THOMASBARNESCare to explain what problems it has?
(And you can't say because it's not realistic)
Power ups are just bubbles. No enjoyment. Yes I am comparing to Mario but that unavoidable.

And I do like the way each of the teams has its own unique trait (ie the ability to shoot projectiles backwards, the ability to change your power-up if you want a new one, and the ability to shoot three projectiles instead of one, etc.). I'm kind of hoping they come up with some way of giving each of the drivers a bit of personality beyond their helmets and faces.
2. I noticed in the driverselect screen you see, but not select, Valentino Rossi, Jeff Gordon, Sebastian Loeb and Ivan Muller. What's up with that?
prisonermonkeysIt's a cartoon kart racing game.
It's also a PS3 game which costs money. That screenshot looks like it could be the Vita version! Maybe it is, I don't know. Cartoon or not, there's no excuse for those terrible textures.
Yep it's out. Played it, deleted it. Crap.
What were you expecting? High-res textures and hyper-accurate car models?

I still adore the base idea, but the execution seems to be a bit meh. Get outta here with your castles n stuff. The real circuits cartoonified with some dynamic element to them, like in the first trailer - that would have been cool. And if the game was still in F1 speed.
Codemasters consciously removed drifting from the game. Drifting has long been one of the fundamental gameplay elements of the karting genre; most karting games include it as a way for the player to gain a speed boost. I can't remember how it works in Mario Kart, but I do recall Crash Team Racing - when you went into a slide, a little boost bar started to fill up, and if you tapped the right button as the right moment, you got a burst of speed. It certainly lacks drifting, which made Mario Kart so fun.

Codemasters removed this from F1 Race Stars because they wanted to separate the game from Mario Kart and other karting games. Instead, they incorproated a system where you automatically charge up the boost system by driving through designated sections of the circuit, leaving you free to use the boost when and where you please.
PletdeKoeThey already have DLC in the PSN Store. That is pretty lame. It costs € 4.49 euro.
peobryantI downloaded the demo and had a pretty good time, and my son loved watching me play it so I'll be picking this up when it drops in price. LittleBigPlanet Karting is much more fun though, so if you had to choose between the two I'd go for LBP.
It would have been very cool if they would have just included the real life F1 "arcade" features, like uhm... that electronic boost and that flattening the rear wing thingie. Sorry, I m bad with acronyms!
Add that to the wasted potential.
