A parting shot of that high speed cab disappearing into the distance... He must have an urgent fare to pick up.;)

I wont bother with the Cobra/Corvette race - My hard drive's full of pictures of them! And the BMW 2002 is a standard model - so doesn't photograph very well.

Sorry guys, bad day for me. The races are at 9:00 am my time, and I'd only had about 3 hours sleep after a party the night before. My breath was still flammable.

Sick was spot on about my start fiasco in the Jag--I had not been online since 1.07 and got a little confused. Then I realized I drastically changed the weight ratio early in the week without testing it and spun out in the first corner. Bad choice.

There was no way I could ever recover, so I decided to adjust the transmission for the Cobra and BMW, which I had never driven at Spa (in fact I had never driven the 2002 EVER!) I geared up to avoid the rev limiter, but never tested first gear for a grid start. Ugh.

I'm sorry I was so unprepared. It was a busy week.

Here's some more from race one.

Even the Cab driver was surprised by the pole position considering the competition!

Lex showed great perfomance grinding his way back to 2nd place after the lap 1 incident

^ Big up to Smiley, great driving on your debut and only missed podiums by mere hair's breadth! I´m confident we will see you on the podiums soon!

I have a confession to make. I quit the race. I was totally unprepared, having a laughable suspension setup as well as a messed up transmission due to only having two minutes of practice before qualifying started. By the time the race started, I knew I wouldn't stand a chance. I attempted to do late breaking and succeeded, but the car's horrible understeer took control and I went wide onto the AstroTurf and spun. These physics are weird, how the car just falls apart whenever you drive up onto a curb.

Hi Ryan - You are very welcome to join us again - next Sunday is Nordschliefe, but please setup your cars before entering the room. We all have our cars ready to race. The brief practise sessions are just to get a feel for the cars again before qualification starts.

I tend to use other peoples tunes, because I still haven't got the hang of it in GT6 - tunes by Priano, Arrakis Speedshop, Crazy Over the Hill Outlaws and Dolhaus / Dagger are normally good. Some of the guys do their own tunes - IfAndOr and Emotional Rekz have done well in the Corvette C2 and if you message them I am sure they will be happy to share their setups.

Good luck with the tuning - hope we see you on track next Sunday.

Curbs are a problem in this game, they are not like in real life. My guess is there is something wrong with the grip level on curbs, it´s either not enough or too much grip. Probably the latter. Too much grip to the tire(s) that go over the curb makes the rest of the tires spin (?).

Try and practice the tracks and cars that we will run as much as you can is the only thing you can do about it right now. Next will be Nordschleife, it has a couple of spots where I completely avoid going over curbs.

Since I didn't do any BMW 2002 shots at Spa, I thought I'd better have a go this week. For a standard car they haven't come out too bad.

Early on there was some close racing...

After a few "incidents" the field soon spread out...

There were still a few duels going on throughout the race...

IMPORTANT - CHANGE OF CIRCUIT - ROUND 12

After testing at Mount Panorama, sadly I have concluded that the circuit is currently not fit to race on because it causes PS3's to lock up. We will use the circuit in the future after PD have addressed this issue.

Round 12 will now be at DEEP FOREST REVERSE - 12 lap races

real classic racing

Considering it an old classic (and expensive) it was being driven at a fast speed. Very close to the barriers in some areas!

Amazing amount of steering input and corrections - it looks like me trying to keep up with you. :)

Race Report - Round 11 Nordschliefe

Apologies for being a week behind - I blame the school half term for keeping me too busy!

World Classic Cars
1st - Lex Lathor - Ferrari 250 GT - Red
2nd - Smiley WRX- Shelby GT 350 - Dark Purple
3rd - IfAndOr - Shelby GT 350 - Yellow

Smiley WRX made a slightly sluggish start and was passed by ZuluWraith (Green 300 SL), Sick (White BMW) went up the inside and IfAndOr (Yellow GT 350) went for the outside - the battle raged for a few corners, but without contact! Below, Lex Lathor dominated the meeting with three wins out of three - here he pilots his Ferrari.

Cobra v Corvette
1st - Lex Lathor - Art Morrison Corvette
2nd - Emotional Rekz - Cobra
3rd - IfAndOr - Art Morrison Corvette

Above the Corvettes of Lex (Orange) and If (Yellow) lead a pack of Cobra's. Sick had a promising qualifying and was in a podium position until a mistake on landing from a crest sent the car into what would have been a fatal crash - fortunately he just ended up at the back of the field.

One Make Series - BMW 2002 Turbo
1st - Lex Lathor
2nd - Emotional Rekz
3rd - Flaco

Flaco missed most of the meeting, but despite lack of warm up time claimed a fine podium.

Round 12 Race Report and Results will be up shortly (Round 12 took place at Deep Forest Reverse on Sunday 1st June).

8th June will be a practise day for the new "Cobra Ferrari Wars" which replaces "Cobra v Corvette". Championship racing re-starts on 15th June at the Brands Hatch GP Circuit (the 1980's layout) and will feature:
1. World Classic Cars (Drivers please let me know your car choice for rounds 13-15 if you haven't already done so).
2. Cobra Ferrari Wars (Cobras, Ferraris, 1963 Corvettes and Jaguar E Types/XKE's) check the bottom of the first post on page one or the separate Cobra Ferrari Wars Publicity thread for more details.
3. One Make Racing - Lotus Elan (Rounds 13-18) and TVR (Rounds 19-24)

New Drivers - this is an ideal time to join us - practise day on 8th June @ 17:00 BST - new "Cobra Ferrari Wars" Championship and new "One Make" Championship.

We will also be adding a six round Senna F3 Car championship at the end of the meeting for those drivers who want to stay on or join us at approximately 18:45 BST. When those six rounds have been completed we will run a six round championship for the Senna Lotus 97T with power restricted to a more realistic 800bhp (the current 1,049bhp was presumably the qualifying engine - in those days teams would use 4 to 6 engines per meeting).

To join send an FR to Sick_Cylinder
