Codemasters Reveals Off-Road Racer ONRUSH

Has anyone seen any cockpit/dash cams on any footage yet? I have a feeling this will be pure chase cam arcade (I hope I am wrong on this one)

Chase cam cannot be the only option, I would be shocked if there is no bumper cam.

As for the gameplay footage... I really don't know where to stand. Yes, it looks pretty frantic with the potential to be a lot of fun, but I reckon the sooner they detail how career mode works, the better....

Basically, I want to know how the game works if the concept of grid positions is removed. 💡

I still dont get what the point of the game is watching that. If it's just keeping 24 players racing side by side constantly with no one dropping behind or out and with no finish line whats the point in taking people out to earn boost?

Rather see a Driveclub-Race Driver grid hybrid racing game than this pointless game to be honest.

Looks rad but fully expect this to miss out on the racing audience and not burst into the mainstream. Which sucks.

See Eurogamer video above ^^ it explains there is no finish line but a points limit (i.e 8000 points). To reach the points you have to do takedowns and stunts. It is a team game and the team with the points goes through as far as I can see offline (AI) or online.👍

I also have mixed feelings about this being so arcade and nitro boosted through the game. The tracks look nice but from watching the videos (not playing) it all looks like a lot of fast confusion! I will give it a try for sure to support Evo/Codies and the photo mode of course but I can't see me on this more than a few months.

Disclaimer (I also said this about watching DriveClub before release but got addicted and was on it for 3 years and didn't play much else :ill:!) ..We shall see

The graphics look very much like DriveClub ^^^^ (Trees etc)

After watching some gameplay videos this game is definetely out of my radar. I still hope in next few years ex evo guys will bring us game like driveclub, or at least help codemasters with next grid game.

That Eurogamer video is awful, AI cars and bikes that just magically appear right infront of you not even in the distance and you catch up to them...what on earth was Rushy thinking?

We badly need a good arcade racing title like PGR why is no one making a game like that?

While I do have better clarity on how the game works and the game modes seem rather fun, I can't say I am totally sold on it just yet. As @torque99 said, there is just too much going on and the interface is overwhelming! :scared:

On another note, I noticed the game features a song from Forza Horizon 2:

Those videos look utterly bland. I don't see that many positive feedback on the gameplay videos and I truly wonder if it will release with this kind of setup up or if it will have a repush further towards the future.

After seeing the gameplay I am sure I won't buy it. Even not on a sale.

It's not a racing game, which means I'm less interested than I would be otherwise.

I was trying last night to come up with a good "label" to describe this game, and settled on calling it a Combat Driving game.

With that in mind, you're looking at comparing it to Carmageddon, Destruction Derby, the Road Rage mode from Burnout Paradise etc.
It looks fun but shallow to me, but that's based only on the footage that's been put out. Maybe my impression of the game will improve after I try out the Open Beta.

Titanfall but with cars.

I tried to be optimistic after what a Rushy initially said but I have to agree, sadly. This isn't looking hot.

Anyone could've fooled me by saying that it's actually a F2P title.

Just got around to watch some of the gameplay videos - had previously only seen the teaser trailer - and yep, definitely not what I expected. At all. Looks more like a bizarre racing version of a TDM shooter, so there's a chance I might like it even if it's not really a racing game.
I did love DriveClub so I doubt I'll pass on this entirely.

Well this is a big deal; users can choose between 30fps and 60fps on the open beta (This function is also available on the standard PS4)

And to those concerned about 60fps users having an advantage...

Evolution still doing Evolution things then I see. Mental how good that team is from a technical standpoint.

Just got myself blocked by onrush's official twitter, and as well, shadow banned on twitter, just for telling the truth about Paul Rustchynsky on twitter: pretty petty of Codemasters... And yes, if you are asking, NO I will NOT get onrush, should have been obvious...

Make no mistake mate, that is without a doubt the worst Twitter account I've ever seen.

May I ask why do you think that? It's not just Paul Rustchynsky, who I have a beef with, it's A LOT more...

Perhaps it is because you have beef with someone you have never met in real life (and many others by the sound of things) over something so trivial?

I don't care if it's trivial. I don't believe in Paul Rustchynsky's political beLIEfs, but MOST gamers are willing to violate their own beliefs (political or not,) that conflict with a dev's beliefs, to play a video game, and "make profits" for said video game dev. Would you, for example, buy "Super Seducer"???

As I would have hinted in my previous post, those beliefs don't influence my decision of whether I should buy a game or not, and personally I don't see why they should affect anyone else's, especially if there is a team of talented individuals, creating a product for our entertainment in order to earn a living.

You can't expect everyone in the world to agree with your views. Have a good day.

Exactly. Social Media shouldn't be a platform for berating people 24/7. It's not fair, even if you disagree with people's political leanings.
