You can't beat $30 đź‘Ť

i also plan to get that when i get home. the 1 review a gamer left on amazon seems postive and 30 bucks seems worth the risk. if it doesnt work, you got a new tool for the shed. win/win in my book.

I have one of these and I absolutely LOVE it. You cannot beat the price. Its stable with my DFGT, and adjusts to the couch or two different chairs I use.

I did have to cut about 6 inches off of the table part to keep the it out of the way, but other than that it's perfect. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a inexpensive alternative.

Cool! I do have one question for you...how much deos the Logitech G25 cost? Is it under $100?:dopey:

Pick one up on ebay. You can find the G25 new for about $280, or the G27 (newer version) for around the same. You can get lightly used ones for $200 if you bid smartly, or try to find a refurbished one. No wheel that I know of under $100 is going to give you a clutch or a stand-alone shifter

Just a quick update on the Rigid Flip Top stand:

  • Available for under $30 at Home Depot
  • Set up is effortless and folds flat under couch.
  • As MoggStyle suggested, it can be used for other work projects.
  • The back feet of the stand may get in the way of pedals but only if your pedals slip (hard wood floor).
  • The base of the stand is very sturdy. the Adjustable flip top is a little wobbly but it is sturdy enough to get the job done.

This solution obviously isn't for a hardcore racer. It is for the casual person who doesn't want to spend time building and expensive "eye sore" (according to the misuses). IMO it has got to be the best stand for the price. đź‘Ť

I have been using that stand for my setup since January and it has been rock solid. I started with a DFGT and just recently upgraded to a T500 RS. Initially I was worried about the T500 as it is a lot heavier and the clamp is a little different. I can now say that this works even better with the T500. The clamp locks it down a little farther back, so it is much more stable. Best $30 I spent. Now I am probably going to buy another one for the DFGT so I can do some side by side racing.

This is the best picture I could take with a Blackberry, I know it's not the best but it gets the idea across. This is my setup as of right now and as you can see I have a G27 on a wooden dinner table, I've already had to make a few tweaks to the table so that the wheel could clamp onto it but the stick shift barley fits on the table due to little components of the table underneath blocking the way of clamps, so tomorrow I plan to buy a piece of wood about an inch thick that'll go over the dark wood and hang over all around about 2 1/2 inches so that I can secure both the wheel and stick shift on the table properly. You can see a slight bit of the piece in between the stick shift and the wheel next to the pedals that i'm also thinking about cutting off so that I can pust the pedals out a bit farther for a more realistic feel.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that the 15LB dumbbells help weigh down the table so it doesn't slosh around everywhere.

I would hate for those dumbbells to fall off and crush your toes. :scared:

$20 for wood and screws. not the best looking stand, but it was cheap and works great. I am planning on making one out of metal with a seat soon.

I will be using this for my set up, I have my first wheel ever coming in tommorow (DFGT) and will head over to home depot to pick this up as well. Im very handy when i comes to custom fab stuff, but with my schedule (Rolex Grand Am Series) I really dont have time and the gf would kill me if i put anything extravagant in our living room. I have a gaming chair that i would use so if i have to make any mods to it that will have to come this weekend. To bad i will only have a few days to play with my new wheel then im off to Watkins Glen and Montreal.:indiff:

And since I got the G27 I also had to upgrade the cockpit. I had made the wooden table years ago for forza 2 and now its being used for GT5.
