Michigan lost so since they'll probably get blown out by Ohio State as well, Brady Hoke will probably be gone.

Good, I wasn't in favor of hiring him anyway.

Very surprised Ole Miss got blown out 30-0 by Arkansas...but with Bo Wallace, I'm really not surprised he turned it over 4 times

The sad thing is a month ago about 75% of UTs fan base was very upset that he we didn't recruit him. I saw him play when he was in high school and there was a reason why Arkansas St was his only FBS offer.

I can tell you that he has been the only reason that Auburn has beaten Ole Miss the past 2 years.

Here is the latest Top 4 and Last Two Out:

01 - Alabama
02 - Oregon
03 - Florida State
04 - Mississippi State

05 - TCU
06 - Ohio State

Agree? Disagree? What do you think?

Not to be outdone with all the pro football today are two college games. #5 TCU at Texas and LSU at Texas A&M are on tonight's college football card.

Enjoy tonight's games and good luck to all of your teams this week and weekend.

DOWN GOES MARSHALL!

Earlier today, one unbeaten finally fell as the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky University took down Marshall in Double Overtime. The home crowd in Huntington, West Virginia didn't like seeing their Thundering Herd fall from the unbeaten ranks. Granted they were ranked 24th in the nation, they lost a basketball-on-grass game: 67-66 in Double Overtime to WKU.

DOWN GOES UCLA!

UCLA got spanked at home as Stanford put a 31-10 hit on UCLA at the Rose Bowl. Since this game had conference championship implications, that meant Arizona State at Arizona was for the Pac-12 South title. Speaking of...

...Arizona outlasted their rivals from Tempe with a 42-35 victory. The Arizona Wildcats held serve at home in Tuscon to win the Pac-12 South after UCLA's epic fail against Stanford.

Congratulations to all other winners of this week up to this point.

Rivalry games. Big games. Bowl eligibility on the line. Iron Bowl. Egg Bowl. Civil War. No matter what, if you want a time of year to really care about college football, it's this weekend. So enjoy some college football today and tonight!

Good luck to all of your teams.

Rutgers just stunned Maryland.

Losing 35-10 at one point, Rutgers went on a 31-3 run to end the game and win 41-38.

Washington beat Washington State. Was hoping for a shutout of WSU, until Washington defense blew it.

UW played ok, but I was definitely hoping to see a better performance.

Hopefully Will Muschamp will become the DC at Auburn. Ellis Johnson has been canned as of Sunday after 2 seasons. When Muschamp was DC at Auburn back in the mid 2000s, Auburn's defense was tenacious

Unless Nebraska had lofty expectations, I feel very sorry for Bo Pellini getting fired. It's not like today's Cornhuskers are the 1970 'huskers or the 1995 'huskers. You all may think different, but I think this was a poor firing, all things considered.

My heart goes out to Alabama-Birmingham with the cancellation of its football program. I always respected UAB football.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa (Alabama) are both under the same board of trustees. The whole UAB football cancellation is so that Alabama can get more funding for its football team. I have a handful of friends who currently attend UAB, and they're furious about it.

Wow, that's dirty but Alabama clearly needs more money *sarcasm*.

It's the final set of rankings until we see the Selection Sunday rankings this coming Sunday. Here are the Top 4 and Last Two Out this week:

TOP 4:
01 - Alabama
02 - Oregon
03 - TCU
04 - Florida State

LAST TWO OUT:
05 - Ohio State
06 - Baylor

One last week of action to come. Last chance for many teams to stake their claim.

I went to Tuscaloosa for the Iron bowl this past weekend. My best friend from high school attends Alabama, so he got me a student ticket for the game. While I was there, I asked opinions of his roomates and parents about the UAB situation because it had been talked about heavily here for the past month or so. They all pretty much had the arrogance to say "Well they suck, so why have a program?" That totally disregards the fact that UAB is bowl eligible yet again this season. Just one more reason I'm thankful that I'm an Auburn student.

BTW: at the Iron bowl I was on tv

You look bored or high for some reason. Might I suggest looking at GTP while at the game? :dopey:

That's actually really comical that FSU dropped two spots for playing a close game vs. an SEC team which beat Georgia. Florida still finished with a winning record. Sadly, if FSU does badly against Georgia Tech and doesn't blow them out (or even outright loses), they could fall out of it completely if Ohio State dismantles Wisconsin somehow.

Yeah, that's an absolute shame. There's a part of me that thinks UAB was at fault merely for being too physically close to close to Tuscaloosa, but I never had much of an idea about how close they were on the financial matters. But a team like Alabama can recruit players from around the world, if they needed to; it's not like a couple of prep recruits from Jasper and Jefferson Counties were going to poach the spoils of victory that easily from them.

One one hand, I guess there's still the fact taxpayers were footing some of that bill, and they had 20 years to make something out of that program. On the other hand, it can take decades for that to really happen; not every college football program is going to be a near-immediate (and recent) success story like Boise State, or to a slightly lesser extent, South Florida.

On the other hand, Florida Atlantic University won't have anyone to beat next year.

The forgotten side of the whole issue is that the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH) gets basically no funding relative to UAT and UAB. Instead of boosting the 3rd school under the board, the good ol crimson tide get more money so people can have slightly better seats in their stadium or to give Nicky Satan more money to not retire

Or to buy him a bigger house.

I heard this is primarily the result of a grudge that BOT member Paul Bryant, Jr has had against UAB since Gene Bartow (former UAB mens bb coach and AD) accused his father of being a cheater to the NCAA Years ago. It seems the BOT have definitely been opponents of UAB for years in 2006 UAB tried to hire Jimbo Fisher as HC but the BOT blocked it and they have refused to let UAB build their own stadium.

Now Tennessee has to find another game to open next season we were going to pay them $1.5 million to play us in Nashville now they have to pay us $925,000 to cancel the game.

That's really sickening honestly on how corrupt the board is. I know money talks, but that's borderline ridiculous.

It is. But when 13 of the 15 board members have ties to UAT and if the story is true that Bear Bryants son is behind it, then its not really surprising that they voted this way.

The horrible part of it is they are saying that they are dropping football because of money, but they have said that they are honoring all scholarships and coaching contracts and they announced $49 million in facility upgrades for other sports. The report said it would have cost $22 million in facility upgrades for the football team to be competitive in C-USA.

Just shows how the board is really only concerned with making sure all the Alabama fans can rejoice in their national championships while UAB which actually has an academic focus can't even have a team. I know I'm very biased against UAT, but I really don't see any good in this at all from the outside looking in

Coaching vacancies have recently been filled. Get to know your new head coach, University of Florida- formerly the head coach of Colorado State, Jim McElwain. Nebraska, get to know YOUR new head coach: former Oregon State coach Mike Riley.

For most teams, this is the final weekend of action for the regular season. Some other teams may have a few other games left. Don't forget about playoffs among other NCAA (and perhaps other leagues) still going on. Plenty of college football action to be had. So enjoy college football to the max!

Good luck to all of your team(s) this weekend.

Well, now all eyes are on Michigan to name their new head coach. I just want them to take their time and get it right.
