONT WHEEL ARCH AND AT THE BACK OF THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍:D:drool:

This was found from the GM website. The photos are copyright presumably so I cannot post them here I think? Anyway, you can see them easily there yourselves.

According to the GM website:

http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/...Pages/news/us/en/2014/Nov/1119-chaparral.html

"Editors: Additional photography will available here once the vehicle is unveiled at the Chevrolet press conference during the Los Angeles International Auto Show, Nov. 19, 2014 at 7 p.m. EST."

It's sci-fi to the max.

Man, this is one hell of a spaceship... er, I mean car. GM took the name "Chaparral", put it in a blender with the words "Sci-fi" and "Vision GT" and then added a time machine for the hell of it. I'll say it again: GM has become my favorite VGT car designer; they did not settle for a rehash of an old concept car. They went balls to the wall and created a car with no fears nor constraints. I can already see many angry minds, complaining how this car doesn't fit in GT and that it is useless content. It doesn't fit in GT? That might be, but it fits in VGT perfectly.

And that's all it matters. :)👍

That was posted on GT's Facebook... And is that the Horse Theif Mile at Willow Springs?

No idea about the track as I'm not much good at guessing from pics.
That pic you posted from Facebook is the last of the 13 pics which are available at the link I posted above. 👍

And I'll say I've just looked at the reveal vid and:

a) the car is awesome:bowdown:
b) the music in the vid is awesome:tup:
c) the blond in the vid is awesome

where's the driver? how does he sit in that? is he on his belly or something? where's the steering wheel? how are players only using the cockpit view going to play with that? it doesn't seem to have a lot of visibility where the visor is. It kind of looks bad*** but it doesn't seem practical at all... guess I'll just have to wait and see.

EDIT: Watching the video answered a few of my questions.

Not a fan of it...

get it? fan? (Fan car??)

I didn't get it.

Don't worry, I got the joke. Because it's a fan car and Chaparral did those, right?

I feel bad for Subaru now. Their car is so cool, and it just got kicked in the nuts by this thing lol.

Yes, that's more or less my opinion when I was driving the Viziv today:

"You know, you drive reasonably well and you even have a interesting engine noise. But I'm kinda more excited by the 900-hp, completely unexpected laser-powered acid trip that came from one of the largest car companies in 'Murica. Sorry, it's not you, it's me. Well, it's more you than me, and it's also terrible timing on your part."

No words to describe my face right now. Hats off for an incredible and imaginative design. Pushing the boundaries of motor racing.

Bravo Chaparral-Chevrolet! The 2X is a true VISION GT.

......

However this racing car is not supposed to be driven with a steering wheel so I really don't know how it will feel in the game using a wheel, we will see...

Now I want a damn 1:18 diecast version of this crazy acid car!!! well done Chevy, you have The best VGT by far, let's see what Alpine has for us now

Probably the part where the entire VGT program jumped the shark.

You think that? It's just a coffee break from all the other project cars. Someone had to go crazy, might as well be GM doing it. And besides, there are two cars more likely to be the "Jumped the shark" moment: the Nike\Jordan pair. Now those might be the works...
