I only managed to catch the end of the second day program. My mate told me that colin Mcrae and carlos sains are now driving for citroen? is that true?

So who drives the focus now eh Marco martin?

They interviewed Gronholm and all I heard him say was "Well I hate this rally", what happened to him?

Well, Sweden next - hard to see Gronhom getting beaten there. Is Turkey gravel?

Yeah, It is mainly driven on gravel. There will be a couple of stages with tarmac sections, but not much.

I really like the rally of Sweden. I'm curious to see if Citroen can fight for the lead on snow aswell.

I think the Citroen will be competitive in Sweden, not on Gronholm's pace, but similar to the best of the rest. McRae and Sainz are good on snow and the car will be running the same tyres as everyone else.

Gronholm seems to be in a class of his own for consistent speed on the stages though he might be starting to regret his flaming of McRae for having too many accidents.

Well, it's not like a championship was hanging on it!

Peugeot not getting any meaningful points on Monte is pretty much a given. I think that the Citroens could go well (if not at Peugeot speed) in Sweden, as they did reasonably well there for a while last year.

Citroens will do very well on Tarmac, but i dunno if they've improved on the other surfaces yet...

I'm actually watching the highlights now - someone should pack Loeb up and take that boy sportscar racing, or something on slicks and a racetrack!

I would have to be citroens biggest fan on this forum....
i want a citroen double chevron avatar!!!
now!!! :D
so proud of those guys :D

I can't stand it when stages get cancelled, I find it almost as annoying as the repetition of an earlier stage. There couldn't have been more than 4 or 5 different road sections on the Monte', they just kept running the same roads over and over. Bring back the old 5 day rallies that would cover 100's and 100's of miles of different and varied roads.

Yeh, some of the stages are repeated three times, which can be annoying, it should be held where no stage is repeated in the one event.

The stages are repeated in order to keep costs down. There are fewer roads to close, marshall and police. The recce is kept shorter and the whole route tends to be more compact. The reduced cost element is part of the reason why there are a good number of entries in the WRC.

It would be great to have 6 manufacturers and lots of privateers in 5 day events, one use stages and much greater stage mileage. But it's just a dream and is just not possible anymore.

sebs still equal second.... after some ****ty stages.
"Through no fault of his own, Seb was a victim of inverse Midas syndrome. Everything he touched turned to **** (his words, not ours)."

" After stage eight was stopped, Marcus Gronholm, Tommi Makinen, and Richard Burns ended up being given the fastest time set to date (that of Carlos Sainz). All the rest (Loeb included) were given the slowest time, set by Armin Schwarz." <---sux

"Stage eight came back to haunt him on the final day as well. In the middle of a stage on the final day, Seb came across a group of spectators and marshals waving him down. Thinking he might encounter more or less anything round the corner, he slowed right down. But nothing happened. "

what a sucky race for him....
makes you wonder how far ahead he would have been if thing had have gone more in his favour?
