What's your final drive set to? There's a thread on how to flip a transmission, I can pretty much bet that everyone's running a 2.000 final. Every old tune I did when I started was made significantly faster by re-tuning the trans for the lowest final.

They told me not to say times of my belief but i see facts and that time is not to far to be achieved,and i dont think someone can make 9.283.

Read the thread and actually do the steps, it's much easier to do it and see the effects of the steps rather than trying to comprehend them mentally. Once you do that a frw times you'll see how simple it is.

The way I do it is different to what is posted in that thread, maybe i'm doing it wrong, but I think that guide has unnecessary steps involved that make it over complicated.

This is how I flip the transmission, do it in this order.

Step 1: Set final gear to "X" number (this is different for every car you will have to experiment where it needs to be for each car, but i'd say between 2.900 and 3.000 are a good starting point for this car)

Step 2: Set max speed to fully left.

Step 3: Then set final gear again to fully left

Step 4: Set top gear to fully right, then set the rest of your gears up how you would.


Edit: To try and explain how and why this work from my understanding is that you want to find out where to set the final to begin with so that when you move max speed to full left and then reset final gear to full left along with top gear is so that your max speed in the top right is slightly faster than what you will hit the 1/4 mile at, and in doing so it will also give you closer gears with longer (or maybe shorter?) ratios which will make you accelerate faster.

On some cars like muscle cars mainly you will want your top speed in the top right to be alot higher (after you do the flip) than your trap speed, this is because the peak power is lower so you will be shifting at a much lower RPM.

You know what I'm expecting? During the next challenge I expect you will make a guess at the achievable time (a little bit quicker than the current time) then explain the reasons why you didn't already get there even though you could if you wanted to

think of the speed you want to achieve, say 195.
Then reset trans to default
Then move final drive to say 2.700 (the first time you do this is a bit of a guess)
Then move top speed all the way left (min)
Then I move top gear 7th all the way right
Then move final all the way left to 2.000

If I guessed the 2.700 step right then top speed in upper right corner should read 195. If its like 185 then try it all over again using 2.900 instead of 2.700....the higher you set your first final adjustment the higher the top speed when you adjust the final in the last step.

I hope this is easier to understand.

I set the final gear to 2.899 then followed the steps , on the 4th do you mean the 7th gear ?

Yes I said "top gear" to make it a general guide, as some cars only have 6 gears, or 5, some have 8!

I did that and my top speed indicated was 201 mph.

I think if I put 2.950 final gear first , it would be better performance.

Edit : I'v tried 2.950 final and done the rest accordingly. His top speed is 195 mph just like Karo said

I think now I only need to fix 1st to 6th

btw Idk why but I still have 879 bhp

Result = 9.440 , it's my top times (best relies at 9.434)

Nice 👍 Not sure what setup you're on, but for me I was using a very quick shift 2nd to 3rd so adding retro's method meant a double tap at launch. You have to catch it on the upsweep and time it so the revs don't drop.

It took .005 off my time so I expect guess 9.283 is achievable :tup:

Anyone here that's got this car running a 0-100 in 4.18X willing to share some tips on how to do it? I' stuck at a best 0-100 in 4.192 usualy 4.193 and ET of 9.289 9.288 if I hit perfect launch and shift points. My starting final is 2.935, top speed is 194mph, can give more info if needed.

Edit: Langy69 a 9.288 using only 6 gears! crazy haha 👍, it's seeing stuff like that, that reminds me I still have so much learn about drag tuning.

It's easy to guess a time, especially when the competition is underway. It would have been good if you were able to estimate the time for a blind comp like the one Kenny ran. As I said before, If the time isn't achieved then they just aren't good enough, if it is then it's only what was "expected" by you.

Well this time it was because you didn't use a wing, the speed 12 was because of your suspension, the STI was because your ps3 crashed. Several of Kenny's challenges you said it was because you didn't have the time.

Anyway, I didn't plan on being so harsh and divert the thread. You're entitled to post whatever estimates you like and maybe it's just me, but is it not possible that other people are just faster than you? 👍

The truth is that whoever were elected today Greece is ****ed bro!!!
We have amajor problem in everything a long time now and the people
are ready to begin a riot to the ministry and i wish not to do that cause
we will have dead people man!!!
All 300 of our politicians are good for nothing and especially that one that
won the elections!!!They are all thieves and they dont care about Greeks

If i put a lot of time in every car and not being able to make the same times as other i'm saying i cant man.
But i always put so little time to tune my cars cause i find so stupid to play again and again the same cars just to be faster 0.005
And yes i'm not fast like other in here cause i like more to play cirquits than drags and that why i have all my cars broken in!!!I have tested all the cars of GT5 because whenever i was in here all were stuck with
10 cars and it was a competition for 50cars when we have 1000+!!!

Nevermind about that anymore figured out my starting final was too high and 4th needed to be closer to 3rd, and 4th, 5th and 6th needed to be closer together
