I've heard sticking the PS3 in the oven for 5 minutes and then turning the PS3 on and removing the disc works a charm. Or you can take it apart. ^^

If you stick the whole PS3 in the oven it will melt the plastic. You have to open the PS3 out and put ONLY the motherboard in the oven. This is to get your PS3 to work again possibly though. With my YLOD I opened the blu ray drive to get my disk out.
 
Guys, STOP!

Before you get any crazy ideas: All of this "putting PS3 motherboard in the oven" stuff works only for some time. Once you get a YLOD, it will sooner or later come back, often only weeks after the first one.
 
I would never ever put my PS3 in the oven, lol.
Not even when it's in a thousand pieces, just to see what happens if you cook it. Never ever!

Yeah, didn't work for me. I just sold the bluray drive for $70, threw the rest away and bought a slim
