After last Sundays season break for testing...
Lotus Elan - This is a fun little car. My setup was already quite good I thought -
Arrakis. I could just about keep up but I couldn't catch up. So I tweaked the way I achieved the power slightly (185bhp) and altered the gears - which gained 1 to 2 seconds. Strangely, I found switching to the standard diff helped me also. Eventually I gave in and fitted it with RH tyres (from SS) and after a further few mods it's now 5 to 6 seconds faster!
BMW 507 - Another good setup -
Arrakis. Already a nice car to drive and it's quite quick. A few further gearbox and differential mods have helped a little.
Ferrari 250GT - This was nowhere near competitive on Sunday. I didn't know what was wrong with it. I later found out I was using a bit of a mixed up setup. Partly new and partly from the classics series - so lots of weight and not enough power.
So after a lot of serious engine mods (twin turbo) it's quicker. It's also been on a strict diet (just a shell now) so it's much better around the corners. 👍
It's still got quite "lively" handling though and those Cobras seemed to be all conquering though - so we'll see. Tune again by
Arrakis - although I've just noticed it's been redone, so I'll have to give that a try.
And the Senna WSR - Well you just keep your foot to the floor it that.
I must get my Cobra "unleashed" next. And also that Corvette C2 Race Car - there's a challenge! It's quite "fun" as it is, but probably not in a race.
A good site that is fully searchable and lists and links lots of the GTplanet tunes is -
