Civic 3000hp should be banned?

Why do you try :ouch:...just fly's over the birds nest.

I don't know why I try, I guess as long as the conversation is still going there's still a chance...:banghead:<<<but it does feel like that sometimes..:dopey:

Whoa I was unwell yesterday & missed this...
Here is the Lancer i was talking about in a 550PP room: :)
He was focusing so much on acting that he was constantly making amature mistakes  I don't know how well I'd do while essentially going against my instinct of foot to the floor and constantly trying to pretend I had less power than I really do.

I think you're giving him too much credit.
The way he cut the track a few times, it's clear he's used to just driving dirty from sloppy corner to sloppy corner.
I see there's an Autozam that's hacked... Most people complain about the handling of that car at the stock power.
Chances are a lot of cheaters just can't drive - so they cheat. Not very surprising.

I hope this puts to rest any ideas that "they're not being used to cheat".
Clearly this guy was trying to be sneaky. Clearly other drivers were annoyed, but did not necessarily know why.

Of course, the only question after that is - do you think cheating is OKAY?
And I see that this thread has gone there. *sigh* :( :dopey:  :boggled:
If someone thinks cheating is okay, I'm sure we're not going to convince those people on an internet forum.

I never participate in PP restricted racing pub lobbies.
But I feel bad for those who do like to go into pp rooms when they have some time to spare, looking for a couple of races. (As opposed to organized set time racing.)

And I do sometimes participate in karting pub lobbies...
And this:
Found another non-restrict-able issue tonight while playing.

Karts... Minimum hp restriction is 98hp. Doesn't mean much for my 24hp Kart, trying to compete against someone with 3-4 times the power.

So that's done too?
I've seen people asking for hacked karts, but didn't notice anyone offering (in the Marketplace forum).

Perhaps we'll see an uptick of activity for clubs that have private lounges set up for impromptu racing, by people who really enjoy the racing, and are motivated enough to make the effort.

Otherwise, I imagine that pp racing will become obsolete, and all you'll see in the pub lobbies is a bunch of cheater rooms of cheaters trying to cheat each other, each thinking they're the only ones.  👎

That's what has happened to MANY online games over the years.
There's even been stuff written about it for years now!

Notice Figure 1
Glitcher + Glitcher = mayhem
Certainly if it's all those guys like the one in the video. :ill:

The bouncy ball fiat.

That might be worth seeing once if it was like this (because that's what I'm picturing):

Awe how cute are the obese Fiats?

Of course, the only question after that is - do you think cheating is OKAY?:
I bet they will miss this question and if they dont: THEY are not the ones that would ever cheat so not their problem, thus is the answer.

Quoting my (rhetorical) question, out of context without the following sentences, rather misses the point.

Fixed that for you.

Good luck? :ouch: and  bottom line of it all ;)

According to Outeke & Doodlemonoply on the first page of this thread, that's not the bottom line of this topic.

The topic is should they be banned altogether?

Clearly just having one doesn't amount to cheating.

But contrary to what Outeke claimed, they CAN be used to cheat online.

There were hints that it could be done by the programmer, but the programmer never stated it...only his butt boy. Not sure if boy extented the msg or really copied and pasted his exact words.

But based on sorg's thread...no holds bar now :ouch: Not sure if T/T is even worth it. You run them to better your own ability against others with the same equipment and tuning parameters (C7 excluded). If some one cheats up there, it is basically a never ending chase of a tail that should of never been chased to begin with.

Least there is private lobbys with good folks still around. Saving grace.

I don't think I understood half or even a quarter of that reply. :boggled:
(edit: regarding butts & pasting in particular)

Sorry, one too many drinks and a bad day after getting my butt kicked around by JKT008 = 13yr in todays race :ouch:

Basically, anything is possible and it includes cheating from what I can gather. Lobby's are already infected. Time Trials? Private Lobby's? Hoping not....but will never 100% know.

for me, it's just another thing to collect. I like the novelty of them. I keep them out of competition unless the room is explicitly for them & expect others to do the same.

 Still confused about the copied & pasted part... but anyway

But yes, clearly PP restricted rooms are definitely vulnerable to cheating with these.

On Time Trials, you can watch replay videos ?
So has anyone noticed anything in the replays?

I'm assuming this simply wouldn't effect lobbies using Shuffle mode or Recommended Garage.

But how about Tuning Prohibited?

As for private lounges... I suppose it would come down to members having a keen eye and a willingness to speak up when they see something hinky going on.

But I know it's important to a lot of people to use only restrictions that can be restricted by the game.
For example, some leagues/series run with honour restrictions. Meaning that only certain parts are equipped.
A lot of people don't trust that.

And I understand that. I know that if it's possible... many people might cheat a little if they think they can get away with it.
I totally believe that most people think cheating is wrong. (Some people don't, but that's another story.)
But many people will cheat, just a little, if the right set of circumstances, opportunities, and temptations present themselves.

Everybody has the capacity to be dishonest, and almost everybody cheats—just by a little. Except for a few outliers at the top and bottom, the behavior of almost everyone is driven by two opposing motivations. On the one hand, we want to benefit from cheating and get as much money and glory as possible; on the other hand, we want to view ourselves as honest, honorable people. Sadly, it is this kind of small-scale mass cheating, not the high-profile cases, that is most corrosive to society.
I agree that small-scale mass cheating is probably worse for GT5 than say the guy in the cheater Lancer at quarter throttle driving from one sloppy corner to the next. The cheat that's less obvious breeds suspicion, as people have said.

I disagree about this alone : " on the other hand, we want to view ourselves as honest, honorable people"
I think as much, or moreso, we want others to view us as honest, honorable people. And so in addition to wanting to be honest, we also take into consideration the RISK of being found out.
If you race with the same people over & over again, and even just cheat a little - you will eventually be found out. Thus, habitual cheaters will avoid clubs & leagues, or they will eventually get kicked out of them. Most of the time. (But unfortunately not always before disrupting others' enjoyment.)

But it really is too bad if we have to be more suspicious now of every new racing pal. :(

If I was conspiracy Keanu, i'd say..
What if

PD was behind the hybrid thing, so we buy GT6 or PS4.

I see a fat lady on the horizon skyline.

People make that speculation every time, with every game that gets hacked.
I can think of one online game, where people said it for almost a decade while waiting for the next version.

I was not in attendance last night.. BUT JKT008 kicking everyones butt is nothing new! He's been doing that since he was 12. He's a fast clean straight up guy! And it dropped our jaws after racing with him for six or eight months, to find out he was 12(@ the time)......holy:censored:

..Just incase anyone gets the wrong idea...I don't think DiersZee1 is saying JKT008 was/is cheating..

Sorry just wanted to make that very clear. Thanks 👍

Wow lots of jerk comments. Everyone has an opinion. In some rare occasions some Developers would actually listen to what their fans/consumers have to say. Sure there are some mods/hacks that are somewhat "ok". Like swaping the performance (Sounds, feels, power etc) of the Standard GTR 34 Nismo with the Premium Nissan GTR34. Sure its ok because it sounds more realistic. They aren't adding any extra power etc. Just aiming for the sounds. But then theres the Lame-Os who add 500,000,000 hp to their cars completely destroy their suspensions so theres nothing but sparks, and glitched movements. GT5 was better before this exploit. It wasn't 100% fair and perfect. But it was a lot better than this nonsense. I can't even host a legit race lobby anymore. Let alone join a cruise lobby with my wheel and drive without people slamming into my car. My arms still hurts T.T Please PD Fix this nonsense ASAP. Please don't allow it to be in GT6

the title explains it all Y must people hack and take out the fun . Does anyone agree with me?

Finally, someone with a head on on their shoulders! Yes i do agree with you and i report anyone who has a hacked car as it is a breach of Sony's terms of use. There are no justifications or excuses..it is illegal!

Beside you are announcing in numberless threads how annoying you find these hybrids - I guess everybody knows that you don`t want one - you still keep violating THIS although you accepted during registration process.

EDIT: Tree`d by UrieHusky...

On-topic:
No need to ban them. Outeke said it all. 👍

You are not one to talk about agreements of terms and conditions as you advocating the breach of Sony's terms of use.

One thread about "should they be banned" is enough.
