I see.. So you also don't see a 911 as a supercar?
Or a Maserati Gran Turismo S?
Or an Aston Martin DB9?

Fair point good sir, I do indeed see those cars as supercars, just something about the GTR, may be it's the low price comparatively, I don't know why :( Just my personal opinion :D

Weird.. Since the GT-R beats the 911, and probably also the Gran Turismo.. Ah well..

Actually, on the Top Gear Test Track it's listed like this..:
1:19.5 - Ariel Atom 2 300
1:19.7 - Nissan GT-R
1:19.7 - Ferrari 430 Scuderia
1:19.8 - Ferrari 599 GTO
1:19.8 - Lamborghini Murciélago LP640
1:19.8 - Porsche Carrera GT
1:20.4 - Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1 (damp)
1:20.4 - Koenigsegg CCX (without Top Gear Wing)[2]
1:20.7 - Ascari KZ1 (damp)
1:20.9 - Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
1:21.2 - Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
1:21.6 - Audi R8 V10 (damp)
1:21.9 - Ford GT
1:22.2 - Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet

Nissan GT-R positioned #18 of all times..
Come on.. Can't say it's not a supercar, lol.

I tried to make the NOMAD Diablo look nice. I hope I succeeded:)

If my opinion counts for anything, which is questionable on the best day, I have always seen the 911 as the ultimate sports car - there is a degree of exclusivity and rarity missing that keeps it from being a supercar. I see 3 to 5 of them a day. Phenomenal sports car, engineering feat of excellence, amazingly potent but missing the specialness because it is so common.

The Gran Turismo S and DB9 are both GTs, very potent and exclusive but are quite bent towards accomplishing goals other than the perfect drive. IE the number of golf club bags that fit in the trunk or the quality of the sound system - making sure there are no sacrifices the driver or passengers need to make on a journey.

A proper supercar in my mind is both stunning in performance and appearance, but requires sacrifice from driver and passanger. It should be loud, it should be hard to get into, it should be uncomfortable BUT the experience should overcome that. The Miura, F40, Macca F1 and Zonda all make demands of the driver that one would find appalling in any normal persons daily driver, but we love them for these flaws because they actually bring us into the experience.

That's what I have come to see as a supercar. But if there is one thing I know is that everyone sees it different. Cheers - great shots so far.

^
I would say zonda is an exotic. :P
CCX, Agera, F1, SSC and Veyron are hyper. ;)
But it's still eligable to enter. 👍

Alright guys, i say some healthy debate out here. :D
Nissan GTR is a supercar. Yes, it does have rear seat but that can't take it from not being a supercar.

Ferrari Enzo, Lambo Murchielago LP640 and the SV and etc. etc., that's not a supercar, it's an exotic but it's still a supercar.
Confuse? It is. :boggled:

So does Honda NSX. It doesn't look like a supercar to me. 200bhp+ power, definitely not but peoples say it's still a supercar.

If you guys referring to wiki, it's just so wrong.
F430 is a sports car? (Wiki said) I would say no.

My thoughts always were that exotic and hyper cars were all supercars, just sub-groups. Because then we should add baby supercars (Gallardo), affordable supercars (STI and Elise), supersports cars (GT2, GT3, ZR1), the list goes on. It's like going to the zoo and saying "That's not a cat, that's a tiger."

I see yours too to tell the truth - ex. Miura vs Murcielago, Both mid engined V12s topping Lamborghini's line up. However, when new price adjusted the Miura is less than a third of what the Murci is. $130,000US plays $450,000US+(670-4 SV). It is a different game.

I know which one I would rather have.

Well, at the end of the day, I guess it all depends on who you ask.

I bet everyone would have a slightly different answer when it comes to it

Wow, so much discussion on whether a car is a damned supercar or baby car or whatever next. Why don't you'll put so much thought into the CCCL competition to see if every entry fits the theme?

Anyway, just for the record, is the F430 considered a supercar? I can't believe I'm asking this.

Because I'd like my entry to be valid, that's why.
IMO, the F430 is, yes.

That CT230R is a race car. Though it didn't race on any races, it's just like mini-Zonda R, if you get what i mean. My bad dice. :ouch:

Well, at least we know what's this and what's that. :P
And yes, F430 is a supercar. Just don't look at wikipedia, it's just wrong on car classes.

is there an edited version of this somewhere ? a bit brighter on the front and back of the car and it is perfect

cheers 👍 I do actually although I'm yet to upload to my Flickr.... will add link later, its just a shame its not legit for this :indiff:
