It's Saturday. It's Fall/Autumn. What do you do this time of year? Watch college football! Watch one game. Watch multiple games. Watch as many games as you like. Just make today a fun one!

Enjoy today's games!

Well, Omnis, they'd BETTER be ranked. Hello- knock off the No. 6 team in the nation! Is Kentucky for real? Look what @Jordan 's Kentucky Wildcats did recently- a 20-17 victory at the No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels. BIG win for the 'Cats.

Meanwhile, I'm watching a banger of a contest- Colorado at UCF. Solid offense by both the Colorado Buffaloes and the UCF Golden Knights.

Watching football all day, but mainly sticking to B12 games. Watching Iowa and Houston right now

Musings time. Get ready...

* I knew No. 2 Georgia at No. 4 Alabama was going to a banger, and boy was it ever! Them Georgia Bulldogs were down by about two touchdowns until they came right back and took the lead at 34-33 with around 2:40 left in the game. Then 2:18 was left on the clock as Alabama re-took the lead. And that was a lead Alabama didn't give back. It was a 41-34 victory for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

* Speaking of bangers, it was a great contest in Orlando once the bad weather moved out. The Colorado Buffaloes took down the UCF Golden Knights 48-21.

* My Houston Cougars lost 20-0 at home to No. 18 Iowa State. Now all of a sudden, the Coogs can't score points to save their lives. Maybe we should keep playing Rice to enhance our Bowl eligibility.

* Texas Southern fell at home bad in this "Tiger Bowl." It was a 43-14 smacking Jackson State put on Texas Southern. Texas Southern made their only two scores in the fourth quarter.

* James Madison wrecked North Carolina 70-50 last week. What did the Dukes do for an encore? Oh, nothing... beat Ball State 63-7...

* As for North Carolina, the Tar Heels went to Duke and lost 21-20 to the Duke Blue Devils in this battle of basketball powers.

* Indiana is now 5-0 for the first time in a while. The Hoosiers knocked off the visiting Maryland Terrapins 42-28.

* CommanderBond's No. 9 Penn State Nittany Lions downed the No. 19 Illinois Fighting Illini 21-7.

* Navy remains undefeated as the Midshipmen defeated the UAB Blazers 41-18. Both Army and Navy are 4-0.

* Omnis' Florida Atlantic Owls took on another pack of birds, the Wagner Seahawks. Smooth sailing. The Owls won 41-10.

* TB is smiling because the North Dakota State Bison smashed the Illinois State Redbirds 42-10.

Congratulations to all other winners this week!

Congratulations to @Yard_Sale 's Arizona Wildcats on upsetting the previously undefeated Utah Utes! It was a 23-10 victory in Salt Lake City as the Arizona Wildcats picked up a huge win.

The local TV station showed a crazy graphic from last night Penn State - Illinois game....

This is the Penn State defense in the second half this season.

Well, rankings came out. No Kentucky. They could've easily been Top 10 had they beaten South Carolina.

Rest of the rankings look pretty good, except for UNLV being there after their QB situation. IMO, UK or SCAR would destroy any team below the Top 20.

I feel like Arizona got snubbed a bit in the rankings, not getting into the top 25 after beating #10 Utah AWAY. But honestly, I’m ok with it. It’ll keep the team hungry

As we head into October 2024, allow me to post some standings. Here are the rankings across college football. Find out if your favorite team(s) are in these ranks:

Let's talk about Week 6, as the calendar goes from September to October and for temperatures to get a bit cooler.

* The Texas State Bobcats will tustle with Troy Trojans on the road.

* Sam Houston State will meet the Miners at the University of Texas-El Paso. Can the Bearkats escape El Paso with a win?

* I guess people want to see my beloved University of Houston fail on national TV, so the Cougars will be on ESPN at the TCU Horned Frogs. Former Conference USA foes clash in the Big XII.

* The Michigan State Spartans will venture out west to meet the No. 6 Oregon Ducks.

* Don't look now, but UNLV is on the rise! Now if only the Running Rebels can take down the Syracuse Orange in Las Vegas...

* Will Happy Valley be happy when the No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions host the UCLA Bruins?

* Former Big XII foes turned SEC will meet in College Station, TX as the Texas A&M Aggies host the Missouri Tigers.

* Dolph Drago's Purdue Boilermakers have had a rough season so far. Things may not get better when Purdue visits the Wisconsin Badgers.

* Two Service Academies will clash in Colorado. It's the undefeated Navy Midshipmen playing at the Air Force Falcons in this Commander-in-Chief Trophy battle.

* The Army Black Knights hope not to get blown away by the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

* The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes host the Iowa Hawkeyes.

* After falling in an Instant Classic at Alabama, the Georgia Bulldogs will host the Auburn Tigers in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry.

* The Rutgers Scarlet Knights will head out to America's Heartland and take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

* Florida State is 1-4 on the 2024 season. They could be 1-5 if the No. 17 Clemson Tigers have their way with the 'Noles...

* On the "Smurf Turf," the No. 23 Boise State Broncos will host the Utah State Aggies.

* A National Championship rematch is coming up as the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines are at the Washington Huskies. Michigan won last time. Who'll win this time?

* Fresh off of upsetting Utah in the afterhours, Yard_Sale's Arizona Wildcats will host the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

* North Dakota state pride is on the line when the North Dakota Fighting Eagles play at TB's North Dakota State Bison.

Of course, there are MANY more games to be played than the ones I brought light to. Enjoy all the action this week has to offer!

They've fallen from grace, for sure. Almost as if being denied a College Football Playoff berth after finishing the regular season undefeated broke the Seminoles. They ended up laying an egg in their Bowl game. And this regular season? Only one win so far. Even my sorry U. of Houston Cougars have one win this season. Florida State is one of the proudest college football programs all-time. They'll figure it out and will return to being a Top 25 team within a few seasons.

Houston Cougar Football WON at TCU last night?! Here I was thinking UH was going to get wrecked again (therefore, didn't see the game); and what ends up happening is UH beating the TCU Horned Frogs on the road, 30-19. Wow! HUGE win for the rebuilding Coogs!

Well, me happy boy. Congratulations to all other winners this week before and after the time of this post!

Im not much of a Florida State fan... but SERIOUSLY ?? what the hell - i thought they were supposed to be good this season.
FSU shows what happens when you don't hit on the the transfer portal. They would be a different team if they had gotten Vam Ward instead DJ can't spell his last name. He was terrible at Clemson so not sure why they got him. They also missed on some other players and their home grown guys aren't up to par

I don't blame them. Tallahassee is god-awful. No reason to go there unless you're getting seriously paid.

A&M with an impressive win over Mazzou 😳

Hopefully that QB from South Carolina is ok

A few college football musings coming up...

* For real... what the heck happened to the Missouri Tigers? The ninth-ranked Tigers get tamed 41-10 at No. 25 Texas A&M.

* Wisconsin wrecked Purdue 52-6. Sad news for Dolph Drago's Boilermakers as the Badgers had their way with Purdue.

* Both Army and Navy improved to 5-0 on the 2024 season. Navy grounded Air Force 34-7 as part of the Commander-in-Chief Rivalry, and the Army Black Knights was unaffected by the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 49-7. Both teams won on the road.

* Last night, the Syracuse Orange handed the UNLV Rebels their first loss of 2024. The 'Cuse won 44-41 at UNLV in Overtime.

* It was Oregon green who was all over Michigan State green last night. The Spartans fell 31-10 at the Oregon Ducks.

* No. 7 Penn State improved to 5-0 on the season with a 27-11 victory against the UCLA Bruins at home.

Still a lot more games to come today, including Miami (FL) at California and Michigan at Washington. You keep enjoying that there college football, ya' hear?

Wow

VANDY!!!

That’s what makes college football so great!

This just in...

DOWN GOES ALABAMA! Vanderbilt recorded its first football upset of a top-ranked team by knocking off Alabama 40-35 at Vanderbilt. If you heard a loud thud in Nashville, that's the sound of the Alabama Crimson Tide going down at the hands of the Vanderbilt Commodores. Wow!

Welcome to Week 7, college football GTPlaneteers! I am not going to preview every game, but I will make note of some of the many to be played. So let's get it...

* The Florida International Golden Panthers will head up to Lynchburg, VA to meet the Liberty Flames on Tuesday night.

* The New Mexico State Aggies will head out to Alabama to take on the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

* The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will try to slow down the James Madison Dukes on the road.

* The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers await the visiting UTEP Miners.

* The Northwestern Wildcats will play at the Maryland Terrapins in a Friday Night prime time Big Ten showdown.

* The No. 16 Utah Utes will leave Salt Lake City to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils.

* After their stunning fail last week, the now No. 7 Alabama Crimson Tide host the South Carolina Gamecocks.

* The Washington Huskies will play the Iowa Hawkeyes in FOX's Noon game for this Saturday.

* Rutgers has been fairly hot this season. Can the Scarlet Knights keep it up when the Wisconsin Badgers visit Piscataway, New Jersey?

* The Army Black Knights look to improve to 6-0 when they host the Blazers of UAB.

* It's the Red River Rivalry! No. 1 Texas meets their hated rivals, the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl.

* No. 4 Penn State will travel to the other side of the country to play at the USCal Trojans.

* No. 11 Notre Dame will host the Stanford Cardinal, hoping to prove the Fighting Irish are a viable College Football Playoff threat.

* Dolph Drago's Purdue Boilermakers have had a tough season. A trip to the No. 23 Illinois Fighting Illini may further compound their season.

* Yard_Sale's Arizona Wildcats will enter a cat fight as they will try to upset the No. 14 BYU Cougars on the road.

* After winning the "Deep South's Oldest Rivalry," the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs enter a "Bulldog Bowl" when the Mississippi State Bulldogs come to Athens, Georgia.

* A classic rivalry is renewed as the Florida Gators head up to Rocky Top to take on the No. 8 Tennessee Volunteers.

* Omnis' Florida Atlantic Owls will host the North Texas Mean Green.

* An in-state showdown will commence when the Rice Owls host the Roadrunners of the University of Texas-San Antonio.

* The biggest game this week happens in Eugene, OR; as the No. 3 Oregon Ducks host the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes.

* Vanderbilt stunned the Alabama Crimson Tide last week. Can the Commodores go into Lexington, KY and shock Jordan's Kentucky Wildcats?

* The Colorado Buffaloes will host No. 18 Kansas State Wildcats at beautiful Folsom Field.

* Looking for some late night entertainment? Stick around late Saturday night to watch the No. 17 Boise State Broncos play at the Hawaii/Hawai'i Warriors.

* TB's North Dakota State Bison will play at Southern Illinois against the Salukis.

* A "Southern" cat team will win this one. The Southern Jaguars will take on the Texas Southern Tigers in Houston.

There are many more games, but enjoy this week's games!

Feel free to enjoy as much college football as you can handle today and tonight. We even have big matches today like Texas vs. Oklahoma and Ohio State at Oregon.

Enjoy today's games! Of course, I will offer any musings of action as I see fit.

I had no idea the Petit Le Mans was this weekend. In my older days on GTPlanet covering college football, I gave a racing theme to reports on Petit Le Mans weekend. Let's muse on college football.

* The 2024 Red River Rivalry was not even close. No. 18 Oklahoma led 3-0 early, but No. 1 Texas wrecked Oklahoma like it was nothing. The Texas Longhorns easily won this one 34-3 over their rival Oklahoma Sooners.

* Oregon has done very well against top-level teams at home. Did that continue with the... no, THE Ohio State Buckeyes? Yes! No. 2 Ohio State fell 32-31 at the No. 3 Oregon Ducks.

* The final was 31-24 in Colorado Springs as the Colorado State Rams defended home against the San Jose State Spartans.

* The No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions won 33-30 at the USCal Trojans, but regulation solved nothing. So the cats from Happy Valley escape Los Angeles with a victory.

* In this "Bulldog Bowl," The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs defeated Mississippi State's Bulldogs 41-31 in Athens, GA. Georgia is now 5-1, and Mississippi State is now 1-5.

* No. 7 Alabama got themselves a narrow victory at home 27-25.

* Easy money for No. 10 Clemson. They stomped on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on the road 49-14.

* No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish took the fight to the visiting Stanford Cardinal and won 49-7.

* Yard_Sale's Arizona Wildcats had a nightmare of a game, losing BAD. No. 14 BYU Cougars won 41-19 at home.

* Massachusetts was a pretty good school on the NCAA FCS level before moving up to FBS. Now, the Massuchusetts Minutemen stink in NCAA FBS. The No. 21 Missouri Tigers had no problems smashing the Minutemen 45-3 at the U. of Massachusetts.

* It was like basketball on grass in Champaign, IL between Purdue and Illinois. No. 23 Illinois defeated Dolph Drago's Purdue Boilermakers at home and in Overtime, 50-49.

* 24-3 was the score in Carbondale, IL as TB's North Dakota State Bison grounded the Illinois State Redbirds. NDSU is now 6-1 overall and 3-0 in conference. They lead the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

* Holy Cross played a close one at home against Fordham. The Fordham Rams fell 19-16 at the Holy Cross Crusaders. Fordham is 0-7 overall this season.

* Texas Southern played a great game for most of the way hosting Southern in Houston. As the second half unfolded, the Southern Jaguars woke up. They later would tie the game at 19-19. This game went to Overtime, and Southern spoiled all of the work the Texas Southern Tigers put up by winning 22-19 on a game-winning kick in Overtime.

* In Beaumont, Texas; it was 27-20 as the Stephen F. Austin State Lumberjacks downed the Lamar Cardinals on the road.

Congratulations to all other winners from this week!
