Final Championship Standings - Champions Lex Lathor & Flaco
Please note that effective from 30th March and the start of British Summer time the meetings start at 17:00 BST which is the same as 16:00 GMT
Now Racing: "Cobra Ferrari Wars", World Classics, One Make Series and Senna Tribute Series
Races will be held each Sunday starting at 17:00 GMT, then from 30th March inclusive at 17:00 BST (16:00 GMT). The race meeting will last between 1.5 and 2 hours. There will be three races each of approximately 15-20 minutes. 6 minutes of practise will be held before each race. i.e. one race for each championship.
Each race will be on Race Hard Tyres with no driving aids except ABS which most drivers set to 1, edge grip will be real and race starts will have false start check. Penalties weak and damage light, slipstream real, no boost.
We have been racing every Sunday for over a year now, all drivers are expected to drive in a considerate, careful and mature manner. All ability levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced.
Drivers will change their car selection after every three meetings e.g. Cobra for first three meetings, then Art Morrison Corvette for three meetings or for World Classics race series e.g. BMW 507 for three meetings, Corvette C2 for three meetings.
The car list will be subject to change with reasonable notice in order to keep the races fresh and interesting.
All Drivers are expected to follow the hosts instructions regarding the race meeting at all times.
The Cars: - No wings or spoilers
Paint should be in age appropriate colours e.g. solid or metallic only, no chrome or polarized finishes
Wheels should be age appropriate e.g. standard, spoked, American Racing or Torq Thrust in standard size - if wheels or colour are inappropriate the host will request that the driver change them before the next round.
Where possible bumpers should be removed in order to enhance the race look (this should be done to the Mercedes Benz 300 SL, Shelby GT350 and Shelby Cobra)
Bonnets if lightened must be in body paint colour
All cars have been tested and found to be of similar performance, but there will be slight differences - to preserve the attractive look and feel of the races we want to have a wide variety of cars.
Please indicate which car you will be racing in the Cobra v Corvette cup.
Please indicate which car you have selected for the World Classic car championship.
Car choice will be subject to a first come first served basis and a balance of cars will be maintained by the host.
Cobra v Corvette Cup - either car (NB you will change to the other car for rounds 4-6 etc.)
Shelby Cobra (not chromeline) - credits 530,550
Art Morrison Corvette - credits 725,000

NB all the cars can tuned to these levels except the Toyota 2000 GT which with an oil change and full tune will reach 288 bhp, however testing has shown it to be comparable to the Ferrari 250 GT and it has been introduced as an alternative to the Ferrari for those who are short on credits.

Championship Length
Each championship season will run for 6 rounds, then a new series of championships will commence.
Photographs
Photographs of the race action are encouraged. Race reports and photographs taken by the official race photographer (IfandOr) will be published in this thread.
Signups
Please sign up by sending a message to Sick_Cylinder via your Playstation 3. There will be 16 regular drivers in the championships.
Absence / Unable to attend races
If you know that you will be unable to attend certain rounds please inform the Host. It may then be possible for a reserve driver to fill your slot on the grid. If you no longer wish to participate in the championship the first reserve driver will fill your grid slot and will drive the same type of car.
Reserve Drivers
If the grid is full you can sign up to be a reserve driver. You will be able to race when a regular driver is absent and the grid therefore has a vacant slot. If a regular driver leaves the championship you will be offered that drivers slot and will become a regular driver using the same type of car as the original regular driver was using (or was scheduled to use).
Questions
If you have questions regarding the races or comments about quality of driving or other problems etc, please raise these with the Host Sick_Cylinder via your Playstation 3 or via the conversation facility on GTPlanet.
Postings on this thread should be reserved for race photos, race reports or helpful tips on cars in the car list.
Room Etiquette / Talking
If drivers speak to each other they should use the PSN name even if they know the drivers real name. All conversations should be in English. Some talking is ok, but no babbling (excessive talking) during races please as some drivers may find it distracting. This also applies to the host who should refrain from babbling during races!
Race Room Settings
Start type = Grid start with false start check (this means hold car still with brake until start)
Grid order = Fastest First (this means start in order of practise lap time)
Boost = off
Penalty = Strong (this means avoid crashing or short cutting the track)
Tyre / Fuel depletion = very fast (this means try to avoid drifting round corners)
Grip reduction on track edge = real
Minimum number of pit stops = 1
Require tyre type change = off (this means you can stick with race hard tyres)
Race finish delay = 180 seconds (there will be a wide range of abilities of driver)
Visible damage = off (this prevents spoiling the look of photos)
Mechanical damage = Light (if you have a crash the damage will repair itself)
Slipstream strength = Real
Tyre = Racing Hard
Nitrous = Prohibited
Vehicle Tuning = No Limit (but check BHP and weight limits and PP limits)
Skid recovery force = prohibited
Active steering = prohibited
Active stability management = prohibited
Driving line = optional
Traction control = prohibited
ABS = optional
PITSTOPS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
There will be one compulsory pitstop to change tyres in each race.
If you fail to take a pitstop the game will automatically give you a 50 second penalty.
You can take your pitstop on any lap apart from the last lap.
If you take your pitstop on the last lap the host will give you a 30 second penalty (Unfortunately this is necessary due to an error in GT6 which fails to conduct a proper pitstop on the final lap).
No pit stops will be held if the track does not have pit lane (e.g. London) and tyre wear will be slowed from very fast to fast.
Championship points
We will use the MotoGP points system as we have in previous championships as this awards points down to 15th place as follows:
1st = 25
2nd = 20
3rd = 16
4th = 13
5th = 11
6th = 10
7th = 9
8th = 8
9th = 7
10th = 6
11th = 5
12th = 4
13th = 3
14th = 2
15th = 1
16th = 0
There are three championships running simultaneously, therefore there will be three champions crowned every six weeks although it is possible that one driver could win all three championships. In the event of a points tie the champion will be the driver with the greatest number of 1st place finishes - if this is tied, it will be the driver with the greatest number of second place finishes etc.
Manufacturers Championship
For the World Classic Car Championship a Manufacturers Championship will be in place - the highest placed car of each type will score points and after 24 rounds the result will be declared.
For the Cobra v Corvette Championship a Manufacturers Championship will be in place - the highest placed car of each type will score points and after 6 rounds and 12 rounds the result will be declared.
Bad internet connections / PS3 Problems
If the Host is disconnected by an internet or PS3 problem, the Deputy Host (IfAndOr) will Host the meeting.
If a driver leaves a race after it has started due to an internet or PS3 problem he or she should send a message to the Host who will award points equivalent to a last place finish in the race.
If a driver has a bad connection such that his or her car is lagging excessively and unpredictably the Host may ask the driver to leave and re-enter the room.
To reduce the risk of bad internet connections all drivers should empty their system cache before the race meeting starts.
Practise - A series of practise races will be held on Sunday 9th March at 17:00 GMT - these are not part of the championship, but are an opportunity to check room settings and cars if drivers wish.
With effect from Round 13 and running until Round 24 the Cobra v Corvette Championship is replaced with the "Cobra Ferrari Wars"
The car selection is based on the cars entered for event four of the "Guards International Trophy" held at Brands Hatch during the late summer bank holiday weekend in 1963. During the mid-sixties this event was one of the biggest in the UK and attracted cars and drivers from all over the world including virtually all the F1 drivers.
In 1963 the car list included one Corvette, one Cobra, four Jaguar E Types, two Aston Martin DB4GT's, five Ferrari 250 GTO's and one Ferrari 250 GT. The up to 1600cc class was dominated by Lotus Elans which will be our one make car for rounds 13-18. For rounds 19-24 we will use the TVR V8S in tribute to the 1964 TVR Griffith 200's which competed in 1965. You can find out about that car and support the suggestion by clicking on this link:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/tvr-griffith-200-1964.300485/
You will not need to buy any Ferraris or other high cost cars to take part - you will be able to use the Corvette C2 and Jaguar E Type if you are short of credits.
Your car choice will depend on your championship position at the end of round 12 of the Cobra v Corvette Championship as shown in the spreadsheet.
explanation: If you finished the Cobra v Corvette championship in 1st place you will use a Cobra for rounds 13-15 followed by a Ferrari 250 GTO OR Ferrari 250 GT OR Jaguar E Type for rounds 16-18 followed by a Chevrolet C2 Race Car OR C2 road car for rounds 19-21 followed by a Ferrari 250 GT OR Jaguar E Type for rounds 22-24.
If you finished the Cobra v Corvette championship in 2nd place you will use a Ferrari 250 GT OR Jaguar E type for rounds 13-15 and a Cobra for rounds 16-18 etc.
Schedule for Rounds 13-24 has now been added
June 8th will be a Test Day, with short races enabling people to test the cars to be used in the new "Cobra Ferrari Wars" Championship. Round 13 will be held on 15th June and will be held at the Brands Hatch GP Circuit.
September 7th will be a Test Day, with short races enabling people to test the cars to be used in the new "Ford Ferrari Wars" and "Historic BSCC" - Those championships will start on 14th September 2014 at a circuit to be announced and will run for 24 rounds.
