Producing an entry chosen to poll is different than providing an entry. If the rules implied 'poll selection' rather than entry, then hell - people would simply continue to use an entry until they got the desired result instead of, applying themselves. If the image was submitted and not retracted, irrespective of time frame, it's out of bounds; late, early, on-time - none of that amounts to a hill of beans. Whether you intended to use the image, it was accepted, or if you meant to retract it but aliens abducted your dog that ate your homework... none of that matters. It boils down to this: "Pay attention"
It's a dangerous world out there.
Arguing the point and twisting semantics to play in favor of using a cliched image doesn't do much other than annoy the judges (and the contestants). Also, you could have made an entirely new image in a fraction of the time it took to make such a contentious non-point.

It´s definitely an advantage if you´re able to read the rules. Besides that, isn´t it quite pathetic to try to make an entry with a pic you used in another competition before where it was completely out of place?

You Did but I added the link from URL of the Original large Picture found when You click Action, View all sizes so look at the difference when Your click You picture and the one I quoted.
Just to Confirm Your entry is legal but we Prefer when we click the image to see it Large size Hope You understand it and feel free to ask again 👍

Bigger than allowed previews, full sizes and link only entries will be ignored when it comes to choose which ones deserve to go to poll, but they still count as competition entries. If you want to discuss this further, please, P.M. me.

I don't know, you turned in a pretty good crack at it.
That's actually why I went for the classics side. There's a couple of stand-out ones in the modern section, but I felt the overall standard on the classics side was high enough to make an interesting (and quite probably tight) contest.
