If you are talking about the 4 black beasts, then you obviously haven't had to buy a new one. sure relative to a free 88C-V they aren't great value, but compared buying a new one of any of the above they are great value.

To be fair tho, most of mine except the 787B rarely get used. :dopey:
 
Today I reached the week when the black beasts appeard. At first I didnt had enough cash cuz i bought the slr mclaren to win the german schwarts liga B just to get the DTM merc for the german DTM championchip....

This was all done to get the clk-gtr race car so i could finish the last championchip in pro hall, wich i havent cleared yet(10champion races, dont have the nerves..) I didnt notice that the black beasts appeard at first but when i did i just felt desperate to get one of those... I managed to win the toyota raid car a couple of times and sold them all..

It was just one day left before the black monsters would dissapear when i had cash enough to get the Nissan or the Mazda.....Well because that i know that the mazda was supperior when it was active in racing, and after looking at the specs i bought it.... And i dont regret it a bit...

Must say that the mazda feels unstable at high speeds if ya compare to the clk-gtr race merc. It accalerate faster and handles better. Im so dissapointed about the sound....I've heard the real deal and it was a real shock(sound clip)....

I wouldn't say superior. It just didn't break when they raced each other, as the Nissan did. GT doesn't take failures into account anyways. The Nissan is actually faster.
As a side note, try a chassis refresh, stiffening and raising the car slightly. That should solve most (if not all) of your problems.

Good call on the chassis stuff.

In terms of outright pace i reckon you are right on the nissan being a tad quicker, but i find the Beeeee is much kinder on its tires and will give you a distinct advantage in most races more than a few laps.

I found out about these after day 694-701 and I'm now on day 1330 with 2.5M credits and looking to buy all of these by day 1394. I didn't want to read this entire thread but I read the first and last page, besides looks is there any performance advantage/disadvantage to buying the Black LMP's? Or is it just a cool factor since they're rare(in a sense)?

They are slightly less powerful but after oil change and chassis refresh they are good enough to beat any of the new ones.

I concur. I won GTWC, Real Circuit Tour, dream car championship in a black 787B with worn oil. Use R1 tires and 200 points is possible against the right AI field.
At Hong Kong and Paris in GTWC yet to get 200 points, best is 155.

Actually Moloch_horridus, I found the Mazda 787b and the Nissan R390 GT1 to be faster than their colored counterparts. 👍

I have three sets. :) (Day 694, 1394 and 2094).

I'm having difficulty coming to grips with anything more powerful than a DTM car in A-spec in GT4. I did use the black LMPs to win a few things. blackR92CP to B-spec SartheI enduro. black787B to cheat A-spec the Dream Car series. blackR92CP to B-spec five of the 8 races in the Real/World Circuit Tour. The Bentley Speed 8 is my weapon of choice for many Enduroes (e.g. B-spec Infineon), although it's not necessarily the best.

I am wondering now if, contrary to others' advice, ASM will help me drive the super-powerful cars. That's after doing some A-spec driving in the FGT. I started off with setting set "A for A-spec" (mostly qualifying) and "B for B-spec". I left some ASM on the B-spec settings based on my own observations (mostly at Infineon). But when I tried those settings in A-spec for some reason, I found I liked them! (ASM actually seems allow you to bump or be bumped by the AI with less chance of an immediate spin-out).

Oh well, I'll look for a few easy pickings to get me to 90%, then I'll spend a few weeks seeing how much I can improve my license test times. After that I'll try to give the Special Conditions and Mission halls a more serious try. I'm not a natural player/driver. I'm hoping license tests will teach me some things subconsciously.

But, yes my second and third sets of black LMP cars are just collectors' items. :) (Though it does let me compare the cars with and without a "cage").

These beasties in all their carbon-ibred glory appeared just after I had completed 50% of the game in the used car lots; 90s A and 90s B. Now, if only I had the money!

:eek: :eek: :eek: You HAVE got to tell me, are those cars also in the American version of the game or found just in the Japanese version because WOW, I have the money to get the four of them right now if I wanted to and I WANT TOO :eek: :eek: :eek:

Thanks, I'm actually playing the game right now as we speak. I JUST finished the Mission Race #11 and it took me 5 trys but I finally did it...Anyways, I wrote those 4 cars down and I'm going to wait for them to show up 'cause I'm getting those suckers if it's the last thing I do...:sly:
 
those black versions of those cars do appear in the north american version of the game, becuz i have one(the game) and i saw them in the used car lot #2
but i never bought them, but they were expencive, but i would only buy them if i was gonna actually race them, in which i would never use them....so oh well

Ya, I'm at about 1180 days give or take into the game and I haven't seen them yet. I'm waiting to see them to buy them ASAP, lol. I have the money to get them all at once. But I'm not going to be affraid to drive them though. To me they are a sweet car and need to be driven in my view, lol, but thats just me...anywhoo, once I see them in my game, they're mine :sly:

etc.
ie the last 7 days of every 700 day cycle and they are in all versions of the game. They cost between 1.22M and 2.92M
 
I bought all 4 cars and i tried the GT One in the test course and it didn't go anywhere!:ouch: I also tried the early nissan coloured counterpart in Time trial and it was reving and shifting but it didn't go anywhere! Can Somebody Help!
(P.S. The Gt One had automatic and the nissan had a manual transmition)

That sounds like faulty hardware. Clean the disc and try again. If the same appears, you may have a corrupt save.

oh, btw, i found an '92 madza rx 7, with wierd front light and about 500 BHP. unfortunatly, i couldnt take any pics.

EDIT// has someone of you have seen that ride too?:)
 
closest thing to being special like the black race cars I guess is the black formula 1 car o.o though it isn't like it's better then the other 10 colors of the F1 so guess it's a matter of opinion.

As for special in general....I find anything with 600+BHP is special for me XD
 
I&#180;ve seen somewhere on this forum words of a black Renault Clio of some sort appearing at the same time as the black beauties. Sadly I can&#180;t remember what model it was. Anyone know more of this?
