Welcome to the Concept Car Competition!

Hi,

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I thought it would be a nice idea to do a concept car competition. All are welcome to enter, and there is no need to use CAD or complicated design techniques if you do not want to. Entries will be judged on innovation and ideas rather than just quality of drawing.

I think the deadline should be two weeks, but I will up it to four if several people suggest it.

So here goes:

Competition 1
Manufacturer: Vauxhall/Opel
Design Brief: Design an Fast Executive Car, which would be put into production in 2010. Must have at least four seats.
What I am looking for: Futuristic, Eye-Catching.
Designs you can submit: I would expect to see at least one side and the front. You have a higher chance of winning if you show more of the car off. (Interior drawings accepted, but an exterior drawing must be submitted)
Deadline: Wednesday 31st January 2007
I might also submit one of my own designs, but it will obviously not be entered into the competition.

Yea, you are allowed to Frankenstien (but it should still be futuristic). I think the maximum size ought to be 1000x900, but i'd recommend using 640x680 (optimum forum size), as I'm on 800x600 resolution and It will be difficult to judge a car seeing it only bits at a time.

Ive never even used a CAD program. The competition is just about the ideas. The extent of my concept car designs are badly drawn cars with non-circular wheels in 2d on paper. But its the ideas that matter.

Aw, CRAP!!! :banghead: That took me an hour and a half!!

Well, let's just call it a Vauxhall Sage SV Hatchback. With numerous Renault design cues.

I knew when I checked back I would see an "AW CRAP" somewhere. ;) It's a nice drawing I must say, just not really much of an opel. Still, if nobody else enters, you'll win by default!

Edit: I thought there was another drawing comp where you could do anything, maybe check and see if you could put it there?

Il have an entry soon..

Here we go.

Vauxhall/Opel Actren VX
250bhp Turbocharged V6
Front engined-Rear wheel drive
1300kg
Sporty style seats for that racey feel
Slightly smaller than normal steering wheel for better comfort and control
Electric windows, central trip computer with sat nav, telephone book, mp3 player and hands free mobile technology
17" Alloys

VXR Options:
19" Alloys
Comfort and sport modes at the touch of a button, sport mode firms the suspension, tightens the gears, boosts the power up to 310bhp
Traction control can be turned on and off (default on)
Recaro sports seats

Also available in convertible version for flash people and a VXR version with a 300bhp Turbo V8.

I don't mean to crush anyone's spirits, but this is probably the fifth attempt at reviving car drawing/design cometitions on GTP. There just isn't enough interest to follow through with these things. It won't work.

There were only two entries, and neither of them really went exactly by the design brief (large executive saloon). So i decided to judge them off design I ignored that one had strong Renault design cures :) . I decided that Ferrari F2007s one was the more imaginative one, so Im gonna have to give it to him. Congratulations. I don't know if I will repeat this comp, as not many people entered.
