Well, here's the background on my G27 cockpit.
The morning the shipmet arrived home I just tucked the G27 pedals under my TV table, then pushed the TV backwards and installed the wheel and the shifter in front of it. Then it was just a quick job of getting the first chair in my site so I could play GT5P ASAP! However my solution wasn't genius. After buying a PS3 Slim and the G27 I had something like $250 in budget. Enough for a Playseat classic, but not for a Playseat evo. I was scared of buying the Classic because I've heard it's compatibility with the G27 is rubbish. I liked the fact of having the wheel in front of the TV, made it feel like a true Sim cockpit, but the shelf for the PS3 obstructed my legs and the pedals were mounted too close to me, making the driving position terribly uncomfortable. Also, the pedals slided to all sides. I got my tools and some wood I had left from some school homeworks and set to work. I inverted the TV table to give the legs more space, and made supports for the pedals so they didn't moved. That felt great, and I decided to carry on. So today I finished the last stage of my little project, which involved MORE wood-cutting, MORE nails, and MORE noise!
. I managed to mount the pedals faaaaaaar from me, so I can now seat on a comfortable position and removed the shelf of the PS3 (the PS3 is now sitting over that same slab of woof but on the floor).
I know it might not be elegant, classy, it isn't painted, my seat isnt tastely upholstered, the edges still show, but hey, I'm 16, it was almost free, and this is by far my biggest carpentry effort
